Don’t Let The Devil Win

 “The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not.” 2 Corinthians 4:4

How do you feel today? Are problems swirling about you? Do you feel worn out? 

Friend , you need to be on your knees. The times we are living in are volatile and confusing. Satan causes that confusion and lying.

Wake up and be a warrior. Put on your spiritual armor daily to be able to protect yourself from the evil that is around you. Don’t just exist but fight this battle and guard your mind and heart. 

PRAYER: I thank you Lord for the Holy Spirit that helps awaken those blinded by Satan. Put a hedge of protection around those I know and love not living for you. Pray for revival in the hearts of men. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Memorial Day

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”John 15:13

Memorial Day is the designated day when we honor the men and women of the Armed Forces of the United States who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, giving their very lives. All veterans whether killed during serving their country or died in non combat can be interned in a US Cemetery. 

Todays youth unless taught by their parents don’t learn honor and respect. Our country is much different from when I was a teen and no I was not in a covered wagon. Anyway do your family, your bank account, and those who gave their life so you could do what pleases you on this day the benefit of taking time to really think about what this day means. 

The flag at half staff today is the real purpose of half staff not for any other reason except an officials death. Today take time to think about those who gave their lives both here on this soil and in foreign lands. In these past 25 years civilians got caught in the cross fire with terrorist attacks. As the late former President Ronald Reagan said”Freedom is only one generation away from extinction”. 

PRAYER: Lord I thank you for the lives saved during military service but also known of many wounded left behind by death,injuries, PTSD, and other incidents. Comfort those left behind and help us never forget what this country stands for and help people wake up who can’t see what is happening in America. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Your Words

Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips” (Psalm 141:3 NIV)

Oh goodness why oh why is it so difficult to be still when it comes to blurring out things or getting on your phone and poof out a scathing text goes and can’t be recalled. 

A good friend of mine encourages me to practice the 24 hour rule and not to react to something in writing or even a phone call until a full day has passed. 

If this is an area you struggle with why not purpose in your heart to let the Holy Spirit guide you to “be careful little mouth what you say”, remember the childrens song? Your words can make you or break you. 

PRAYER:The tongue and vocal cords are a gift from God. Please help me never take them for granted. Give me the ability to wait and think before texting and such. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Trusting God?

 

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”Proverbs 3:5-6

 

Oh why is it so hard once you have prayed, to trust and let things go to our more than able God, who is at work answering prayers and working behind the scenes on people?

 

Let’s say you prayed over something and things seem to be going really good then the enemy gets his foot in the door and you start fretting. Easy to do as I very well know. That is exactly Satan’s game plan to get you thinking your prayer did not matter and obviously didn’t work. Don’t play Holy Spirit Junior as it is not your job.

 

Don’t fall for the tricks, lies, and deception of the enemy, and stand strong. Tell  Satan to shut up and get out because you are a child of God and His word does not return void as it says in Isaiah 55:11. Now press on and keep looking up!

 

PRAYER: This is your day as is every day Lord and I choose joy, peace, confidence, and trust to guide my every step. I let go of every burden and trust you are working. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Be Blessed

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs…and He will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:31–33, NLT

Today if you watch too much news which is entirely geared for fear, you will not have much peace. First it is government takeover, stolen elections, food shortage, inflation, gas prices skyrocketing, and on it goes. Don’t you feel God is the one who is Supreme and for whatever reason allows certain things to happen to get people to wake up. 

Many are ‘asleep’ today and slowly but surely being spoon fed tyranny little by little till they get caught up due to loyalty of a political party or just sheer blindness. Instead of hyper focusing on calamity and terror why not wake up and not flip on the news or go get the newspaper off the driveway,  but spend some quality time talking to God and reading your Bible. 

If you have not been taught by your denomination or your family to nourish yourself in God’s word it is very easy. Many are scared of the Bible or have considered too sacred to pick up and horrors, even write in. At the end of this devotion is a link to a Bible App. No go feel protected in Jesus’ arms and don’t allow fear, a tool of the enemy, to have a part in your life. 

