Here we are again on the brink of what I call national IRS day or giving to Caesar what is Caesar's. Maybe indeed it is our patriotic duty of sorts to obey the law and file our taxes. Many taxes are unnecessary or may support immoral things, but until the laws are changed you must abide by them. Never mind that in the past there have been infamous lawmakers who have skipped paying taxes. Do the right thing and insure you do your civic duty to pay what you owe.
Speaking of money, hopefully it is in your heart to be generous to the Lord as well. Not under compulsion but because in your heart you know it is the right thing to do. God loves cheerful givers. If you have a sour attitude about sharing with ministries or your church then ask God to change your heart of stone and give you a compassionate generous heart. Don't give to get noticed but because you want to. In secrecy is best.
Be thankful for what God has blessed you with. Be thankful for the ability to earn enough to pay taxes. Pray for the things supported by taxes which are not right to be repealed. Now go and have a blessed day.
PRAYER: I am grateful to live in a free nation. Some do not have this privilege. I pray for those who make our laws to be led with honesty and integrity and if anyone is doing otherwise may he or she not stay in office long. In Jesus' name. Amen.
