Darkness Versus Light

 


Abstain from every form of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22

The earth is pretty dark already without adding more darkness on purpose. I refer to Halloween. Many warlocks, witches, and Satanists can’t wait till this day. Spooky innocent fun for believers, is it really okay?

You can celebrate ‘fall’ and maybe have fun dressing up in funny cute outfits but putting a little child in a devil outfit may be a far stretch.Cornfield mazes, innocent non demonic  haunted houses and the like.  Everyone has to be convicted themselves. I don’t have a right or wrong answer. 

Some are intrigued by the darkness and love movies filled with sorcery and tragic dark themes. The question is if this is healthy  for your spirit man? Once again each person has to be convicted on their own. I personally don’t like glorification of all things evil. So it is up to you my friend.Not standing in judgment but giving food for thought on this often justified holiday. 

PRAYER: Oh God you are beautiful, your face is all I want to ponder on and gaze upon. Guide parents about how to handle this seemingly fun candy filled holiday to remember to do all things to the glory of God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Timely Word

 


A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—and how good is a timely word! Proverbs 15:23

Since moving a couple months ago it is easier to be still and ponder. Covid craziness still in full swing and therefore it is the harder to make friends when you can’t socialize. One plus is I have more time to ponder about how God can use me in my new location. One way is being kind and saying hi.

One of the things that has been a blessing in my life is chatting with those I meet at the local park when I go for exercise. I have met a young couple with two small children, a man who was teaching yoga, a local catching crawdads, and so on. You have the potential to impact a persons life every day either by a timely word or a smile. 

Instead of bemoaning your ‘plight’ or getting yourself into a wrong mindset think about that kind word to a stranger and how it just might impact their day. 

PRAYER: Many times I have slumped into self pity when I need to instead reach out to a friend or family member to check on them . Thank you for the opportunities each day to say a kind word. Help me not be so into self I bypass chances. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Take Your Positions Soldiers!

 


The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.2 Corinthians 10:4

We are at war my friends. Not a war necessarily between people but against the demonic realm trying to destroy our freedom, our Christian nation, and our heritage. All of us are soldiers in this battle being waged. Washington DC has had so much in person Holy Spirit filled intercession for over a month now going on all over Capitol Hill. It is exciting. 

Sadly some churches are just that and I mean churches. A comfy place to sing and hang out on Sunday but lack the tools for fighting warfare against the devil. Many have even bought into the devils lies that justify some types of sin. It breaks my heart because the devil has them right where he wants them. Weak and complacent and assuming they follow God because they live in America but in favor of many types of obvious sin. Just pray my friend don’t fight with people. 

Get on your knees before God because the enemy has many people tricked to believe lies. Friend you know who wins in the end. This is about keeping America a nation founded on God. Be sure to vote. 

PRAYER: Oh Lord open the eyes of those blinded by the enemy who has taken them captive causing division on social media and riots and turmoil in this great land. Help me always stand for truth and to be a guide to someone maybe who has lost their way or their moral compass is broken. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Not Of This World

 


My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. John 17:15-17

How does a follower of Jesus live in this present day world without being tripped up? Do you hide yourself away and never go out into the world? The answer is no. “True holiness runs from nothing” was a quote I heard from pastor Creflo Dollar. 

Holiness is being set apart for God. The present world has embraced some unholy lifestyles and those who speak up are called mean spirited. God loves sinners and all have sinned it says in Romans 3:23

You are to be ‘in the world’ but not ‘of the world’ so keep that in mind. Deep down inside of everyone I have heard there is a God shaped hole or basically a sense of right and wrong. Stand strong no matter what culture says is right. Don’t be argumentative but let the Holy Spirit bring conviction. 

PRAYER: Father it is easy if a person immersed themselves in this world more than in God’s word. You hear things enough and maybe start thinking they are true. Help me stand strong against the rising tide of secular humanism and wrong thinking. I pray for those I know being swept under to be thrown a lifeline. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Self Conscious?



 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.Galatians 2:20


To be self conscious is to worry too much about what others think or to place ones self on a pedestal of sorts being almost in love with self. 