PRAYER: I thank you for being able to always communicate even when a ‘minister of truth’ gets appointed in a free world that we know the real truth found in your word. Great be peace to anyone who is unable to be still. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Fighting Evil

8Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 NIV

Don’t let down your guard my friend. The enemy Satan is the creator of all evil, deception, curses, lies, twisting of scripture, manipulation, disguising evil as good, compromise and he loves to stick his foot in the door when someone has been set free of some sin and cause a person to start believing lies again.

Don’t allow Satan to have a seat at your table pastor Louie Giglio says. Satan is so subtle using anything he can, even so called Christian friends, to make you think your sin is not really all that bad. After all doesn’t God want you to be happy?

Today is our world many are confused over sexuality and Satan starts making people feel you can be whatever you want to be or do whatever you want to do but alas God the creator of man and woman and sex says “No” you can’t or you will pay. He is not being mean but He has created man and woman for a purpose. Many don’t want to hear this and put their fingers in their ears. If you are dealing with this or a family member is and perhaps they have even shut the voice of truth out of their life due to conviction by the Holy Spirit keep praying.

PRAYING: I rejoice because I know you love me. I know you love those who have caved to sin and shut truth from their life. Bring conviction and restoration to those who need it. Restore families and friendships. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When Your Mind Is Muddled

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2 NIV Bible Gateway 

Are there ever days you wake up and just don’t feel like talking to God or opening your Bible. Maybe your mind is cluttered with lies and you can’t seem to break free. 

I know keeping your mind on Christ is a moment by moment. What has you troubled or confused? Don’t allow demonic forces to enter your mind and confuse or lie to you. If you know of a person this has happened to who isn’t listening to truth pray for them. 

God has this but He needs you to be faithful and pray. Don’t let your Bible be a decoration in your house.Satan loves Bibles that stay closed because then the owner is powerless against him. Start in Colossians and read. It is in the New Testament. If you want more don’t hesitate to private message me. Great is our God! 

PRAYER: Thank you Lord for the Bible.I pray for anyone today who needs to know how to use it because they have never been taught. Open their eyes and help them flee the darkness around them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

That’s Enough

 

“I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’ Ezekiel 38:22-23

Take a look at the book of Ezekiel chapter 38 in the Old Testament. It has much prophecy of what will occur before Christ’s second coming. Nothing to be frightened of unless you are not a follower of Christ and know for sure where you will go upon your final heartbeat. It isn’t just based on church affiliation, baptism or being a good person. 

The final curtain will indeed come and the question is do you believe and are you prepared. You are not just here on Earth by accident but by design whether or not you acknowledge God or not.

 With all the sins against God today one of the biggest calling killing babies healthcare, we are becoming almost like Sodom and Gomarah , yet many are numb and buy into the trickery and deceit. Enough is enough and God has been patient with us far to long. We say in God we trust on our money and so forth but then ignore Him. Can’t last forever. God won’t continue to bless a nation who ignores him. Just saying. 

PRAYER: Lord I thank you for this wonderful creation. It pains me to see so much confusion being caused by Satan and those he has tricked to be on his side whether they know it or not. Open my eyes to truth and help those people know who are blinded to wake up before it is too late. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Stay On Your Knees-The Battle Is Far From Over

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Corinthians 16:13 ESV 

What have you been praying for? A prodigal child perhaps, decision on schools, a relationship, a job, finances, where to attend worship services.

I know people who feel that why bother praying as they feel it is nonsense and doesn’t do anything. Indeed prayer does much and for the one praying it works wonders on your own life. You have to make up your mind to just do it and don’t quit. 

But how you say? Simply talk to God. No fancy words needed just talk like you would to a friend. “Hi God it’s me again lost and confused and needing you to show up in my life”. Pour out your heart to him. He is waiting. (Psalm 62:8;Lamentations 2:19). 

