Not A Stop Sign But A Stepping Stone



He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.Psalm 40:2

I can not remember who I heard this illustration from but tragedies, set backs, losses of any kind are not meant to be stop signs in your life but stepping stones.

Not hitting the home run to win the World Series could seem like a tragic thing for a Major League Baseball player but indeed God can use that to go to the next level. Getting furloughed from a job or passed over for promotion indeed seems awful but I knew of a man once who ended up meeting the girl who would later become his wife as a result. Being born without limbs was eventually the doorway for ministry to Nick Vujivic. 

God takes scars and turns them into stars if you don’t end up getting mad and running away from him.Ask God what he wants to teach you in these seasons of life. Ask him to redeem the time the enemy has stolen. Pray for those who have been unable to bounce back from tragedies that seem unfair to them. During your time of pain try reaching out to those whose heart is also broken. 

PRAYER: I am ever so grateful Lord for things in my life that you used to get me to a higher level and ultimately help others. I ask you to bring comfort to those whose tragedy like the death of a child or sibling seems more than they can handle. Guide these people into a ministry to help others and lift them from their anguish. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

You Have Entered The Twilight Zone




For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.Isaiah 55:8-9


Back in the 60’s a very popular mystery show aired entitled ‘The Twilight Zone’ and I understand there is a spin off show today by same name. In the original, very strange and bizarre things happened that no one could figure out. Very puzzling to say the least and viewers like me tried. 

This is sort of how it is today the past few months with lockdowns, educational institutions closed, churches meeting online, shelter in place, business and entertainment venues closing, cancellation of elective surgeries, and even coffee shops shuttered. It has been like living in the Twilight Zone wondering what was happening and how you could ever escape. Eerie is an understatement. “Wait you can’t tell me to wear a mask I am an American!”

So here you are in month 5 and the saga continues. The ‘curve’ gets better then ‘they say’ that it has spiked so let’s round up the humans and lock them down again. Truly it has felt a bit like living in the Twilight Zone. What do you do while you wait to escape this black hole? First you relax and talk to God. Keep off the news that seems bent on sharing a one sided view of this medical terror. Be kind to people as many have reached a breaking point. Give thanks for freedom and pray it is soon restored without needing to hide the beauty God gave you under a hot mask. Pray for eradication of this monstrous scourge on humanity. And love one another. That’s it.

PRAYER:Lord I am grateful our times are in your hands. Your plans are greater than ours as are your purposes. Help me trust in your miracle healing power to bring a total end to this time we are in fighting a mystery disease. Help me saturate myself in your word and not stories that feed doubt and fear. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Can You Be A Blessing Today?


A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. Proverbs 15:4

There are people you probably encounter each day that need some kindness in their life. You have no idea what someone is going through so don’t be so quick to judge. 

Smile. Be positive. Resist the urge to lash out at someone. Watch those social media posts. Be respectful when you drive your car. Take the high road. Share. Be polite. 

Sometimes human nature wants you to strike back, be ugly, try to win the fight. Is it really that crucial? Go the distance and always try to emulate the Lord Jesus in what you say and do. 

PRAYER:Lord forgive me when I have not been a good witness and struck back with words or even when my mind was thinking thoughts of revenge. That is not the way you desire. I choose to purpose to stay on course and run with you Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Do You Need A New Heart?






I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.Ezekiel 36:26-27

Our heart controls our life. It is not just an organ in your body that pumps blood but indeed is the epicenter of everything 
about our life. Do a word study in the Bible about the word heart and you will come away with a valuable treasure trove
of valuable information that will hopefully help steer the course of your life.

The heart is not just about romantic love but it is what guided relationships with all people. Jesus wants to come into your 
heart for when He is officially invited in you can be a brand new person. Do you desire to have Jesus come live in your heart
and guide you into all truth? 

What enters a man’s heart comes out of your mouth. That means what do you feed it on a regular basis? Think about that then 
put the Bible where you can find it and read it daily to purify your heart. 

PRAYER: Lord Jesus come into my heart and guide my thoughts and actions. I want to be like you in what I say and do.

Stand Firm And Hold On!