Scripture tells you to die to self(1 Corinthians 15:31). It is hard today with the selfie culture, snap chat, and other ways to elevate yourself. Even sometimes worrying too much about what others think could place you in danger of even narcissism.


What we should do is lift Jesus higher and seek to emulate him and represent Him and not be thinking of ourselves so much. Romans 12:3 Says For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. Now go lift Jesus higher! 


PRAYER: This is the day you have made Lord and you alone are great and mighty and can do all things. Forgive me if I ever elevated myself too much without giving you the glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Foothold?

 




In your anger do not sin”:Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Ephesians 4:26-27

Are you resisting the devil in your daily life or has he already gained a foothold in your life? The definition of a foothold is “a place where a person's foot can be lodged to support them securely, especially while climbing.” I am not a rock climber but my younger son and his wife are and I tried bouldering once and it is so important to have a place to secure your foot before you attempt to climb higher. Once done you can proceed. 

Satan can gain a foothold in your life in numerous ways. Feeding your mind with lies and untruths from sources trying to trick you. Being angry and bitter can also create opportunity to latch on. Deception is rampant when you start to believe sources other than God’s word. When your senses aren’t exercised unto godliness. 

You have to be on guard constantly because the enemy can latch onto you before you realize it till you can’t even tell good from evil or truth from a lie. My friend make it a point to nourish your spirit man daily with a hefty dose of scripture. If instead you feed it morning news, television shows, and the like you can’t discern because opposing views come into your head. The devil does not like truth and will do whatever it takes to grab you so beware. 

PRAYER: Father I know how important it is to first of all read the Bible regularly but also to have like minded friends who love Jesus more than anything. Help me stay grounded in the word so I can recognize lies. I pray for those I know who are blinded by secular untruths that they may be set free. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Don’t Go There...Trust God

 


Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.James 5:7-8

The mind is a wonderful thing but has to have discipline to think on the right things. Otherwise you worry, fret, manipulate and say or do things you wish you would not have. 

Waiting and patience are themes throughout scripture and consequences of not being still indeed backfired. Listening to God is so important. 

What are you attempting to wait for? Don’t allow your emotions to make you do something you regret later or jump to conclusions. Talk to God when you feel the impulse to do something you might regret. Good things do come to those who wait.

PRAYER:Father each day I need to remember to commit the day to you and be still afterwards and not try to do things without you. Give me the ability to be still. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Does Your Dogma (aka Faith) Speak 'Loudly'?



Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.Psalm143:8

What a nice compliment for a believer if someone were to say your faith spoke ‘loudly’ as was the recent statement by Senator Dianne Feinstein of California during ongoing hearing for confirmation of the newest Supreme Court justice Amy Coney Barrett. 

In other words she did not lead a double life as a secret service Christian and her Christian Faith impacts all areas of her life. For a liberal senator this might strike fear into her heart but it speaks volumes for the integrity and unwavering character of Judge Amy. 

I would only hope all of us who claim to follow Christ truly live for Him 24-7 and not just say and do what others want to hear. Believers know that Jesus is always with them and their character and actions should reflect that of the Lord. Being noticed as living for the Lord is the highest compliment anyone could receive. 

PRAYER: Give me strength Lord when I am in situations where I could easily deny you to stand strong and unashamed. I pray for courage to always do the Christian thing in all areas of my life.In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yay It’s Friday!

 


Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.Revelation 2:4

When Covid 19 hit with a vengeance in March and the US was ordered to shut down it was hard to recognize one day of the week from the other. Gradually our nation is coming back to life cautiously and Friday is a noticed day again, one that people who work look forward to.

First things first though, before you dash off into a jolly happy Friday and glorious weekend is God included in your weekend at all? If not, why not? Not intending to guilt anyone but perhaps convict you of your need to keep Christ truly in the center of your life and not as an afterthought. 

Maybe it is time to get excited again about loving Jesus or maybe you never have been excited. Are you into a religion of rules, do’s and don’ts or in a ‘life giving’ loving church where you get excited before Sunday to get to attend and worship? Don’t stay somewhere  just because you know nothing different but seek out a place that you feel freedom on Sunday. Are you more than a believer? 