PRAYER: I want my life to bring glory to you Lord and I want to be able to pray continually even when change happens then there is a hiccup. Help me press on and not let Satan distract me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Seducing Spirits

 

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. 2 John 1:7 ESV

 

The devil is tricky. He will not let up on those individuals so close to slipping full force into his drudge pit. His lies, manipulation, even misuse of Bible verses all taunts those people caught up in sin.

 

Perhaps you know an individual close to falling or who has already slipped back into sin. Over and over the demonic spirits lie to this person and their time with the Lord goes by the wayside and replaced with things to tickle their ears to justify their sin. People who want to help are shut out of their life.

 

Don’t get me wrong, we all sin and similar to the prostitute in the movie ‘Redeeming Love’  even though she was rescued out of the brothel and married a godly man who loved her unconditionally she kept running back to the brothel as she didn’t feel worthy of love or freedom in Christ. Like a dog returning to his vomit (Proverbs 23:11) the fool repeats his folly and demons laugh hilariously. If this is you or you know someone like this don’t give up on them. Persevere because your prayers do matter!

 

PRAYER: I thank you Lord for your love for when loved ones turn their back on me all I can do is continue to press into prayer. Help anyone who is caught up in the lies the enemy attacks them with, and remove lethargic blinders. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Draw Them To The Cross

 

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.Matthew 10:28

Throughout  the world believers are serving quietly  doing prayer walks and such. Today many are  lost and confused who do not know The Lord or simply don’t want to. Living for todays pleasures giving no thought of eternity. 

Some have pushed back on God due to being convicted of sin and stick their fingers in their ears trying to shut out truth.There are those who feel they are Christians simply by being a member of a church or being ‘good’. 

My heart breaks for  people who follow Satan without realizing it or who just make up their own gospel. But there is hope always remember that. I think many don’t realize  Hell  is real or think it is going to be a big raunchy party but unless repentance occurs before death sadly they will discover otherwise when it is too late.There is good and evil period. No zone in the middle. You are either on God’s side or you are tricked by demonic spirits posing as angels of light(2 Corinthians 11:14-15) to lead non believers or those bored by religion and doing their own thing. Walk in truth because your enemy the devil is trying to get a foot in the door so don’t let him.(1 Peter 5:8).

PRAYER: Lord I lift up those I know who don’t know you nor care to try to know you or many believing false teachings about salvation and Heaven. Help use me to tell the truth with boldness and love. Help those being tricked by Satan to come to know you and share their testimony. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Don’t Hope In Riches

 



When you set your eyes on wealth, it is [suddenly] gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies to the heavens.Proverbs 23:5 AMP Bible gateway

So many are obsessed with money and acquiring wealth like whoever has the most wins. It doesn’t matter. 

Recent talk of the stock market plummeting sent many investors reeling. Of course if money is all you care about and it is your security blanket then of course you freak out. 

Trust in the one who owns it all anyway. Your life is not about acquiring possessions but about living a purposeful life and blessing others with the riches God has entrusted you with. It is all his anyway. (Proverbs 10:22)

PRAYER: Thanks for your blessings. I pray for those with blinders on to see it is you that gives wealth and we are to trust you for you provide all our needs. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Who Me? A Zealot?

 

“If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."Mark 8:38

The definition of a zealot is a person who is fanatical and uncompromising in pursuit of their religious, political, or other ideals. Now if you are passionate about the things of Christ without compromise I guess that would be a fanatic and I once heard a fanatic is someone who loved Jesus more than you do. Nothing to be ashamed of if you have had that label put on you but instead you are loving God and perhaps making others squirm or be convicted. 

It is the Holy Spirit that convicts of sin and of unrighteous. The world today is confused and God is not the author of confusion. Sin is sugar coated signed into law and made to look normal. Lifestyle choices abound and if it doesn’t concern you those involved want you to bug out. 