"But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:36)

God is in control my friend. When someone said back in early January we were in the “new
 roaring 20’s” it was quite an understatement! No one really knew at that seemingly calm time what was going to hit hard in mid March. Roaring Twenties indeed! 

So here you are in the midst of what some say is the new normal. I choose to say it is a bump in the road to wake the spiritually lethargic up from the stupor many are in regularly. When the comfort and convenience rug got yanked from beneath ‘we the people’ all control vanished. 

Are you in a daily panic or do you trust God has this and will handle it? Do you live in fear or do you have peace? No one really knows how this all happened but it is here and  God is way bigger than any virus on the face of the Earth. Do you choose to believe that this is NOT the new normal or do you constantly feed negativity with words that are far from hopeful? Maybe in 2020 we are being put in our ‘time out’ chair by God. Hopefully people can be drawn to Christ and not run away. Also never take freedom for granted.

PRAYER: Father this outbreak in our nation and around the world has caused confusion, fear, fighting, and really that is not the answer. Do we trust CDC and scientists or do we put our faith in the great healer and deliverer? In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Laughter IS The BEST Medicine



A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.Proverbs 17:22

A hearty ho ho ho is often needed to bring healing and relief to an otherwise dire situation. Belly laughs are good for you. 

My generation grew up with nightly laughing on a host of comical television shows.No autopsies,murders, bedroom scenes, non stop cursing but good wholesome albeit silly humor. Green Acres, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith and also many shows with mild drama that taught values such as Lassie, Bonanza, My Three Sons. Laughter is proven to be good for the heart, soul, and spirit. 

Our world could certainly use a good dose of clean humor right now to lighten up the mood of all that is upon us. Even at a funeral it is good to lighten the mood with funny stories to make family members remember the good times. There are even jokes in the Bible, here is one, did you know there was baseball in the Bible? John 1:1 says “In the big-inning”. Also cars, Acts 1:14 talks about being in “one Accord”. Ha ha. Ok now so that is a bit of a stretch but go laugh on purpose. Google the words ‘clean comedy’ and see what you find. Spending your time trying to find happiness and joy is sure to make your day brighter.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I love the gift of being able to smile, laugh, and sing songs that lift me out of doldrums of life. I want to be intentional in shining your light and helping bring a smile to someone who is down. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Carrier?

Most people’s vocabulary in America and the world for that matter has increased since early 2020. Social distance is a new one. Covid itself is new. All this because of a new virus that can cause death. 

Of course many in the nation are in utter panic. Families and friends instead of hugging and meeting together are quarantined alone.It is a lonely time most active Americans are not used to. Are you are carrier? Asymptomatic? Testing for antibodies and the actual Covid has been the order of the day. Sanitizing everything, staying home if sick, avoiding crowds. 

If you want to be a ‘carrier’ of anything how about the love, joy, peace, and grace of Jesus to a confused and hurting world. Instead of being overly focused on the virus concentrate on how you as a child of God and follower of Jesus can be a light in scared world. Now go be a ‘carrier’!

PRAYER: Lord Jesus the times we are living in now are certainly not normal by any means and pray that they never do become normal but instead a bump in the road and also pray for a spiritual awakening of major proportion. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pray First,OK?



Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.James 5:16

Let’s say you have heard some potentially bad news be it a health scare, job loss, lawsuit, whatever. Your first initial reaction is probably fear. Been there, done that, got the tee shirt. 

So many things that may freak you out and you start worrying over could better be handled by first taking a deep breath. Another deep breath. Get your heart rate down. Then be still before God and talk to Him in prayer. 

The enemy of our soul, Satan, specialty is stealing peace and inciting anxiety. During anxious moments say “Lord I know you are the great provider, comforter and healer and I trust you with this situation” and then let Him have it. Put on some praise and worship music when wrong thoughts seep in say out loud “I reject that in Jesus name” and move on. Stand firm no need to fear.

PRAYER: Father give me supernatural peace when fear enters my heart. Help me stand strong and not allow the enemy to cause doubt. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Anxiety Overload


Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.Proverbs 3:5-6

The Covid 19 fiasco has people wondering just who and what do you believe and just how deadly is it? First of all pray, and trust God to give you direction. Don’t argue your point just be still. 

