A PERFECT WORLD
Have you ever imagined what it would have been like if Eve had not been tempted by the serpent and disobeyed God? If Adam had not eaten the forbidden fruit then later played the first ever blame game when God spoke to him in the garden? We would be in a sin free world basically and maybe running around with no 'fig leaves' on. Yikes.
Sometimes I think about the decision about 50 years ago to take prayer out of the public schools. Because there was a misinterpretation of the constitution about 'church and state' we end up almost with a Godless society. Imagine had judges in the Supreme Court not ruled against prayer in the schools. We would not now be over our heads in tolerance and political correctness but would be a nation that feared, loved, and respected God, the Bible, and the Ten Commandments. More than likely we would also not be a nation that condones and protects the right to kill babies in the mother's womb in the name of women's rights. It is a sick world we live in when sin is readily accepted and Christian things are shunned or banned. The acceptance recently of two men or two women marrying is also against God's word. Many are confused and caught up in this sin. Satan has really done a number on many people and they are blinded to the truth or justifying what they are doing and do not see the harm in their actions or the actions of others. Yes indeed, we need God in America and in the world. He has not gone anywhere but sometimes he just let's you go about ignoring Him and suffer the consequences.
Romans 1:18-32 is long but bears copying here. It says "The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."
In 1 Peter 2:25 it says "But the word of the Lord remains forever. And that word is the Good News that was preached to you." It does not change to fit the 'times' or to make light of sinful behaviour. There is good and there is evil. Period. Remember in Romans 3:23 it says "We ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's glory" and that means ALL of us. Because in today's world many want to continue their sin making excuses for it and getting some within the church even confused there is only one answer. Sin is sin.
We are in Spiritual warfare and there is Satan or there is God. You either love Jesus and follow his word or you follow the lies of Satan who is the great liar and deceiver. Scripture calls human 'angel of light'(See 2 Corinthians 11:14). Satan will disguise himself and the sins he readily tricks Christian with and give you plenty of excuses to justify certain behavior. That does not change God's word.We must know the truth of God found in His word so we can combat the lies of the enemy and his attempts to get us to justify sin.
PRAYER: Lord thank you so much for the Word of God which is truth. Father I pray that I am never deceived by Satan to believe lies and justify sin. Keep me alert and in the battle for good and evil and run my race to win. In Jesus Name. Amen.