It is sad that the god of this world Satan won’t let up in his battle to confuse others that he knows more than God by twisting scripture and justifying sin. If you are praying for breakthrough for someone don’t become discouraged by a bump in the road or a hiccup. God has not abandoned you or the person who you are praying for. 

PRAYER: Heavenly Father prayer is my lifeline and so many lost souls are afraid to pray or don’t know how. Or false teachers come in and mess with people. Lord Jesus help me never give up on my journey of prayer and break Satan’s lies and deception which often seem okay to those affected. I choose to run hard after you. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

My Mouth

I don’t know about you but getting a handle on control of my thoughts and words spoken is a daily challenge particularly for impulsive people such as myself. A thought comes and poof out it goes through my keyboard and on to another person. Why oh why is this so hard to tame? 

Read James chapter 3 in the New Testament and there is a wealth of info on your tongue and speaking. Do a word search in the Bible for speech, mouth, tongue, talking etc. 

Want to be loved by your friends, respected by your family, and smiled at by strangers then control your mouth which can lead to quarrels, judging, hurting others, and so forth. I have heard about some doing a ‘word fast’ where you think and don’t react for 24 hours especially on devices at your disposal. Go and bring glory to God with what you say. 

PRAYER: Help me Lord to really be careful about my words and thinking I have to always have an opinion. Silence my mouth and still my fingers on the keyboards. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Smile A lot

 



A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken. Proverbs 15:13.

Do you feel bad?Smile. Do you feel depressed? Smile. Do you feel lonely? 

Smile. 

All the secular experts on mental health think they were the ones enlightened to say to laugh and smile to feel better. Oh contraire but our  God said it first! 

I have no clue what you are going through today but there is much hurt, confusion, and brokenness in this world BUT GOD has not abandoned you my sweet friend. Try to stay positive and encourage and yes please smile! 

PRAYER: Today is a truly wonderful day because Lord you are walking beside me. When my anxious thoughts or manipulative spirit try to rear their ugly heads I will give praise to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Ah To Be Young Again

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten- the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm- my great army that I sent among you.Joel 2:25

Recently I was looking through an advertising for children’s playhouses. Little girls even back when I was a child loved playhouses. My sister and I used a card table with a plastic log cabin cover and we were perfectly content. 

Childhood for some reason is not so always good as depicted by the movie ‘Redeeming Love’ and from true stories of Joyce Meyer and other well known people who were used, abused, or witnessed things children should not. I know people who have had wretched childhoods too. 

So this thing to want to stay forever young it not necessarily a good thing. God wants you to grow and if you suffered pain and abuse you moved on and hopefully were released from the torment of it. Mothers Day was just observed and hopefully celebrated but Father’s are a necessity for a stable healthy family life. Numerous stories of absent fathers results in many negative things. Black Father’s Matter was recently started and perhaps there should be All Father’s Matter. Embrace where you are and even give thanks for bumps along the way where God used bad stuff to redeem you and restore you. 

PRAYER: Father bind up the wounds of those adults who as children had hurt, pain, abuse, neglect thrust upon them. Help restore brokenness to those who hurt. Guard the little ones today being raised in homes without love. Overcome evil with good. Help sex trafficking be purged and those affected healed. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Fame And Riches Are Fleeting

 

For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.Romans 1:36 NLT

 

 Western society is sure addicted to what they have, where they go, and titles. Try not to fall into that trap. What you have now is fleeting according to scripture it is all God’s anyway. 

Perhaps if you gain the perspective that all that is unimportant,  you could relax and enjoy your life like God intends you too. Trying to be bigger, best, have more money is really a dead end street. 

 

Today stop and think of all you have. Fresh running water, warm home, clothes on your back, a car to drive, maybe a bicycle, gym membership, likely more than one bathroom, freedom, a Bible(hopefully one that gets used), medical care, you get the idea. It is easy to complain but instead gratitude is what needs to be displayed because everything is a gift from God. 