Picture if you will, demonic forces hovering over America. The unseen dark spirit realm is at war with God and his angels and those who have given their heart to him. Anger,hate, fear, confusion seemingly are the order of the day right now. Your order for the day should be love. 

Satan would love to see mental breakdowns, suicides, Facebook bickering, friendships destroyed, because he is a little conniving putrid evil thing who wants nothing more than to destroy families, churches, cities, friendships, all under the guise of fighting over Covid rules.

Friend you have to remember we are at war! This is spiritual warfare not a battle between humans who are trying to control things but against real demonic forces who have taken many people captive without their knowledge. Be on guard because Satan is roaming around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may destroy it says in 1 Peter 5:8. You have a Bible and the word of God is true and never changes to fit the culture as much as people would like it too. Scripture warns us too about persecution of believers. Friend be on your knees because the spiritual rocking and rolling is just beginning. 

PRAYER: Help me Father to love people but to not cave to lies of the devil trying to create division. I cry out to you for an invasion of the Holy Spirit not only in America but in the world. Help me never compromise and help me not stumble into darkness and wrong thinking. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Don’t Be Quarantined From God



Jesus replied: "'Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Matthew 22:37-39

Do you really truly Love the Lord? Are you in love with Him? Let’s put it this way. Those persons you love you make extra effort to spend time with them and please them. Does that describe your relationship with Jesus? 

Many people have a very superficial ‘religious’ relationship with God but this I mean they grew up and went to a certain church, punched all the church tickets to complete the goal of saying they were a church member BUT did they change and feel different? If not maybe it was just a religion or a church they  were enamored with.

What about you? Do you feel quarantined away from Jesus or are you with him in lockdown hungering and thirsting for knowing Him more? There is more to living for the Lord than just denominational routines and traditions. You have to go deeper. If you didn’t do things with your best friend and pay them compliments they probably would not be a best friend anymore. Jesus is waiting. Why not quarantine with Him and let Him know He is truly first place. If you feel spiritual or numb ask the Holy Spirit to fill you up with supernatural love. 

PRAYER:Oh Lord there was a time I thought being an American and doing Sunday school was all I needed. I am thankful for that background but my heart yearned for more. I lift up those I know who need a touch of the Holy Spirit to fill them up and draw them closer to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Fearful? Don’t Be.



You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

With all the Covid 19 hysteria these past few months there has not only been lots of fear but also lots of anger.

If you have peace over everything and lack a spirit of fear then people get angry at you.It is like a civil war between maskers and anti-maskers. Now I am here to say that as a believer
You are not to get involved in controversies that breed discord. Most people, depending on  the ‘camp’ they have bought into, are not changing,  thus creating tension and a war of words mostly on social media. It is like Satan has discovered another way to get we Americans at each other’s throats. It is a shame actually.

No matter what your opinion try to maintain peace and don’t assume it is your way or the highway but instead live in harmony with one another and strive to maintain peace.

PRAYER: Lord I am thankful because I know Covid 19 can be eradicated. I know the enemy has used it to create havoc and anger. Use me Lord to be a beacon of hope and love and help all of us respect the other and just be silent. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Is It Well With Your Soul??



So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Isaiah 41:10

Is all this coronavirus craziness starting to cause you to melt down and lose peace? Just when we get a breather, no pun intended, back come the mask police this time making it illegal not to wear one in some places. 

Once again this is not a anti mask rant but this is about maintaining peace in unusual circumstances when there are so many ‘expert opinions’ floating around, whoops another pun, floating around as in respiratory particles as scientists call them the illusive invisible bad cooties in the air. 

Humor is what we need right now. Allowing Satan to keep you fearful is not the way to go. Yes I know people have died, I get that and it makes me sad but my point is that you need to do all you can to stay peaceful and turning off bad news is a step in the right direction. Pray, read the Psalms, think happy positive thoughts because negativity gets you closer to the enemies camp. 

PRAYER: I will ever praise my King and my God for He has done mighty things. I pray for an end to this virus. I pray for a return to lives without masks so we can see each other’s beautiful faces you created. Help mankind not settle for this and call it a new normal but instead believe and know you can redeem us and set us free. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Note: Yes I have several masks just hope and pray we don't have to wear them the rest of our lives.

