Keep Focused On Freedom In Christ

Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices.Exodus 34:15

What is the first thing you do each morning? Are you conditioned by ‘the world’ to check news feeds or grab a newspaper? To keep focused on things above and being free in Christ it is necessary to discipline your mind to do away with the things the media is trying to spoon feed you that most people believe.

Do you take freedom for granted or are you aware for several years now evil forces have been trying to purge freedom, Christianity, democracy, and truth from our country? Satan sends his demon spirits which in many cases start to drag down those people who were never really committed to Him but then these evil spirits also stir up brothers and sisters in Christ creating division.

Have your senses discerned and feed your mind on scripture and truth not worldly news whose mission is not to have you grow in Christ but many times to suck you into false narratives and give you a cocky hateful spirit. Pray for anyone you may know who has slipped into the enemies camp maybe without realizing the dangers.

PRAYER: Lord I have been guilty of getting sucked into morning shows that add nothing to my life and separate me from you. Give me strength to abide in you and your word 100%. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Breathe In,Breathe Out,Then Pray

Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. Psalm 107:28-30

Have you ever had a nagging concern over a situation that you let your mind get out of control to the point you start to lose peace? I know I have.

Teen late getting home. Haven’t heard from husband who has been deployed. People losing jobs so you assume you will as well. Afraid you will get Covid 19. Haven’t heard from grown children and assume the worst. Concerned about nation becoming communist.

You can spend your life freaking out and losing peace or you can choose to trust God in the ups and downs that he will take care of things. Simply pray, relax, stay in scripture and try to relax replacing fear with faith. Breathe in, breathe out. Take a nap.

PRAYER: I am so thankful that I don’t need to let the devil torment me with worries and use my time praying instead. When I feel the urge to let my mind wander help me run to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Forgive Even When A Person May Not Deserve It

"For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."Matthew 12:37

Probably not a person reading this has not been hurt verbally or emotionally by someone, usually very close to you. Your choices are to fly off the handle and fight back or let it go giving person benefit of the doubt.

People start early with name calling, being bullies, letting cursing become their vocabulary and many hurting people turn around and hurt other people. God has to be the one to reach down and bring ultimate healing. Some who are the person hurting may come from a background where they were hurt with words.

It hurts to be the recipient of harsh treatment from another’s mouth but unless you are in physical danger try to pray for the person who lashed out and don’t try to straighten them out but let the Holy Spirit convict and intercede.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I know it breaks your heart when your ‘children’ treat others poorly attacking them with foul language or ugly talk. Convict people who may not even be aware of it and give grace to those who are recipients. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Do You Feel Tired And Withered Up?

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you.2 Peter 3:9
Some days do you feel like throwing in the towel sitting in a corner and having a good cry? I feel if you are honest all of us have been there feeling tired, weary, stretched to the limit, wondering where to go from here.
Maybe it is time to get rid of things in your life taking you away from God. Satan is the big discourager and he is the one who makes you feel worthless, confused, worn out and hopeless but he is a LIAR.
My friend you are called by God and have a purpose. He can use you. Sometimes you may never know this side of Heaven how he used you but he does. Hang on my friend. Read the book of Psalms, call a friend, above all pray.
PRAYER: You are magnificent Lord and you keep me running the race to win. I will kick Satan under the bus and refuse to believe the garbage dump he tries to put in my head. I am redeemed and set free. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thanksgiving Day Is Here...Do People Even Care Anymore?

I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.Psalm 7:17
I find it very very sad that many people due to reeducation in progressive public schools don't even know about the Christian roots of Thanksgiving. They are too busy bashing Americans' treatment of Indians and trying to toss prayer out of the schools. Such a sad state for a country founded on God and having a distinct Christian holiday which now is often relegated to 'Turkey Day'.

Our society can not hardly wait for Christmas as Thanksgiving is forgotten except for football and black Friday. One of the things I want to do some November is travel to Plymouth Rock and take it all in. If you are a parent, take time to get a children's book about Thanksgiving and read the story to your children. It may do you well to hear it again also. Don't make this day about parades, football, shopping and stuffing yourself with food but stop and do something a bit different. Ask people what they are thankful for. Tell the story of the Pilgrims.

