Be A Person Of Truth

Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, But those who deal faithfully are His delight. Proverbs 12:22

In this day and age it is so common place to tell lies. Almost to the point you don't know what or who to believe. This practice is detestable to God.

Everyone has probably lied at one point or another but know now it should not be occurring at all. Even people on witness stands with their hand on the Bible have lied and as well as presidents taking the oath of office on a Bible. It is utterly shameful. 

What little lies are in your life? There is no such thing as a white lie. Somehow when you say it was just a 'white lie' it seems to seem less like a lie but it is still a LIE. Start today to purge all things from your life that are less than truthful. Tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God. 

PRAYER: Lord I have lied in the past and was ashamed of myself. I always want to be a person of truth, integrity, and good character. Help me never be tempted to lie. In Jesus' name. Amen.

NOTE: There was a Hollywood movie out entitled 'The Good Lie' which at first I did not want to see just because of the title but it was a true story about Sudanese siblings resettling in the United States and one brother let his brother use his passport because they looked alike. His brother said "But that is a lie" to which he responded "but it is a good lie" trying to give his brother a chance for a better life. It is a 2014 release starring Reese Witherspoon. Not a Christian film, PG 13.
