WHY SHAKE YOUR HEAD?

Have there been times when you sort of feel like giving up and you just shake your head? Instead of shaking your head try bowing your head and praying instead. It is so easy to be puzzled by things happening around us. Things can exasperate us. Instead of asking why,maybe say " why not" and "what do I need to learn through this situation?"

To shake your head is sort of a way through body language of saying "I can't believe that!" Sometimes when we shake our head we shake it in judgment against someone too. If you are tempted to judge, try to pray for the person you are judging instead.

If you are a parent of adult children, shaking of the head often occurs when we hear of our children doing something against how we raised them. Perhaps you are perplexed and discouraged. This is the time to trust God and pray more. It is Satan who brings you the discouragement.

I can imagine there were lots of head shakers when Jesus caught the woman in act of adultery. Kind of like saying "Can you believe her. What a tramp." Read John 8:1-11 for this account.

Matthew 7:1 reminds us "Judge not so you will not be judged." Luke 18:1 tells us to "Pray and never give up!"

Are you a 'head shaker'? Try being a person of prayer and a praiser instead and see if that does not cure you.

PRAYER: Lord you are good and your mercies endure forever. From the rising of the sun till the time it goes down your name is to be praised. Help me Lord to focus on you and do less head shaking. In Jesus name. Amen.