Chill My Friend



So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. – Colossians 2:6

Okay here is the Million dollar question of the day? Who and what do you trust and are you REALLY believing you are deeply rooted in him?

Perhaps it is time for you to apply worldly weed killer to things that choke the roots of your faith. Do you allow the cares of this world to take precedence over your thought life and disable you OR are you getting into the Bible day for a good dose of anecdote for the worlds fears and lies? The major stressor for many these past few months has been preoccupation with all things COVID and many have caved to fear and non stop nightly news updates.

Friend if you want your spiritual roots to thrive and help you stand up to the storms of life you have to start believing and trusting God to set you free from anything weighing on your heart. Filling your mind with ‘the experts’ daily reports is only going to cause your spiritual fruit and faith to take a nosedive. Stand up to fear and take control and start your day with a song of Thanksgiving instead of a dose of secular news. You can do it! 

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I will not allow Satan to paralyze me and create discord and tension in my life. It seems our world is pre occupied and fearful and I know I can’t grow and run my race to win caving in to news reports. Help me share your love with others who may not have faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Wrestling Match of 2020

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:12-13

My goodness half of this year has passed and it has been quite a roller coaster ride. All that is going on is not on the human level against political parties, media outlets, medical experts, and family and friends but is Satan himself using the ignorance about spiritual warfare to divide this great nation. Many churches and denominations don’t even mention it.

The enemy has tried to destroy ministries, stop church gatherings, put fear in mankind, create havoc in major cities, destroy the true history of America by implanting false teaching that gets accepted as fact and finally creating racial division.

Pray for those people who create tension,fear, and hatred through their actual riots and attacks or using social media. Now is the time for followers of God to not argue and try to win debates  but to be on their knees in prayer running hard after God. Don’t let Satan win. This wrestling match can be won by applying the word of God and being kind and loving instead of caving to the level of those trying to defeat freedom. 

PRAYER: Lord I love freedom but the demons of darkness do not and try so much to influence people and take them captive to do the work of darkness. Use me Lord to shine the light and love of Jesus’ and show me how to respond to agitators. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Do You Give Place To The Devil?



“In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians 4:26-27

What does it mean to give the devil a foothold? Maybe simply dabbling in things you know are not good for you. The Bible is the handbook for life so go there if in doubt.

Scenarios to give the devil a foothold would be a jealous spirit, bitterness, anger, hate, rage, gossip, pornography, child abuse, divorce, lying, stealing, fear, doubt, not forgiving someone, giving in to the flesh, to name a few. Everyone is guilty till proven innocent.

Do what you can each day to start the day being uplifted by good thoughts. Have a time alone with God reading Psalms and Proverbs. If you have babies or small children include them to teach them the habit of starting each day with faith not fear. Don’t let the world run your day but purpose in your heart you will run each and every day towards a closer walk with the Lord so the devil can’t take you captive with his schemes. 

PRAYER: Father I want to live for you each and every day saturated in truth and staying in your favor. I choose to cast off those things I know try to drag me into a pit and stay lifted up above my enemies.In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29NIV #Biblegateway

Up until the recent stay at home orders, the only persons who had been on conference calls and zoom were usually business people now mostly working from a home office.This can present challenges especially with young children or chattering wives in the home as I recently was made aware of after embarrassing my spouse who was unmuted on a conference call with the ‘top guys’. Whoops. 

Do you need to be reminded to stay muted sometimes when it comes to impulsively talking, texting, emailing or posting on social media? Once something is ‘out there’ that is that and your only choice is damage control or making excuses. The military saying is “loose lips sink ships”.

Don’t try to win every debate but be silent and still and let God fight your battles. Let only things come from your mouth that edify and are kind. If you aren’t sure if it is then keep silent. When wrong day you are sorry. Pray for any who have hurt you with words. Now go share a good and peaceful word to someone having a hard time.

PRAYER: Lord my mouth sure can be my downfall and I need your help to tame it. Help me not always be talking and to enjoy quiet and this means on keyboards as well. Let my words bring joy not anger. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Man With No Friends



If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Ecclesiastes 4:10

You may be blessed with close friends and family but many people are not. There are very lonely people around you. I wonder how many suicides could have been prevented had there been someone who befriended someone when they got that Holy Spirit nudge.