The Pilgrims were so grateful to be in a free world and start a new life without religious persecution but odd how anti Christian and anti American forces have infiltrated this once free country. There is no other country like America but evil forces are trying to put an end to that so really pray this Thanksgiving maybe even take time to say the Lord’s Prayer together at your dinner table. Don’t just shrug it off as another fun day.

PRAYER: I am ever so grateful for freedom we have here in America and during Covid times even more grateful after mandatory masking and lockdowns. Heal our land Lord of this dreadful pandemic that has created an atmosphere for tyranny. Help me never assume anything and always give thanks. In Jesus’ name! Amen.

Deletion

November 23 devotion was deleted due to the offense of a reader and me not wanting to ruin my testimony or support of readers and create conflict. The purpose was never intended to agitate people but in this climate we live in in 2020 it is not hard to cause unintended division, if you choose to read it it can be found on my Echoes of Freedom page on Facebook. Thanks for your love and understanding.?

Comparison Is A Joy Robber

For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. James 3:16

No matter what it is you are comparing whether it is vacations, your weight, level of fitness, house, time with grandchildren, talents and abilities, income, car you drive, comparing is a tool of the enemy. It gets you feeling unsatisfied and left out.

God wants you to be grateful and content no matter where you are at in your journey of life. Feeling discontent means you are not trusting God to see you through and believe he has good things for you.

This day choose joy, choose peace, choose contentment. Be happy where you are as God uses you in all sorts of places. Run and thank God all the time!

PRAYER: Father forgive  me for times I have wished I had a different life or certain stuff that the world says I need to be happy. True contentment is knowing you so use me to help others understand that. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Beyond The Hashtag#

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.Romans 12:18

The current times in which you live are inundated with hashtags #️⃣ or what I used to call the pound or number sign. You can put hashtag before a word and click on it to be taken to a wealth of information about a certain subject or group.

Have you ever wanted to get away from computers, social media, hashtags, and everything surrounding them? How does a nice walk by the ocean sound or a hike in the woods, without devices screaming at you. How about a hotel room without a television? I mean I need my device to do this devotion but what I purpose to do is to live intentionally beyond hashtags and all the things causing noise  in the world.

What is really important? God, family, life, friends, happiness. Being still in a ‘wound up‘ world can be a challenge but with practice you can achieve a measure of stillness in your life without the hashtags beckoning you to keep searching. Give it a try.

PRAYER: I love life and get amazed with all the technology that has been developed but sometimes it is time to take a break. Help me Lord as I seek to carve out this time weekly in my schedule. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Season Of Giving Just Around The Corner

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38

To say it’s been quite an unusual year would be an extreme understatement. Hopefully it is NOT the new normal.

Holidays still occur during a pandemic and seemingly one of the favorites is Christmas especially for children. Start coming up with ideas about how you can bless someone and maybe even anonymously. There is a verse in Acts 20:35 that says  “it is more blessed to give than receive” and that is very true.

Many charities at this time of year could use monetary or material donations such as Salvation Army(Red Kettle drive), Toys for Tots(US Marine Corps), Angel Tree( Prison Fellowship), Samaritan’s Purse(Operation Christmas Child) and many more. Pay it forward for a stranger in line at grocery or fast food. Tip wait staff larger even if they did lousy job. Just be a happy good deed doer and see if you don’t feel better.

PRAYER:Lord use me to bless another for Christmas and year round. Help kindness not just be because it’s Christmas. Open my eyes and heart to needs. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

In Love With This World?

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20

This world is not your home you are simply passing through. This strange year of Covid you probably been missing some of your worldly distractions. Americans are not used to being told to stay home and not go anywhere.

In many parts of the nation the lockdown continues as more coronavirus cases overwhelmed medical systems. This is a time to really think about the things and people you miss and appreciate.

The wonderful pleasures of this world are okay just don’t worship the earth and the fun here but let your worship and praise be to Almighty God the creator of the universe.

