BEAUTY OF GOD'S CREATION

BEAUTY OF GOD'S CREATION

The earth is the Lord and everything in it.(See 1 Corinthians 10:26 and Psalm 24:1). Today I was flying home after being on a cruise. I was looking down through the puffy clouds and seeing the Appalachian Mountain chain thousands of feet beneath me and marveling at God's wonderful creation. He is truly the creator of the heavens and the earth. How some people think all this just 'happened' is beyond me. The heavens declare his name. In Genesis is the story of the creation of the earth. God spoke it into being. In Genesis 1:9 it says, "And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so." The mountains and the hills are his. He made it all. He placed man here on the earth to take care of it.

I am so thankful for mountains, blue skies, rivers, oceans, babbling brooks, green grass, stars, beautiful flowers, citrus groves and apple orchards and much more! He did it all. All his creation is too numerous for this short devotion. Psalm 95:4 says "In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. " In Isaiah 40:12 it says "Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?"

As you travel over the Christmas season, some by plane or some by car, take a look out the window and thank the Lord for the wonderful creation He has made for us to enjoy.

PRAYER: Dear Lord we thank you for this wonderful world we live in. We thank you for the air we breathe, for the things we have to eat. We simply thank you for the miracle of creation. Help us never take it for granted. In Jesus Name. Amen.