PRAYER: I am so thankful to be able to worship you and pray for anyone I know who is trapped in legalism or a dead end church or one that really does not follow God’s word and truth. Set anyone free today to know you personally as their Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Beside The Stream Of Living Water

 


These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of Kings, and those who are with Him are the called, and chosen and faithful. Revelation 17:14

 Not everyone has the opportunity to just get away alone somewhere. If you are in assisted living, a nursing home, working, in a hospital, physically or mentally challenged or a young mom with babies it is pretty hard to just get up and go. 

Even if you can’t get away you can let your spirit, mind, soul and heart drift away. Sit and be still. No music, no television, no outside distractions grab your Bible and start reading the Psalms just to start. Get a notebook and start writing down things you are blessed with. Stay away from negativity. If you are able write an encouraging snail mail note to someone and get it in the mail. 

Did you know God is that stream of living water? Even when you feel less than jovial you can cry out to Him and He hears you. If you are able to get up and go somewhere maybe do a good deed or just simply smile at someone. This world may be full of confusion, hate, and ugliness right now but friend God is still on the throne. 

PRAYER: I thank you Lord for another day of living and use me Lord no matter my situation to make a difference in the world you have placed me in. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Disgruntled?

 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.Galatians 5:16


Christians can have both bad and good days but when it seems you are having more ‘moments’ of agitation than blessing then maybe it is time to do a spiritual checkup. 

Are you making time with the Lord each morning? Are you really trusting God with your prayers? Are you walking in the spirit more than the flesh? Are you putting away distractions? Are you staying peaceful when you feel like screaming? 

When you spend too much time ‘in the world’ it becomes easy to let the world affect you or I should say ‘infect’ you. Little problems with technology, job, your time table not being met can really get you up in arms. If you have had one of those moments or days lately stop and talk to God. Tell Him you need His help. Tell Him you will stop trying to be in charge and allow the Holy Spirit to intervene. Then go enjoy a walk, a cup of tea, or simply read your Bible. 

PRAYER: Father God I need you every single moment. Forgive me when I allow the enemy to ruffle my feathers over things that are not that major. Help me be salt and light.In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Grab And Go?


If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1
Grab and go typically refers to pre made sandwiches and salads at a grocery store for those in a hurry. Do you ever treat going to church as a grab and go activity?A check the box activity if you will?
You should want to dwell in the presence of God and find a church that you look forward to going to and wish you could go more! Go to church and expect to receive from the Lord. Don’t go counting the minutes till it is over. Perhaps if that sounds like you maybe it is time to switch to a life giving church which may not necessarily be the kind you were raised in or used to.
This Sunday prepare your heart ahead of time to be in His presence by inviting him into your home and other activities during the week. Don’t treat church like a lodge membership. Those with small children at home, don’t you want your children to hunger for the Lord and righteousness more than the things of this world? Then do yourself and them a favor and don’t treat Sunday like family picnic day as that is a habit they will remember more than knowing Jesus.
PRAYER: Lord there have been times I was not thrilled to be in church and other things shoved you out of the way. Then praise God I woke up and hungered for the word. I pray for anyone who needs to have a relationship with Jesus to seek Him with their whole heart. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Are You Rejoicing?

 


Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.Romans 12:15

Recently a fellow writer whose writing I receive was sharing with her readers how in her attempt to spread comfort and empathy about a struggle she was going through a reader verbally attacked her for her lack of compassion. I too have experienced this when there is a huge misunderstanding in what you are trying to convey. 

The enemy is alive and well. He the little weasel does not like Christians or Christian writers who attempt to share God’s love with others. All of us have struggles and it is not your job to compare who has it worse. Usually this occurs when your eyes get off the savior and onto self.

Jesus endured the worse struggle by his beating, torture, and death on the cross. He did this because he loves us. Imagine someone telling Jesus, my pain is worse. Friend remember to weep with those who weep and don’t be self centered on your own pain. 

PRAYER: I am thankful for things I have gone through that make me stronger. Forgive me if I have ever acted like I deserve more grace than another. Give me a compassionate heart. In Jesus’ name.Amen.