PRAYER: There is none like you Lord Jesus. I worship you and thank you for the blessings in my life.I know Heaven will be phenomenal and indescribable. Help me live a life here to help others find you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Family First!

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:1-2

I know many people when you ask what is first place in their lives the answer is always family. Did you know that is how God would answer too?

You and I were made by God and created for a distinct purpose even though many deny his existence or do not give him much time during their busy days. We are His children.

Think how much you love your children and imagine God loving you the same. If you don’t have children think of family members. If you don’t have a cozy relationship with family that can be a matter of prayer. Also if you want to believe God loves you just read the Bible in the book of John. You are first and He is waiting to hear from you.

PRAYER:God is our Father and we are to respect and honor Him. He gave his only son Jesus so you and I could have salvation. Father help me be able to be a light to lead another to the foot of the cross for their heavenly Fathers love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Firmly Planted??

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither- whatever they do prospers.Psalms 1:1-3

Are you firmly planted in God’s garden by this I mean are you able to weather the storms of life that come your way without withering, wilting, or dying?

The streams of water referred to above would be staying rooted in Christ by reading and meditating on God’s word daily or even throughout the day.You get refreshed by this and by fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters.

Are you standing in the presence of sinners? Sure we all are because each of us has sinned. What we are to do is to stand up and stand out for the kingdom and don’t collapse and cave in to your sinful nature. You know the word of God by studying it and can be used to help win the lost to Christ. Stay rooted firmly for God’s glory.

PRAYER:Father it is my desire to be strong in you and be able to be flexible enough and willing enough to be used for you.Forgive me if I ever run and hide like Jonah but I choose to be a vessel you can use to reach others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Real Heart Of Worship Ahead!

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” – John 4:23

What is worship? Some would say going to church but my answer is the ability to sing praises to the Lord most high with gusto and feeling.

Today’s verse speaks of a time when true worshipers will worship in Spirit and truth or in other words from the depths of their souls. Stop for a moment and picture Jesus coming down in clouds of glory. Oh what a awesome sight to behold. No one has a clue how they will react.

Do you love the Lord God with all your heart? If not what is more important? Do you want to love Him more than anything and really get to be a worshiper instead of a church goer? Talk to him in prayer today.

PRAYER: There was a time I felt dead in my spirit and paid little attention to getting closer to you. I am thankful for the people you used to bring me closer. I pray for anyone today who wants that kind of relationship to find you and fall in love with you.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Laughing At The Devil

“…He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”1 John 4:8

There are many tense upset people right now due to the election cheating fiasco. God is not wringing his hands because he is in control and He just laughs at the devil.

Why don’t you try an exercise. First start praising God. Next pray. Finally just laugh out loud at Satan and tell him he is puny, miserable, a loser, and not in charge. Tell him you know who holds the future.

The next time he causes fear(false evidence appearing real) you tell him you only listen to God not ‘news media’ he has deceived or anyone else. Gods’ plans will stand so you have no reason to fear my friend.

PRAYER: I am excited Lord because prophecy is coming true before our eyes. I pray for friends and family who have followed Satan unknowingly and who have become hateful and mean. I ask you set them free and take blinders off their eyes. Only you are Lord and what is unfolding is exciting. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Intoxicating Demonic Spirits

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.1 John 4:1

God is working my friend despite news media doing all they can to lead people astray. We are in a war like never before coming against an unlikely President I feel  God chose but who liberals love to hate.

Spiritual warfare is real. So many are being led astray by intoxicating spirits masquerading as news media who don’t even realize they have been captivated. This is a war for saving our great United States of America from forces who want it to be Communist. It is not a joke!

Don’t argue with others or get caught up yourself in intoxication of news flashes and reports but keep yourself into the word and on prayer lines lifting up the name of Jesus. So many are caught in a web of deception because Satan is causing disruption keep that in mind. Our battle is against forces of darkness trying to destroy freedom. Don’t be deceived! Turn off the TV!

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I come against the dark evil hanging over us in America trying to destroy us. It has captivated many I know who take their anger out on people who disagree with them. Lord Jesus I claim America for the kingdom and ask that dark evil demonic spirits come out. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Covered Wagon Syndrome

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.Isaiah 43:19

Many people right now feel disjointed, confused, anxious, lonely, despairing primarily due to Covid and election season as well but couple that with sickness, death, job loss,  a cross country move, and then things are even more accentuated.

