And when you pray, do not keep babbling like the pagans, for they think they will be heard for their many words. Matthew 6:7
When you pray do you utter general prayers such as "bless all the people" and "bring peace to the world" or are you specific? Praying is simply talking to God. Pretty simple. Nothing elaborate is required. No special vocabulary or voice inflection. A special degree is not necessary. Just the desire to share your heart with God. In our Moms in Prayer group we use a four step formula which is Praise, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Intercession. First adore God and praise Him. Next confess your sins to Him. Thank Him for the answers you have received then finally bring your requests before Him.
Do not let Satan make you feel unworthy. Anyone can talk to God, saved or unsaved.Cry out to Him morning, noon, or night. Don't be afraid to be specific and tell Him just what is on your heart. Imagine just sitting on a couch talking to a trusted friend. Well God is more than a trusted friend. He wants to hear from you daily.
Stop what you are doing right now and say a prayer. If you are in an office you can pray silently. You don't even need to shut your eyes. Our God is waiting for you so call out to Him today.
PRAYER: I know no matter where I am I can pray. Even people in countries who forbid Christianity can still pray. I thank you for the ability to come to you with things on my heart. In Jesus' name. Amen.
