Do you talk too much or are too hasty to reply or comment without thinking things through? It is an art to be a good speaker and even more important an avid listener.
How important it is to give a timely word and to be able to give your full attention to a friend who just needs a listening ear.
In this day of ‘rapid’ unthinking communication on all these devices you may have it is so much more important to control impulsive urges to comment back right away or say what you want no matter what. Discretion must be used in all cases so as to not offend, go over boundaries, hurt, or just be so rushed you didn’t think. Today slow down and decide what type of communicator you choose to be.
PRAYER: Lord I want my speech to bring glory to you and draw people to you instead of repelling them. Give me discipline to know when to speak and when to let things go and be silent. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