PRAYER: Lord I come to you in humbleness saying thank you for everything. Many people think they are the ones where society owes them but you oh Lord are the giver of all things. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Eat, Drink, And Be Merry….Then What?

 

For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. Romans 16:18

It breaks my heart to see an obituary where everything the person did or enjoyed with not one single mention of serving the Lord. I often think this type of funeral would be hard to preach or difficult to attend. 

Most people don’t really think about their obituary much if at all but someday when you die there will be one either the complimentary 40 words most newspapers customarily provide or the $1 per word where you can go on and on and on. Will mention of living for  Jesus or anything like that be in yours? Stop and ponder that and maybe time to make some lifestyle adjustments.  

God created you for a purpose not just to occupy space and entertain yourself. Life is so much richer and complete when you don’t live for your own selfish desires. 

PRAYER: Oh Lord you are beautiful and your face is all I seek. My heart breaks for those who just lived for today with no thought of tomorrow or perhaps the ones who were Sunday believers. I pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to come to those family and friends I know who really could care less about a life with Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Letting Stuff Go

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.Hebrews 12:2

Let’s say you have been praying about a situation now for a long long time. You simply must not give in to fear. Easier said than done. 

Satan likes to poke our buttons and cause the victory you felt you had to crumble. Don’t give the enemy the pleasure of agitating you. If you caved and started to back paddle simply stop and say “I have victory and am covered with blood of Jesus” and then get involved in something else. 

Letting social media go is another really good idea. It has good purposes but when it falls into wasting time and trolling on there what real purpose does it serve? You find out things you would rather not know. I am not so sure Jesus would get on social media. Anyway get into Jesus and try to ignore the distractions of this world. 

PRAYER: Father I thank you for how you work in my life and the lives of my loved ones. When my mind tends to wander and go places it shouldn’t I need to learn to wait and let you work. Give me ability to be at peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What Are You Afraid Of?

But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high (Psalm 3:3 NLT).

Since the end of 2019 the word Covid has become a new one in our vocabulary. That dreaded disease has caused controversy, death, fear, isolation, arguments, and on and on it goes. 

Just at a time when you have a handle on peace and things ease up more reports and more fear emerge. If ever the devil wanted to separate friends and loved ones this has done it. 

Friend simply get away from constant reports and it will alleviate part of your fear. I personally am at peace and trusting God for the rest. Live your life with Jesus not ABC news and you will have half the issue controlled. Todays verse says that God is a shield. Do you believe that? Stand firm and trust God and you can defeat the enemy who simply doesn’t want to leave you alone. 

PRAYER: Lord I thank you for your healing touch. I thank you for life. I thank you for those who study medicine and help treat us when we are sick or injured. I know your ways are better than the world and I believe in the power of prayer and of miracles. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Forgive Them Lord

All over the Earth there are believers, some serving quietly and some doing prayer walks and such. There are many today lost and confused who do not know you or don’t want to. Very sad and disheartening. Living for today thinking nothing of Heaven. 

Recently at a National Day of Prayer event in the Idaho State Capitol rotunda,  a group from the Idaho Satanic Temple was inside all dressed in black. Many bold  Christians  went inside and prayed or sang or prayer walked in a circle around them. My heart was broken because people who follow Satan must think Hell  is going to be a big raunchy party but unless they repent before death, sadly they will discover otherwise when it is too late.

Honor Your Father And Your Mother

 

 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God”. Luke 1:30

We all have something in common. At one time we all had a mother. Mother’s Day can stir up all sorts of emotions. 

Probably the most famous mother is Mary, chosen by God to be the human mother of Jesus, a pretty special assignment. Of course there was not Mother’s Day in Bible times but I am sure Mary was honored in a special way. Mary is not God and is not to be worshipped like God but her role is still very important. 

