Thanksgiving Day sadly gets brushed under many carpets in lieu of early Christmas festivities. It makes me sad because this day is part of our Christian and patriotic heritage here in the United States.
Thanksgiving is the time the Pilgrims set aside in 1621 to give thanks for their safe passage across the Atlantic as well as thanking him for a good harvest.
What will your Thanksgiving Day consist of? Family celebrations, friends over, waiting to shop the following day, football, overeating then joining Weight watchers, or something simple at home alone? Whatever you do ponder the real meaning of this Holy special day where thanksgiving was given to the Almighty God. Don’t be in such a big hurry to celebrate Christmas that you forget to thank God for blessings this day.
PRAYER: Oh precious Father thanks for a day meant to give you gratitude. I am grateful for so many things and so many people. I choose to thank you daily for using me in your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