What does a man or woman, boy or girl do when they have no one to confide in and trust to talk to? There have been ‘friend’ and ‘counseling’ help lines spring up for those who need someone to talk to. Also many ministries have 24-7 prayer lines and I will include a few of these at end of this devotion.  

You never know how that friendly smile or hello to a stranger might impact their day. Also paying for someone in the drive thru who is behind you. Writing a note of encouragement to a serviceman or woman overseas away from family is a good way. Loneliness is an epidemic right now due to Covid regulations impacting nursing homes and many other places. People need people and we need human touch to thrive and survive. Go be kind or write an actual letter with a stamp to someone you have not been in contact with for a while. It will make both of you smile.

PRAYER: Help me Father to find a person who needs a touch from you and use me to deliver kindness as your vessel. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thanks God!!



And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 

What is it you are waiting for? For the Miller family it was a buyer for our farm. We prayed, trusted God, friends and family prayed. There were “hey what’s up” moments but ultimately it is coming together. 

Much greater needs are out there. A wayward prodigal. A belligerent child. Healing for mental disorders. Healing of a relationship. It could even be issues such as medical healing, child development milestones. Everyone had things to trust God for. Frankly I don’t see how anyone does life apart from a daily walk with the Lord. 

“Enough already” is kind of what you might want to say while waiting. I can’t take this Lord but yes by claiming today’s verse try to relax and let God take the wheel. 

PRAYER: I love you Lord. You are so good to me. I trust you for all that I need. You are the Almighty one. You open doors that need opened in the time they need to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Can You See Jesus In People?


“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16

Are you so busy going about your day you fail to see God moments put right in your face? I have had two recently and it just gives me goose bumps. 

Wherever you go look for an opportunity to be a friend, share, pray, build up someone as if you are praying “Lord use me” then believe He will. It may be a co worker, a store clerk, a transit driver, bank teller, person on a walking trail, someone at the airport you just never know. 

If you are a follower of Christ this journey is not just about you my friend. It is not for your goodness and your crown in Heaven but it is about teaching and reaching the lost and hurting to Christ. Wherever you are right now be prepared to make a difference for Christ.

PRAYER: Lord I thank you for working in my life and the lives of my family and friends. Thank you for how you are working to heal and mend this broken world. Help me not be blind to needs around me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Hurt? Sad? Disappointed? Try Praising God


Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.Psalm 43:5

What are you going through right now besides getting used to new restrictions implemented from Covid 19? Could be bummed out from a relationship problem, job issues, or some other stressor in your life.

I find that not over thinking and speculating too much is the best thing to do plus get some praise and worship music on and just start singing. One night I turned on TBN to Elevation Worship and it just lifted me out of my self imposed pity party. 

Life has ups and downs. Bad times soon end and you just have to not overreact and hang on to hope. Whatever it is you are dealing with, know God loves you and cares and is a prayer away. He loves when you just lift up your voice in song to Him. Maybe that is not the tradition in your church but you should give it a try. I have included a song of worship at the end of devotion today to help you rise above the things weighing you down. Now go be a blessing to someone. 

PRAYER: Lord I need you. I can’t live life on my own. Forgive me when I have attempted to. Use me to bring another peace and joy when they are having a rough time. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Deep Offense



A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offense.Proverbs 19:11

Words can really mess us up and it is so easy to write or say something and be taken totally out of context. It has happened to me and probably it has happened to you.
Words can be misunderstood and wound people. Fires can be set that are hard to extinguish except through time and prayer. Communication is so vital in relationships yet so easily can a person be misinterpreted and judged for something perfectly innocent. Often times those who take offense are hard to win back and only Holy Spirit can deal with the issue.
Spiritual warfare is indeed alive and well on Planet Earth unfortunately and will continue till Jesus’ comes back. Guard your heart, stay off social media where thoughts can pop out and ruin lives. Be willing to forgive when a person has made an unintentional mistake. Now go love one another.

