Bad stuff happens. It is part of life. The good news is things always get better. There is a rainbow ahead. Tragedy strikes, jobs are lost, sickness occurs, but there is also happiness and good news ahead too.
Psalm 46:1 says "God is our refuge and strength,an ever-present help in trouble."
Words sometimes can not console someone in shock or in deep grief. Prayer is the answer. A new day is dawning and things will be brighter.
My last three devotions have focused on helping people here in the Southeast, particularly Alabama who have experienced utter devastation on this past Wednesday. One moment you can be fine and then all of a sudden disaster strikes and life changes. The good news is God is still God and life will go on. Time heals wounds.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 says "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." Reach out and help and give a word of kindness to those who are hurting.
You may not live where an F4 tornado just destroyed hundreds of homes but wherever you are there are people hurting for various reasons. Be willing to be a source of joy to those God puts in your path.
Psalm 30:5 says " For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning."
PRAYER : Lord I thank you for having the joy of the Lord in my heart. When I feel overwhelmed help me trust in you and know you Lord are with us and care what we are going through. Help me Lord look for ways to reach out to the hurting. In Jesus name. Amen.