‘Unsocial’ Distancing


A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones;A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.Ecclesiastes 3:5

The great divide occurring in most of the world now centers around not just politics and good and evil but a mask and keeping our distance from people. I call it ‘unsocial distancing’ which is not my original I borrowed it from a sign I saw in Caldwell, Idaho. 

Mankind was meant to interact with others and do life with people not be isolated and lonely. Hugging, the laying on of hands, holding hands to pray all pretty customary in groups I am in, has sort of ceased out of fear of catching the ‘virus’. 

God is way bigger than this virus. Yes of course follow rules and guidelines but the point being we were meant for community not isolation. Try to not be so fearful you can’t relax and enjoy life without looking for a virus under every cushion, dish, or accidental handshake. Trust God, pray, know this WILL end but try to enjoy your life and do things to strengthen your immune system in the meantime. Now go in peace and anticipate that reunion of group huggers! 

PRAYER: Lord we know the enemy orchestrated this worldwide virus to kill and destroy and we ask for eradication and healing in Jesus’ name. Bring peace and comfort to those who may be sick or have lost a loved one. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Guess Who I Know?

A few years ago one of my hobbies was collecting autographed celebrity photos. Most of those people I never actually met but wrote to an agents office to see if I could get one. Never paid anything aside from the cost of a stamp. 

t’s funny how we humans get excited about famous people. Not everyone does but it depends on how you were raised if you were mesmerized by fame even a local news personality. One time I was approached at a local restaurant in Huntsville, Alabama to inquire as to if I were the candle maker at nearby tourist attraction Constitution Village. Made me chuckle. We are all just people and each of us puts on our pants the same way some may just be more expensive pants. 

More important than all these well known people who have people clamoring to get photos is the King of kings. Do you know Him? Would you run to get on the front row if He were speaking at a prayer rally in Washington DC? Sort of humorous to think of that but ‘mere men’ who just happen to be well known are still just people. And Jesus is humble so he would not like the idea of everyone wanting a piece of Him unless it was to bow at his feet for worship. So friend decide who it is you want to worship and idolize. 

PRAYER: I am grateful for people I have caught a glimpse of that society deems as celebrities but even more than that is my relationship with you Lord. May I never idolize anything more than you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

One Eyed Monster

 


“You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. Deuteronomy 5:7-8(NIV;#Bible Gateway)

That one eyed monster that takes a prominent place in many of our home living areas as if it is a statue of Jesus. Most people know I mean, the televison set. Right there smack dab in the middle of everything beckonoing you to turn it on. So many choices await you both good and bad. 

Do an experiment and take note one week of how much time is wasted in front of this monster. I am  not saying it is entirely bad but truly it has become a god in most American homes taking the place of conversation, interaction and fun games. I applaud those families I know who have chosen to not place a television in the home at all. It can be a useful tool but should not end up being a babysitter or time waster from other things that need to be done. 

Perhaps the TV is not your issue but are there other 'gods' beckoning you and crying out for your attention? Start today to get in the habit of having quiet itme with the Lord and realizing that what you watch is shaping you whether you think so or not. A verse in Phillipians 4:8 reminds us "whatever is pure.....think on these things". Take time to read the entire verse. Now go say goodbye to that monster and tune into things that build up your spirit and contribute to helping others. 

PRAYER: Your name Lord is above every other name. Your ways are higher and greater than anything. Forgive me whenI have spent more time watching mindless television than I have spent in your presence. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Serving God Or Flesh?



The flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other, so that ye cannot do the things that ye would” (Galatians 5:17)

What exactly does it mean to ‘serve’ the flesh? Bowing down to demonic spirits and false gods would be an obvious one but Satan is way more coy than that disguising and tricking you into activities that will drag you down. Some don’t appear ‘that bad’ but in the end can come back to haunt you.

This time of year you may think of sorcery, witchcraft, and fortune telling but even reading an innocent horoscope is bowing to the flesh as is the type of material you choose to read or the activity you engage in. Even wrong acquaintances not following the Lord can soon lead you the wrong way. 

Obvious fleshy activities would be adultery, pornography, illicit sexual behavior, using your body as that of a prostitute. Lusting after the same sex or opposite sex is fleshly even though our world says it is okay. When you take a stand to stay holy, you are marching against a culture put in place by the enemy to hurt and destroy you. Stand strong and stay Holy as God is Holy. 

