How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! Psalm 133:1
On Sunday at my church and probably yours as well, it is wonderful to gather and praise and worship the Lord. A good message is preached and now believers are stoked up for the rest of the week. But does that good feeling make it outside the walls of the church? Does the message 'stick' or is it just a formality to go to church? It shouldn't be.
Our church encourages note taking and even if yours doesn't maybe it would be a good practice to jot a few things down. Believers come together in unity and perhaps many are there who do not believe or have never accepted Christ as their savior.
Don't just attend church then forget everything and become a different unchanged person the rest of the week. Practice what is preached. Love, hope, joy, forgiveness, kindness, mercy, grace, generosity. Let your life reflect the love of Christ. Don't allow Satan to turn you into someone hateful and unforgiving the rest of the week. This may even involve loving people who can't stand you. Jesus did all the time. Now go out and act like Christ or why even bother attending on Sunday?
PRAYER: There was a child's song that said "Lord I want to be a Christian in my heart, in my heart" and I truly want to act Christlike 24/7 in this hurting messed up world. Give me your strength to do so. In Jesus' name. Amen.