The ‘covered wagon syndrome’ came to me as I was feeling gloomy one day sort of a giant pity party but then thinking about during cowboy days when families struck out leaving places back East to settle in the West. No family, friends, or even an idea what they would encounter. No phones, email, post offices, and on it goes. Sickness, death, wilderness, all sorts of challenges. At least we can pick up a phone and even FaceTime too.

If you prayed about something and had peace about it, don’t second guess yourself, know that God is still there and He has a plan. Try as best you can to get up and get some praise and worship music going and open your Bible not the newspaper. It is necessary to train your mind to be positive and thankful no matter what. Lean in to God and tell the devil to take a hike as you don’t need his negativity and lies and you are a child of God. Oh yes, keep praying too.

PRAYER: Today is another day Lord you have given me. A day of new possibilities and full of hope. Guard my heart to only listen to you Lord. When I get afraid I will trust in you and count my blessings. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Climb On And Buckle Up!

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. Isaiah 55:8

What is God doing right now in America? Are you prepared for revival? Time to gird up your loins so to speak and buckle up for the journey.

None of us are here at this time by accident. There is an appointed time and season for everyone for “such a time as this”. Are you using the gifts God gave you or are you coasting through life knowing there is more and knowing you need a life giving church home to plug into?

Why am I here? What is my role Lord? Why do I feel like I am going crazy? Even seemingly bad stuff not caused by God like a pandemic can be turned around and used for his glory! Do you want to be close to God? Is he knocking at the door of your heart? Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

PRAYER: I need you Lord. I  am sorry I don’t pay attention to when you are tugging at my heart. Help me have courage to say no to wrong things taking me away from you. Use me Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Feeling Numb?

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.Romans 16:20

Sometimes lately it feels like a battle to stay positive particularly after a long season of Covid confinement, no hugs or handshakes, coupled with the confusion of the election season  which still is not final.

Why does 2020 have to be this way? God what are you trying to teach us?

Simply be still. Listen to some worship music. Keep off the television or other distractions. Open your Bible and read. You will find many answers and much comfort way more in the pages of the Bible than on social media. Keep running your race to win and stay positive.

PRAYER: Oh God you are my help in good times and bad. I will not listen to lies of the enemy which try to get me upset and off course. I continue to press on and run the race ahead of me looking always to you.In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Home Of The Free

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.John 15:13

Today is the day to honor Veterans. A veteran is not necessarily a retiree or served in combat but can be like some who serve in peacetime too. Anyone who gave up part of their life to the Armed Forces is a Veteran. Unlike Memorial Day which honors those killed in service to their country today honors anyone who served and was honorably discharged.

Think about the every day freedoms you enjoy if you live here in America. Many of you have friends who immigrated legally to the United States for a better life. Wars have been fought to keep America a beacon of freedom. Recent acts by social media to silence voices cuts into the rights given to us by the First Amendment.

Always be on your guard because evil people are out there trying to destroy what veterans served for. The Founding Fathers had a great vision and you and I are to uphold the Constitution and speak out when dangerous people infiltrate trying to remake America. Our currency says “In God We Trust” for a reason. Stand firm against anyone trying to weasel their way into public office who wants to turn this country into something you would not recognize. Pray daily and stay involved so you know what is happening. Don’t take freedom for granted and oh yes, thank a Vet!

PRAYER: Glory Glory hallelujah His truth is marching on and I pray it continues to march on. I pray for those people trying to infiltrate education at all levels pre K through college to try to reshape minds of students against the American ideal. I pray victory over communism in America and pray many would be vigilant to recognize lies from truth. Also protect those active duty troops serving today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Dragging Stuff Out Of The Streams

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Isaiah 41:10

Thoughts can float through our minds like leaves on a stream. You don’t take every leaf out of the stream so likewise thoughts need to be controlled.

