This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Hebrews 6:19
object connected to a rope or chain used to hold a ship or boat in place in the open water. An anchor keeps the vessel from drifting on our into the waters.
When you think of an anchor what comes to mind. For most it is probably the heavy iron
Jesus Christ is the anchor of our souls. If you stay connected to him you will not drift into worldliness and things that can cause hurt and pain. This connection is maintained by daily time alone with God.
How do achieve this daily quiet time you might ask. First and foremost make it truly a priority and if you live with someone who isn’t making it a priority don’t nag them simply pray for them. The Holy Spirit is the one who draws people unto Christ. In your heart you have to be convicted of your need for him so no amount of hounding anyone will create a desire for knowing God better. Press in each day because Satan will throw distractions at you so you have to be purposeful.
PRAYER: Lord every day I need you. Before I get going a thousand different ways help me stay focused on setting time alone with you before anything else. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