Would you like to be favored by God or I should say find favor with God? You were born a specific gender either male or female for a specific purpose in life. Your mother may have been abusive, abandoned you or, if adopted,  you might wonder why your birth mother rejected you or gave you away. Regardless, moms out there, God has a reason you were created and born. He can restore you and redeem you. 

In the movie ‘Redeeming Love’ released 21 January 2022 after being completed in late 2019 the fictional story is told of a girl born to a prostitute and later sold to a brothel. It is set in California Gold Rush days in 1850. A Christian man who was a farmer is told by God to marry her and have unconditional love. It is quite a story, for adult audiences only. Anyway no matter where you came from from God can redeem you. Today if your mother is living call her, send flowers, or something. Now go enjoy Sunday and give thanks for the lady who helped bring you life. 

PRAYER: Motherhood is so special. Many trials and tests come along indifferent stages of raising children and many heartaches as well. Help those tortured by this day to let go and let God bring healing. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Oh No I Qualified For An Olympic Event!

Have you ever heard of the sport called ‘jumping to conclusions’ of which I have won many medals in, ha ha?

Just wait, be patient,  get all the facts. Did not rush to judgment. I have been foolish many times acting and speaking or texting before knowing ‘the rest of the story’ and maybe you can identify? 

It is so very easy to overreact and be in a heap of trouble. 

Anyway today your assignment and mine is to sit calmly, gather all facts, don’t be hasty to utter something you regret later. Let’s do it ok? Oh yes, and pray. 

PRAYER: Lord I know you love me just how I am and I thank you for giving me a brain and help me to use it but to slow down and not overreact to things. Give me stillness Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Jail Time And Jesus

 

"So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."Hebrews 13:6

There have been many cases of jailed and imprisoned individuals finding Jesus and committing their life to him in prison. Right now our country is deep in lawlessness and I am not certain how party loyalists can defend a man wanting us to be a third world country. I am not scared as pray is what I will do. God is in charge. 

So much misinformation has gone throughout the world ever since 2016 to try to destroy a man who would be President and was loved by the people. Now my devotion is not about politics but it is about taking off blinders that Satan has put on so many people who hate for no reason and also caused great division in families and between friends. News media has done a great coverup and some day this will make a superb movie but it is not so peachy when leaders don’t respect the Constitution and seemingly are trying to destroy our nation with people believing lies. 

God is on the side of freedom and it says in scripture many places he hates a lying tongue and liars end up in the lake of fire. No one is perfect but people who truly love freedom and a strong defense and protecting our borders need to pray and not give up. Don’t desire evil against these criminals but instead desire that they come to Christ and repent of their sins. And pray for America to stay free in all ways. 

PRAYER: Lord you are my helper at all times. Sometimes you allow certain things to happen to wake people up. I ask that those blinded by the lies of Satan be set free and realize what a party they were loyal to stands for. I pray for peace to permeate our great land. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

One Nation Under God

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”.Psalm 33:12

The Bible is filled with prayers. Prayer is pretty simple, it is just talking to God. No fancy words needed, no seminary degree, no special title but just a conversation with God. 

America has been a nation that has been blessed but ever since our Founding Fathers started us on the road to freedom, mankind has rebelled and tried to be like God, think about the Garden of Eden way before anything. 

Today we have access to much Bible teaching unlike say people in the 1800’s. But yet man somehow was convinced by Satan that he could do things his way and there would be no penalty. Think again. How long will God bless a nation that put a law into place legalizing the killing of babies and now call it healthcare. This national day of prayer it is obvious Satan has infiltrated our leadership and we desperately need revival. I have been a prayer warrior since beng in Moms in Prayer International back in 1996. PRAYER: Father I thank you that I get to pray and you hear me. I know your heart is broken of the rebellion of your creation. Demonic spirits have taken control in some cases and need cast out. I pray for healing for this land and revival. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Stop Pointing The Finger

 

“Judge not, that you be not judged.” Matthew 7:1 

You have probably done it pretty sure most everyone has and that is passing judgment on someone due to a lifestyle choice, clothes they wear or don’t wear, drug use, tattoos or piercings and add to the list. None of us is perfect and the big news flash is God Loves everyone.

