PRAY FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”1 Timothy 2:1-4

There is a command in scripture to pray for those in authority yet as divided as we have been over the years here in America how many have taken seriously the command to do that? It is God who allows certain people to take charge even though you may wonder, "really Lord" because His plan is better than ours and He knows what He is doing. 

Satan has confused many people and distorted the truth over the years and has done it full steam ahead these past 12 years and caused great division among the populace even within families. The question is will you allow your own agenda and feelings to rule how you react to and treat others. This is a spiritual battle my friend not one against mere men who have been held captive by demonic spirits. 

The prayer should be from here on out, "Lord help _____________(insert name) come to know you as their saviour and be filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit. Satan, you have no control over_________and I command you in the name of Jesus to take your hands off of _______ and restore unity. Let us brother and sister also learn to forgive even when the other person could care less about being forgiven. It is taking the high road. Be at peace. 

PRAYER: Thanks for what you have done Lord and how you work things out for your glory. We praise your name and give you all the credit for taking care of situations that otherwise look totally impossible in our human finite minds. To you be the glory. Help me not utter anything from my lips or tap it on my keyboard unless it edifies and builds up. In Jesus' name. Amen.