PRAYER: It is so easy to get hurt feelings and become offended. I know taking offense is not from you but is from pit of hell. Help me to focus on good stuff and to truly learn how to overlook things and forgive. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Being Still In An Less Than Still World


Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Psalm 62:5

Everyone likes to stay on schedule wouldn’t you think. Stuff happens though and you have to be able to be adaptable to current situations. Take Covid 19 for instance. Would anyone have been able to predict a public health emergency last December especially in the United States.

As I write this I am sitting parked at the gate of a delayed, due to weather, flight. My first flight since 24 January when I flew to DC for March for Life. Hardly anyone then was concerned about Coronavirus much less heard much about it. Anyway today lots of panic and fear has engulfed society as a result of lack of control of life as you knew it.

So how do you handle disruptions? Go with the flow? Hunker down with a good book such as may I suggest the Bible, and tune in to developing and pursuing peace when you would rather go berserk. The best thing to do is to be still, be thankful, pursue holiness. Ponder ways to help others who are scared. Now go have a good day and seek things ‘above’.

PRAYER: Father God to help me to maintain a good attitude when things go hay wire. Help me to learn to develop peace that only you can give. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Shut Down And Shaken



“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

This is such a different type of world we are living in right now due to social distancing and quarantine because of a disease spreading like wild fire that even the US was not prepared for. What is happening? Most are forced into quietness because of new rules in place to help not spread the virus and eradicate it eventually. 

What do you plan to do today? Work remotely from home? Order groceries to be picked up later in the week? Go for a walk? Read? Play with your children? At least now people can go somewhere in many states and even thankfully travel by air again. 



When you think it is getting under control then poof the ugly disease giant reappears to torment people and erode modern society. Ultimately your trust should not be in doctors, medical breakthroughs, medicine, social distancing measures, and quarantine but in the living God who is in control. He tells us to ‘fear not’ and yes that means now during this time causing extreme anxiety among many. So the next time fear knocks on the door of your heart send faith to answer the door. 

PRAYER: Jesus I know there are many who have underlying medical conditions and for them thus time is rough. I pray for healing for many and for peaceful hearts even in this ‘stormy’ time in our world and know sickness is not your plan so heal our hearts and land. Help me walk by faith not fear. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Take A Love Pause


“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7, NIV)
The verse above is often inserted into Christian wedding ceremonies. If only it could be readily applied and followed not only with a husband and wife but with life in general.
Satan loves to stir up hate and dissent. He is the little weasel mastermind behind any and all of the horrible conflicts occurring on American soil right now. It is not about people but it is about spiritual warfare and demonic spirits who have taken people captive to create havoc. If only people would follow God’s word but destructive spirits will have none of it.
Lots of mean ugly people are out there my friend. Don’t cave to their level of being mean back but instead pray that damage, hate, destruction and evil will cease. Pray for those causing trouble to find Jesus and kick Lucifer out of their life. God and the devil can not co-exist. Read the verse today over and over until you feel it becoming part of you. Is this how you want to be with friends, family, and strangers? Then make it happen.
PRAYER: Your name Lord is above every other name. I need not fear destruction and terror because I have a mighty God and I know who wins in the end. Help me Lord to be strong amongst those who are acting up. Give me kindness even for those who are not kind back. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

WWJD Revisited Daily


Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.Ephesians 4:29
A few years back the phrase WWJD or “what would Jesus do” became popular but it is good to refer to daily. In life you deal with all sorts of people and not all of them are Christlike. Some may be incredibly be spouses, children, friends. To know how to respond like Christ would is important.

Not everyone is led or filled with the Holy Spirit. I heard a message at church a couple weeks ago about the way we respond to people is our reaction to Jesus because he made all of us. Not everyone follows him but still they are His creations and made in His image. 

I am not sure what you are dealing with but I am here to say to you that try as best you can to overlook some people’s ugliness and rude treatment and shine your light. You may have to confront the individual if a family member or close friend and they may get defensive. People can be downright mean. I don’t know who has hurt you with words but forgive them and pray for them. Ask God to make them aware of their verbal abuse and deliver them into his kingdom. Treat everyone like they are Jesus. 