PRAYER: Each and every day give me strength to say no to earthly temptations that our present day culture often gives a stamp of approval to. Help those I know caught up in behavior of the flesh that breaks your heart. Bring conviction to all of us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Keep Your Eyes On The Savior

 


Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.Mark 4:18-19

Where is your focus? Politics, world problems, your favorite celebrity, your plans for the weekend, your favorite TV show?

Today’s verse reminds us that the cares of the world can choke the word and make it unfruitful. Even as a follower of Christ if your mind and thoughts drift into worldly cares soon you may succumb to a weak believer unable to trust God to see you through. 

Are you able to truly focus on the goodness of God? Why not in your morning quiet time meditate on the attributes of God. His greatness, majesty, all knowing, wise, and on and on. Don’t be afraid to just lift your arms to Jesus and thank him. 

PRAYER: At times I have gotten my eyes off you Lord and start acting like the world. I don’t want to do that.Guard my heart to trust in you and not this world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When Words Hurt You

 


Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29
False accusations, rumors, lies, judgements. If you have ever been on the other end of someone’s hatred and disdain towards you it down right hurts. 

The mouth is a terrible weapon at times. In conjunction with often times emotions and not thinking words are blurted out that can wound deeply and even destroy relationships. That is why it is so critical to tame your tongue and maybe when in doubt of whether to say or text something to maybe wait. 

Maybe you have wounded someone or you were the person on the receiving end. Whatever the case, make it your aim to live a godly peace filled life, being kind to those you don’t agree with or get along with. Don’t be the one with the ugly words spewing forth but take your mind and tongue to be in line with scripture by studying the word daily. 

PRAYER: I am grateful for friends and family and for the ability to speak. I do not want to say anything that shames, guilts, or wounds anyone. Forgive me and help me forgive those who have been unkind to me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Birth Of America

 


He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.Job 26:7

When I was a child I learned a rhyme that said “In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue” and we children heard the true history of those who came and conquered many obstacles to found the great land we know as The United States. 

Revisionists history has come along and tried to destroy Columbus and his principled life. He was a great person and at great risk and mockery set out to discover a new land. Columbus landed in the ‘New World’ an island near Florida on 12 October 1492. Columbus looked to the Almighty for his strength.

It was through God’s providence that our nation came into being set apart to become a Christian nation. Many have come long and attempted to destroy this by rewriting history and cursing the notion of a Christian western world. Sadly we even had a president who tried to put America down to other nations. In the 1892 Supreme Court decision Church of the Holy Trinity v. U. S., the Court unanimously affirmed that America was indeed a Christian nation. Part of this was attributed to Columbus. So rest easy this Columbus Day and be thankful for every bit of God’s providence that shaped this land.

PRAYER:The enemy has tried so desperately to destroy America and what we stand for even to the point of confusing Americans about their history and making many believe lies. Loving God's Word And His People

 


In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.John 1:1

Do you love the Bible? I mean really love it to the point if there was a fire in your house you would make sure it got out safely? 

There is a huge spiritual battle going on now of good and evil and loads of deception where many can’t discern what is right and wrong. If you make it a point to get nourished on the Bible daily and keep hungering for it you should be alert to the enemies tactics. 

Keep the television off and the politics off. Stop taking to Facebook. When you feel that urge go get your Bible instead, pray, and read some Psalms. As for loving His people, that would be everyone, because He is the creator. Sure many snub him, do not acknowledge him and only have ‘church membership’ as the response to if" are you a believer". Pray for those around you who are unloveable for the Holy Spirit to touch them.  
PRAYER: Jesus I need you. Forgive me when I have thought or said ugly thoughts about anyone. Help me as I choose to press in to know you better. Help me recognize deception and run from it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Live Beyond The Screens In Your Life

 


"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me."Deuteronomy 5:6-7

Many people think they can not possibly exist without some sort of ‘screen’ in front of them be it the television, movie theater, computer, iPad, games, or cell phone but alas there is a way to go ‘old school’ and break free for a good portion of the day aside from having to use it say at your job.

