For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Christmas Day has arrived. Another day for overeating, family reunions, unappreciated gifts, high credit card bills but what about joy and the real meaning of this day. Have you captured that? Too often once the gifts are unwrapped we settle back into the ho hum humdrum of life. It does not have to be that way.Reflect on all this day means. A baby born in a barn so to speak. He had to be hidden as a vicious king was out to kill him. He grew up to be the savior of the world. He was despised, rejected, a man of sorrows. On this most Holy of days we reflect on His birth and what it means. The miracle of it all. Ponder in your heart the story of a baby in a manger and make sure you include it in your day. He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. He is more than a babe in a manger.PRAYER: Christmas is a giant birthday party for you Lord but often turned into a party for ourselves. How that happens I don't know. I pray for families with children to be able to celebrate and reflect upon what this day really is about. In Jesus' name. Amen.