Wrong thinking can trigger OCD episodes and just irrational thoughts. Every worry isn’t going to turn into reality. You have to relax. You can imagine things that will never transpire. To be emotionally healthy you have to get your focus on something else.

To be emotionally and spiritually healthy your focus has got to be on the Lord and His promises to you. You can’t let the devil drag up old stinking thinking and not reject it with a promise from God. Are you dragging up trash and sewage as it floats by in your mind? Take authority in Jesus name and clean your mind with God’s word.

PRAYER: I confess I often let the devil take control of my thought life and I know better. I fight back with your word of truth Lord. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Get Infused With Jesus Love!

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Revelation 21:4Sitting behind a Ford Fusion at a stoplight recently gave me another topic idea for my writing. How about an infusion of the love of God in your life!?You know He does love you with an everlasting love whether you feel like it or not. In the times we are in currently dealing with rules, lockdown, masks, social distancing you may not feel much like loving but that does not negate the fact that Jesus loves you. The joy of the Lord can be your strength and you can talk back to the devil when you start feeling a case of the blues or self pity.

Let Jesus bring you his peace, freedom from fear, the joy of living. The enemy Satan is the one who uses his demonic powers to bring discouragement, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, hopelessness. He is the greatest liar and deceiver. Run to Jesus. Open your Bible and start reading the book of John in the New Testament. Ask God to fill you with his love for people and to use you to bring joy to another.

PRAYER:Father help me with my emotions when I start feeling like I can’t go on or I am worthless or there is no end in sight I know those are lies. I have value and worth and want to make a difference. In Jesus’ name. Amen. You

Refresh My Spirit Lord

The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn. – Proverbs 4:18

Do you ever just feel beat up or like you have been shaken up? Right now in the times we are living in in 2020 it is essential to make time for the Lord and also a time for stillness.

Don’t try to figure things out. Be still in your heart and with your mouth. Doesn’t God hear me you may wonder as it seems things don’t change or become worse.

Moments of refreshment come when you are intentional about wanting to spend time with the Lord. Just talk out loud to Him if you can. Refresh another by a kind word to them. You never know what someone may be going through. Stay strong.

PRAYER: Father I need your in good times and bad and I need to be more consistent with time alone with you. I would never not brush my teeth so let my time with you be just as crucial. In Jesus’ name. Amen

New Adventures

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.1 Timothy 6:12

I am quite sure everyone is ready to go on a vacation or a new adventure. These isolated Covid times coupled with a screaming divided world and a heated close election have been quite enough thank you very much.

As thoughts of self pity yearning for an adventure enveloped me one day I was watching Christian TV and saw a commercial for hungry half naked children in a third world nation and it made my ‘issues’ small by comparison. Really what do we Westerners have to complain about?Sure we have problems everyone does but it is how you handle them.

Thinking of others and how you can show kindness could be one adventure. Get outside and enjoy nature. Turn off electronics. Pray. Finally don’t  lose heart as God still reigns.

PRAYER:As a soldier of Christ I press on daily trusting you for each day. Everything will be okay and help me convey that to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Communication Can Be Dicey

“Kind words are like honey – sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”Proverbs 16:24

Communication is such a wonderful gift from God and the tools of communication as well. Through the years mankind used smoke signals, Morse code, ham radio, carrier pigeon to our more modern devices.

Alas talking and sharing but still you need to do so with caution and think before you speak. Have you ever been accused of guilting, talking too much, telling secrets, breaking a verbal vow,  judging,  lying, or gossip? You can see it is essential to use words with care.

If you have hurt someone with misspoken words ask forgiveness and then be able to forgive yourself. Do a word study in scripture about the tongue, words, the mouth and purpose in your heart your words in person, on your social media, and on the phone will only bring glory to God.

PRAYER: I am grateful for being able to speak. Help me as I seek to bring glory to you Lord and not be like the ‘world’. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What Does God Want?

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. " (Proverbs 14: 34)

What is righteousness and what is sin? This recent election challenged Christians to vote their values. You should live those values as well.

Sin brings nations down. Righteousness sets them free. Men and women of perverse hearts have trouble guiding others. Let me just say that ALL of us have sinned but to live standards reflecting on what the truth in God’s word is is quite another thing.

