Don't Leave Home Without Him!

The name of the Lord is a fortified tower. The righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10

There's a credit card commercial that reminds the viewer to "don't leave home without it" meaning you better be using our card to get great deals and be able to buy things. Credit cards can get you into lots of trouble as well. The one thing you should never leave home without is Jesus, yet many well meaning people do daily. "What do you mean Becky, I am a Christian!"

Many name the name of Jesus and sort of are like a 'club member' doing what they think it necessary but nothing more. People who only give Jesus one little hour each week on Sunday are missing out on the protection He provides in your daily life. Church sermons are given where the preacher could  mention getting closer to God and spending time with Him, yet these people go home and fall into same  routine of shutting Him completely out of their day except for a standard dinner time prayer being uttered. It could be that there are those who really don't want to spend time as they are rushed and it is too "religious" for them. These are the ones who Satan likes to get to. They have no 'armor' on to keep away his fiery arrows He shoots daily.

Today if you hear His voice do not harden your heart and do not play Holy Spirit for others.

PRAYER: There was a time I used to be that Sunday person and then my eyes were opened. I pray for those who may not desire you yet just desire church. Bring them a personal encounter with the King of Kings. In Jesus' name. Amen.

  1. Becky: I like what you say here. I have found that some of us have fallen into this habit of 'Sunday Christianity' because they have never had a personal encounter with Jesus. I heard the phrase "personal encounter" last Sunday in our pastor's sermon. I wrote on it for a column for next week. If you don't mind, I will try to send you the link when it goes live.