Technology has become almost like a ‘god’ or idol in life. Think about your living room. What is probably smack dab in the center up on the wall? The flat screen TV. Beckoning turn me on, escape, relax, veg out.

Purpose in your heart you won’t mindlessly just grab the remote and sit there but instead grab your Bible and notebook and do a word study in scripture on say the tongue,grace, freedom, miracles. After you get into a new pattern and start enjoying the quiet you might even get into a good book, get creative in your home, or even get outside and enjoy nature. Use the ‘screen’ for good and not evil when you have to and keep a record of how much it occupies your life then decide you want to go beyond that and break free. 

PRAYER: There is good to be found in some of our devices but yet also they can take us away from relationships, cause rude behavior, hurt people directly or indirectly. Help me to only use my devices sparingly to share your love with others. Help anyone who is addicted and may not even be aware to be able to take a once a week tech break. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Calloused?



For this people’s heart has become calloused;they hardly hear with their ears,and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,hear with their ears,understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’Matthew 13:15

Everyone probably is familiar with callouses on your feet but what about your heart?  Yes, your heart. Is it hard and cracked because you fill your mind with the wrong things?

The enemy, Satan loves people with calloused hearts. Those who refuse to forgive, are rebellious, hateful, mean spirited, rude, uncaring, spiteful, grudge holders. It is hard to break through a calloused heart without the power of the Holy Spirit. Often times a person is blind to their calloused heart as they have become so saturated by the current culture that it is hard to get back to a loving relationship with the Lord. 

You could be reading this with a calloused heart and not get anything out of the words written. Stop everything and make it a point to spend quality time with the Lord. Start reading in the book of John in the New Testament. Separate yourself from worldy influences and seek to do a U Turn towards the savior. Seek the joy in the presence of the Almighty. To do this requires discipline. Go to Jesus the greatest callous remover ever. 

PRAYER: Father I find comfort in your word and in mediating on it day and night. The world wil send conflicting messages but I am to be in the world but not of the world. Help me recognize stumbling blocks that may seem innocent that the enemy puts in my path. In Jesus' name. Amen.

When You Want To Scream

 


The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. 18My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of resting places. Isaiah 32:17-8

The times we are living in here in the Western world are frustrating and to many whose jobs were affected or business was closed due to the pandemic you probably feel like screaming and hitting a punching bag. 

in every situation God has your back and He does care. "Yeah but that does not help me Him just caring" you might say. He is bigger than covid 19 and He is bigger than a job layoff. He knows how you feel and His heart breaks when yours breaks. Don't be angry at politicians and take to Facebook bashing everyone but keep in mind God wants you to maintain peace and still praise Him through the storms of this life. You may feel like giving up. Don't do that.

Stop what you are doing after reading this and lift your hands up in the air and praise God for another day of life and another chance to make a difference in the life of someone else.Set backs can turn out for the good so keep that in mind Satans plan is for you to mope and have self pity BUT God's plan is for you to weather this storm and come out stronger on the other side. 

PRAYER; I am so very thankful for the gift of life and friends and family. Often times I let my mind wander thinking wrong thoughts and imagining things that are not even real. Help me as I seek to stay Christ centered no matter what comes my way. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Different But Still One Commonality

 


For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4-6

God created each human with different traits, gifts, and personalities.It is up the each person to make a decision whether they will follow Christ or not. He doesn’t force himself into our lives. 
Followers may be different but have one thing in common and that is they love Jesus and want to live to Him and serve Him. It should be the glue that holds us together regardless of denominational ties. 

Each person is here for a reason and can be used in the kingdom of God. Many are still wandering either from the love they once had for the Lord or have never truly encountered Him.Where is your heart today?Are you growing closer to Him or further away? 

PRAYER: Help me Lord never act haughty like I have all the answers but help me have a heart of love and compassion to help bring people to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Great Is The Lord!,

 



 

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145:3, ESV)

Pause for a moment taking a break from the divisions in our world and focus on the glory of the Almighty God! His name is wonderful, his name is powerful, his name is the name above all names.

His kingdom is forever! He is higher and greater than all the petty bickering of mere men who have drifted away and spent more time being enamored by the creation than the creator. Our foolish worship of things, people, events, and even ‘worshiping worship‘ instead of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. 