PRAYER: I am so very thankful for the gift of being able to speak, shout, sing, and praise God. The voice is an incredible creation. Help me Father to use my words to build up people and not belittle them or gossip about them. Help me be able to forgive those who have crushed my spirit with their words. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Happy Birthday Freedom!


You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. Galatians 5:13

Today marks the 244th birthday of United States of America not always united but always fighting for liberty, democracy, and religious freedom. Many internal wars have been fought during this time and there is always someone with a wrecking ball attempting to destroy America as we know it.

This is a real time to celebrate. Military members have fought and died to preserve freedom from things like Antifa trying to take over cities. Satan is not idle in the continuing quest for Liberty because he causes agitation, deception, fear, fights, disrespect, division as his chief aim is to destroy any country whose mantle is to follow the word of God.

Only the Holy Spirit entering into a man or woman’s  heart is going to change this. All the rants on social media, political hatred, racial division, infighting and trying to prove your point will never work. There are many lost souls out there and you need to be lifting them up in prayer for God to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to the power of God. Find a good dynamic Bible teaching church home preaching God’s word and every day thank God for freedom and do your part to keep it free. The late President Ronald Reagan said “Freedom is only one generation from extinction” and how right he was.

PRAYER: Oh how I love my freedom. During this Covid 19 loss of freedom I realized just how much. When quarantine hits I felt helpless. Help everyone Lord who values freedom, especially religious freedom to not get jailed for following what the Bible says, be in continual prayer for people to be set free from lies of enemy trying to say what is right and wrong. Guard my heart Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Keep Dancing


And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 
Help me Jesus, is  the response to most calls to businesses during this Covid 19. If you are not used to waiting or have an important issue it can potentially infuriate you to no end. In the human sense you may want to pop a cork. A pre recorded message says “due to Covid 19...”.

Recently when I had an issue with this as I waited on hold in what seems forever I started dancing and singing this Bible verse in a tune I made up just to cope with the frustration building up inside of me. Have you been there and at times you just lose it? You try not to. Be still. Take heart. It might be trying to get important paperwork, do banking, get a driver license in an office closed due to Covid 19, or something similar.

This too shall pass. No reason to raise your blood pressure so if you can attempt to lie down somewhere. Prop your feet up. Turn on some praise and worship music to delight and feed your soul. Just be still. The anger of man never produces the righteousness that God intends it says in JAMES 1:20. 

PRAYER: I ask you to help me be still when situations in life arise that would be better handled calmed down and rational. Forgive me when I have acted otherwise. I want the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5) display always in all scenarios. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Your Plane Is NOT Going Down


Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Many people are fearful of flying and that is okay. I guess it would be natural to be scared when sitting in a hollow metal tube 36000 feet in the air. But really it is safe.

Do you have certain things that make you scared? Rattlesnake encounters? Getting hit head on by a tractor trailer? Dying in a house fire? The death of a child? Being left alone in the dark? Dying of Covid 19? It is common to be fearful but you can control it.

Don’t dwell constantly on doomsday scenarios and the ‘what ifs’ of life or you create instant fear. Today’s verse says to think on good things. Constant fretting over things that may or may not happen only serves to increase your blood pressure and make you mentally ill. Get your mind focused totally on something else. Don’t feed your mind on scary thoughts. I know you can do this!!

PRAYER:Help me Lord to run this race of life to win and part of that is to have right thinking and control my wandering mind. I give you my fear and leave it at the foot of the cross. It is the enemy who tries to torment me and I will not allow it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Not To Worry



Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Psalm 91:9–10

2020 has not disappointed so far in the unpredictable category. It’s only July so what next. 

Are you worried, scared, uncertain of the future? Psalm 91 is a great chapter to read over and over. It helps to settle you if you are a little stirred up. God has many promises in His word for those who follow Him diligently.

Are you able to entrust your life totally and believe God is watching over you? Do you heed His word or barely give Him any time in your day? Some of you may live with someone who has little interest in things beyond Sunday. Don’t guilt them just pray. Stand firm and believe God is going to bring something good out of all this craziness of the past 6 months. 

PRAYER:Father I thank you for the peace I have when I trust in you. I pray for those who are fearful and yet rarely give you any time. Forgive me when I let the world make me think wrong things and get anxious. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
