TIME FOR GOD

Do you call yourself a Christian? Are you excited to go to church on Sunday? Do you love his word? Do you love Bible study? Do you love Christian music? If you do not perhaps you need to reexamine your life and maybe find a church 'on fire' for the Lord where his word is alive and people are real and not just religious. Do not let tradition keep you from a closer walk with God. Just because Grandma went to such and such church does not mean you are being 'fed' there. Go where you can 'grow in Christ' . Following Christ is not about being a 'church member' or punching in on Sunday but it is about desiring Him more than gold. You may have been hurt in church or saw it as phony. It is time to let go of the past experiences and reach out and try again.

God never withholds any good thing from us but yet many of us only find time for one little hour each week and we think that is enough. That is not true intimacy with God. You can not know him by only going to church one hour and not picking up a Bible all week. Many communities have awesome contemporary Christian radio stations with awesome praise music which can lift your spirit. Some of these even have great Bible teaching as well.

Just like you want to know your friends better the only way to do that is to make time for them. Likewise you have to make time for God to know Him.

The things of this world will never satisfy Lord only you will. You will find much wisdom in the Bible. Proverbs 3:13-15 tells us " Blessed are those who find wisdom,  those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.  She is more precious than rubies;  nothing you desire can compare with her." Matthew 5:6 says "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

What do you spend time doing? How much time do you watch television or read magazines? Next time you feel like reading "People' maybe read about 'real people' in God's word. If you do not know where to begin may I suggest start in the book of John or Psalms. Have fun on your journey to know the Lord better and give him more time in your day.

PRAYER: Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me.(Psalm 51:10). I want to know you better and have a personal relationship with you Lord. Forgive me for ignoring you and not taking time to spend time in your word. Help me Lord as I seek to discipline myself to spend more time getting to know you.Create in me today a hunger for you and your word.  In Jesus Name, amen!