Jesus is King, creator, Almighty, name above ALL names, peacemaker, mediator, friend, savior, way maker, light in the darkness, truth, redeemer, sovereign, mighty to save, first and the last, alpha and the omega, the bread of life, and so much more. How Great is God and how unfathomable His love for us even when we don’t deserve it. Focus on Him and not the problems in this world. Worship him, lift up your hands in praise and get on your knees and truly pour out your heart to him. The things of Earth WILL grow strangely dim in the Light of His Glory and Grace! 

PRAYER: Oh I thank you for the parents who taught me about Jesus and took me to church and for those who were used by God to lead me to the cross of Jesus and I pray for those you put in my path to plant ‘seeds’ to help others come to a saving knowledge of you. I pray for those who might need to break away from religion to truly come to know you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Unity Or Chaos

 

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the LORD forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:13-14

A troubling spirit of dissent, anger, evil, and chaos has permeated America. It is not from God. Believers in Christ should not be cheering on these lost hurting souls creating havoc and killing in our cities streets. 

America needs a revival. The devil does not like this country and what it stands for. We who love freedom and love truth have been fighting to keep ourselves from the anti God Spirit of communism. 

Sometimes God uses unlikely people to do his work and the enemy does not like that and anger and hate erupts like out of control volcanoes. Today stop what you are doing and pray for the division caused by politics, and factions trying to persuade people using a false narrative. Pray for revival in the ranks of the news media. Can you imagine how nice that would be? Now go spread love and don’t argue with others.

PRAYER: Lord help this great nation stay set apart for you. Bring prayer back to the public square and the schoolhouses across our land. Spark revival in the hearts of those who hate. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Whose Day Can You Impact?

 


Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.Romans12:21

Each and every day no matter where you are or what you are doing you can impact another person’s life in a positive way. 

Let’s say you are at work and that not so desirable co worker who talks about you behind your back passes you in hall. Just smile and say have a good day. A rude clerk who may in fact just have underlying issues you don’t know about probably just needs a smile. 

It is so much easier to be happy and kind than it is to be mean.If you are mean on social media due to politics keep in mind you have friends on both sides of the ‘aisle’ and you won’t win anyone to the Lord with a hateful comment about a politician you don’t like. Instead sow seeds of prayer. Now go and have an awesome day. And if you can’t be kind go talk to the Lord in your prayer closet. 

PRAYER: The fruits of the spirit sometimes are not evident in my life cause Satan tries to trip me up. Help me Lord recognize these deceptive tools of the enemy and I lift up anyone I know having a bad day to press in to God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Re-Set Your Mind

 

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.Philippians 4:8

The mind is a tricky thing and if not occupied by good things can soon take a nose dive into all sorts of garbage that can get you messed up saying and doing stupid things. 

Mind control is not meaning hypnotism or something far off like that but is simply getting your mind focused intentionally on the right thing. If you are obsessing over something it will continue unless you reset your mind to think another way and get busy and move forward out of the OCD ditch. 

Take a walk, call a friend, write a letter, start a hobby, clean your house, organize, volunteer, if not working get a job. Find a way to make someone else’s life better. But before all this open your Bible and read some Psalms and clear your mind of worldly distracting thoughts. 

PRAYER: At times it is easy to be in self pity and when I am that is wrong because I am concerned only about me, myself, and I. I choose to get up, get going, and live a life pleasing to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Does Your Life Reflect Christ

 




Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1

Do you wear several ‘hats’? One at work, one in public, one with family, and another with friends? Does your life reflect consistency or do you act a certain way depending on whose presence you are in? 

When you gaze into crystal clear water at the edge of a brook or lake you most likely see a reflection or mirror image of yourself.Your life reflects to others you encounter what kind of a person you are. 

Why not seek to reflect Jesus in all you say and do. Become more like him by reading the Bible daily. You don’t make friends with humans without first investing time in them. Same with Jesus. He is not just for Sunday. 

PRAYER: I want to know you more Lord and I know I don’t lie my head on a Bible and sleep and it magically happens.I want people to see you in me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