We as nation need to repent. We have slapped God in the face by destroying prayer in public schools, allowing the legal slaughter of innocent babies in the womb, trying to authorize sex changes for those unhappy with the gender their creator God gave them, turning  God’s truth into a lie and worship his creation but not the Creator, and finally saying two people of same sex can marry. Satan has blinded the eyes of many to include some believers who defend certain practices. So friend don’t judge others not living a righteous life but be their friend and keep praying for them. Keep looking to the cross.

PRAYER:Father protect me from any tricks of the enemy to try to believe lies. Satan has no control over me and he cannot have my country or people I love either. Help the truth set people free. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God’s Perfect Timing

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.2 Corinthians 4:8-10

Many times you may pray about an issue and years go by and you feel you must have done something wrong because seemingly nothing has transpired on the particular prayer concern. God’s timetable is not the same as ours.

Whatever the issue is God has not abandoned you. Your prayers have been heard and the wheels are in motion so to speak. The prayer will be answered just exactly how God sees fit.

In the meantime don’t dwell on negative things. Get involved in a dynamic church and stay connected to your brothers and sisters in Christ. Sometimes your prayers even impact those who are lifting you up. I find it exciting how God works. So do not despair and stay hopeful and positive knowing God has this.

PRAYER: Thanks so very much for the comfort I find in reading the word. Thanks for Christian friends you place in my path to be my guides along life’s journey and ups and downs. Thanks for even using me in someone else’s journey as well. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

May God’s Chosen Reign

When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.Proverbs 29:2

Many verses in the Bible speak of leadership and authority as well as rulers and kings. God fearing people should vote wisely and should also realize deception runs rampant as we are involved in a spiritual war.

Know my friend that God is in control and on the throne regardless. This election cycle has brought accusations, lies, anger and only the Holy Spirit can speak truth to convict.

The United States is a place like no other and has stood as a lighthouse of freedom since its’ founding. There have always been those who tried to trick people so as you vote, vote for Biblical truth and remember this is a nation of truth and law and order. What you have been seeing going on with riots and chaos is demonic warfare trying to destroy freedom. Stand strong and vote smart.

PRAYER:Lord your truth will march on as long as people called by your name humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways as it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Bring a great revival to this land! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What I Miss

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning, great is yourfaithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23

This year after about the first part of March took many by surprise. Even though we have lots of restrictions now we are still blessed in America. But I still miss quite a few things. Crowded subways in DC, air travel, hugs, group hugs, movie theaters, plays, a house full of people, visiting a sick friend in hospital, standing close to people in line, keeping my face uncovered and so forth. Some can’t even meet at church yet even if they wore a mask.

Have you pondered what you are grateful for during this season of life? For many it is still having a job as your business was not closed or you were not furloughed. Maybe it is staying well. Getting a phone call makes most people smile.

Think of the things in life you took for granted before and you will see how truly blessed you are.

PRAYER: Lord you are wonderful and do great things each and every day. Even in the turmoil of this Covid season you have been good. I choose to use my down time to get  closer to you through your word.In Jesus’ name.Amen.

Giant Pity Parties

May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. 2 Thessalonians 3:5

Have you thrown any pity parties lately? No one ever attends except you.It can be easy to dwell on negative and start thinking no one cares.2020 has been especially fertile ground for pity parties.

If you find yourself attending a pity party stop right then and there and give praise to God for what he has blessed you with. Start writing down things you have to be thankful for. Get outside and go for a walk. Pray. Put on some Christian music. Next focus on Christ and Christ in you.

2020 is certainly a test for emotional and spiritual stamina. Give God those issues that caused you to have your pity party. Talk to Him out loud if you can. Get your mind trained to focus on uplifting things and not things you don't have. The enemy will grab you if you don't get centered on Christ.Just remember you are worthy and you are the righteousness of God in Christ.

PRAYER; I know Lord you have a plan to use me in your kingdom and here on Earth. Help me glorify God each and every day and not let thisi life be about me.Use me to do your work. In Jesus' name. Amen.
