He Has, He Will, He Will Continue. Rock On!

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. 2 Corinthians 1:8-11

What if things came easy when it comes to deliverance? What would you learn from it? If you prayed and poof, the answer happened would you still seek after Jesus? Probably not because you got what you wanted.

Prayer is a process. I know people who mock the power of prayer and wonder why bother. To me that is heart breaking because if they don’t pray the devil has them fooled. A slippery slope to be on for sure doubting prayer. Prayer should not be an after thought and certainly should not just be at meal time.

Read the verses above again and dwell on their meaning. God uses all sorts of stuff for his glory and in his timing. The ‘pray-er’ and the person being prayed for are both benefitting from the process. His ways are not our ways it says in Isaiah 55:89. Believe receive, doubt do without.

PRAYER: Father God my heart aches for those who make fun of prayer and those who pray. Capture their hearts to know you more and heal hurts that God them to that point. I need the ability to know your timing is best when I pray as well. Give me ability to be still. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
