Conservative radio talk show host Sean Hannity ends his broadcasts each weekday by saying "Let not your hearts be troubled". In todays' world there is much to be troubled about in case you have been away or not paying attention. A government seemingly against the people, rising inflation, the fear of losing our precious God given freedoms, and much much more. But in John 14:1 it says" Let not your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. " Behind the scenes God is at work and has a plan. But He does not want us to roll over and not care about the evil and sin around us. Men fought and died to get America where we are today and fought off tyranny throughout the years.Presently tyranny is at our doorsteps again if the men and women of God do not pray and speak out for freedom. (See 2 Chronicles 7:14).
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 3:17 "Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. " America was founded on Christ and the word of God and the country has slowly slipped away as if in a coma almost taking for granted for years what we have had. We have allowed forces to dictate what is right and wrong apart from God's word. A nation that forgets God and compromises it's virtues away will cease to exist. (See John 15:15). Psalm 33:12 says "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."
In Luke Chapter 21 it mentions "mens' hearts failing them in the last days because of fear." We are not to have fear but to trust in God that he will protect us. Lean on Him, read His word, and get to know Him. Do not take the freedoms we have for granted. Be a active citizen to speak up for right and wrong. There is a saying that says "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing."
PRAYER: Lord we thank you for this free country we live in. Forgive us for so often seeing evil around us and not speaking out. Help us Lord to not only pray but to speak up in love to save the God given freedoms we enjoy to include the freedom to worship you and read your Bible. We do not take that for granted. Help us to hide your word in our hearts so we will not sin against you. (See Psalm 119:11).In Jesus Name. Amen.
