One of my favorite things are vanity tags on cars. Many years we had them gracing our vehicles. My sons current auto tag says ‘Jet Guy‘ and I am thinking of getting one for the first time in over 12 years when I get to Idaho if not taken already that reads ‘WagonsHo’ meaning like in cowboy days ‘here we come.’

Christian tags are some of my favorite like today’s title I saw on a car here in the Huntsville, Alabama  area. Years ago I had one that said ‘Godsgr8’. So it is a fun way to be a Christian witness. ‘Blessed’ is another great one. A friend in Iowa had a tag that read ‘Balance’ which means a balanced life and simply put a balanced life for a follower of Christ in putting Him  very first and centering your life around him.

If you were going to shell out the extra money for a creative tag what would it say? Right now my extra license fee goes to support pro life with a tag with a baby that says simply Choose Life. I guess your life tag could say ‘Lifer’ ‘ LuvBabes’ if you were in poultry industry or sold eggs it could say ‘hatched’. A dentist could be ‘Moler’. You get the idea. Now once you place that tag prominently on your vehicle your responsibility then is to be a good citizen, obey laws, be kind, and be a witness for the kingdom. Are you up to it?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus creativity is wonderful and not a gift from you. Thanks you for the ability to shine your light even through something as simple as a vehicle license plate. Convict me to always be your representative with or without proof. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Did You Take Your Medicine?

         I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.Psalm 63:8

If a person has a medical issue that requires life sustaining medicine such as Synthroid for instance or blood pressure medication they would never think of skipping it and all measures are made to insure it is not forgotten or trouble could ensue. Dated pill boxes are used to remind on each day of the week this has to be taken.

Maybe there needs to be a pillbox for your Bible to remind you to ‘take your daily dose’ of God’s medicine before entering the ‘battlefield’ so you will be protected, nourished, and armed. Perhaps you already have a routine and it is prioritized above anything else like your morning paper or the bad habit of news watching first. 

Spring from bed, say thanks to God for giving you life, grab a favorite morning beverage and nestle in to a favorite chair in a quiet place. This could even be outside somewhere depending on where you live and what the weather is like. Establish a routine of ingesting your spiritual medicine first thing in the morning in order to have a healthy day ahead. 

PRAYER: I need my dose of your word daily. Forgive me and redirect my morning steps when I tend to lean towards secular television to get my morning going more than I do your word. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Bummed, Trapped, Lonely, Confused?

 I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me. Hosea 5:15 

To say the times we are in are trying is an understatement. This will end but in the meantime are you whining about your plight? 

May I ask where do you dwell during the day? In front of social media screen? Please run from that. It can hurt more than help. Might I suggest use this down time we have been ‘blessed with’ to get to know Him better. Satan draws you to things that waste time and mess with your mind so why not do a U turn to that little table in your bedroom and sit in a comfortable chair and read the Bible. Start with Psalms. It is great.

If you do this daily you will be removed from that pity pit you have dug for yourself. You will get stronger and be able to maybe think of a person worse off than you. You may get creative. Who knows. Give it a try. Let Jesus be in the center of your thoughts and actions. Seize the day oh child of God!

PRAYER:Lord I need you and I need to believe what you say is true and not just be a Sunday believer. Help me to share your love and really trust you. Forgive me for my self pity. Help me stand up and run my race to win. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Mind If I Place You On A Brief Hold??

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 NIV #Biblegateway 

Writing comes easy when things occur in my own life that test me. My patience meter has been put to the test by a well known home delivery food  service company who gave me their word four times now my call would be returned yet no one has nor has my problem been resolved. They have my money I have no resolution. This devotion is not meant to gripe or trash them but to train all of you reading that especially during these times of being stuck at home it is hard and you can be less than cool in these times.

Patience. We all could use some. Kindness. Everyone needs it. Integrity. Giving your word should mean something. As a believer you kind of ruin your witness if you go on a screaming rampage with the customer service agent. Customer service didn’t do it. 

Step back. Breathe. Relax. Repeat. Wait let me rephrase that. Pray. Step back. Breathe. Relax. Have you ever considered stuff keeps happening to develop this fruit of the spirit in your life? Hmmm. Now go forth and tackle those potential impatient angry moments with peace. 

PRAYER: Father God help me stay cool when the attacks keep on and on. Let me maintain peace and patience, and you are my rear guard and strength and will help me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