It is easy to look at the speck in your brothers eye when there is a log in your own is found  in Matthew 7:2-5 read it as well. Sometimes it is best to talk to God about things before you open your mouth and cause trouble.

So you get the urge to be someone’s conscience remember that is the Holy Spirits job so be still and pray. 

PRAYER: Lord I am sorry and a little embarrassed when I have opened my mouth to try to ‘fix’ something when I know that is not in my job description. Help me remember to pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

There You Go Again Throwing A Pity Party!

“Yet you were not willing to go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; and you grumbled in your tents and said, ‘Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to destroy us. Where can we go up? Our brethren have made our hearts melt, saying, “The people are bigger and taller than we; the cities are large and fortified to heaven. It is so easy to start feeling sorry for yourself and the key word in this is self. When your mind is not occupied on ‘things above’ it becomes extremely easy to slip into that mode and sometimes you need a caring friend to snap you out of it. 

As Joyce Meyer often says “Pity parties are pitiful” and indeed they are. You can justify them all you want but the only attendee would be yourself. If you catch yourself starting to blurt out some self centered statement stop then and instead give praise to God for all the things you have to be grateful for. 

Indeed things can make you sad but the key is to not focus on them or compare yourself to another person. Each person is on a unique journey, no two alike. Stay focused on the glory and goodness of God and you will have little time to feel sorry for yourself. 

PRAYER: Oh Lord you are wonderful. You give me emotions but it is up to me to use them in a proper way. I know feeling sorry for myself is not the answer. Satan is the author of Junk like that and in Jesus’ name I cast him out. In Jesus’ name. Amen..

Look Up From Your Phone

Since the start of social media around 2004, Americans have become zombies and slaves to misinformation, hate, self centered lives, unfriending and much more. I feel sorry for Generation Z who knows nothing of what life was like before this. Todays parents have a challenge to set limits for sure. 

Even to do my devotions I have to be on my device. Inordinate amounts of wasted time are racked up by thousands of people some even maybe hiding to use their device because deep down they know it isn’t good for their relationship with God or others. Sounds like an alcoholic with a bottle of booze. 

The problem is discipline and knowing when is it time to turn them off and go take a break instead of constantly peering into everyone’s life. God is still wanting quantity time with you and many well meaning believers, myself included, have often forgotten God is waiting to have time with you. Maybe a paper Bible, a note pad and pen, and just you. A quiet place uninterrupted yet safe. Learn to control the time you are looking at the tiny screen and have less neck pain too. Now go and talk to Jesus. 

PRAYER: Father I am thankful for technology but also think back to the mid 1800’s after watching Redeeming Love and seeing how life went on with hard work and no modern conveniences. Not sure if todays moderns would last long. Help us appreciate where I am and where I came from. Also help me to remember to love you then love others, regardless. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our Great Guide

 

For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even till death. Psalm 48:14

Everything you do in life at one time or another required a guide. First as an infant with your parents as guides then later on taking lessons you have guides and then in school teachers guide you. 

I have had a snow ski guide a couple of times who when I followed instructions things went pretty smooth, if not I end up on runs way over my ability. Then there a river guides or wilderness guides.

You do realize God is our ultimate number one Guide? A guide is defined as one who shows the way by leading, directing, or advising. God leads and you are simply to listen and follow, heed his instructions found in God’s word. 

If you are a parent your prayer is for God to guide your children into all truth and that they don’t stray into the wrong path of life. Probably in your own life some relative was praying for you somewhere along your path. Are you following your Guide and listening to Him? 

PRAYER: I thank you for your word that I simply need to be disciplined to pick up and let it guide me in life. Help me drown out the noise of the enemy who doesn’t want me to hunger for the word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
