“He must increase, but I must decrease.”John 3:30Do you like to tell everyone your accomplishments or good things you might have done for someone? What about humility? Shouldn’t you strive to make that a character trait as a believer?What about where it says “humble yourself under the mighty hand of God that it due time he will exalt you” (1 Peter 5:6) or “let another praise you and not your own lips” (Proverbs 27:2).All of us have probably been guilty at one time or another of trying to prove to another our greatness or abilities. There is no need to do that. It doesn’t matter what others think. It only matters what God thinks. Some of the most admired people are those that are humble not having to prove themselves to others. Scripture also tells us to “not think more highly of ourselves as we ought to think..(Romans 12:3). Are you able to sit back and give all praise and glory to God?!PRAYER: Father I am sorry for the times I felt a need to puff myself up. Help me to always think of others as better than myself and resist the urge to boast. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
