Playing God

All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:47

 Who are we as arrogant humans to play God and change what His word says? That is exactly what many people are trying to do today and we could be in danger of losing religious freedom as well as free speech as a believer. The word of God is the word of God. It never changes. We are not God and we are not to act like we are. Courts are not God. Judges are not God. God is God.

Beware trying to take away or add to what the word says. It is pretty clear. When a nation founded on Christian principles starts trying to rule their own way, which has been happening, we are in trouble. But there is hope. Mere men are not ultimately in control, thank goodness. The power of prayer is there and we have a mighty God.

Whose voice are you listening to today?

PRAYER: Forgive us Lord when we pervert the word of God and try to change things because we feel it is the thing to do. Help us love one another but not give the devil a foothold in our land any more than he already has. Keep lies far from me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
