Total Transformation

That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:20-24

Total body workout. Ab blaster. Thigh Master. Total Gym. Vibrating waste belt. Mini trampoline. Kettle balls.   There have been numerous fitness fads or quick fixes through my lifetime. All promising the buyer, if he or she uses it, to transform your flabby overweight body to look like a picture of health.

You should indeed want to keep the temple of God, which is your body,  in good shape and not consume garbage that will make it sickly and fat,  but more importantly is taking care of your inner man, your spirit and soul. Many people can run to the gym, and like I said it is good to exercise, but have you done any spiritual fitness these days?

Start each day with spiritual exercising. Make it a habit to ‘lift’ you Bible and read it. Don’t just do it to check off a block or it will probably  mean nothing. Get a good devotion book or home study to help with this. (My friend Erica Wiggenhorn has a new study being released entitled Unexplainable Jesus by Moody Press out last week.) You can’t be ‘strong’ in the Lord by just checking off an hour block on Sunday. Get total transformation today!

PRAYER: I am grateful to live in a country where currently I am still free to read my Bible in public and post scriptures on social media without getting arrested. Forgive me if I ever take this for granted and forget to ‘exercise’. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
