A shout out to all dads out there this beautiful day. Mothers seem to get all the praise but dads are vitally needed. The dad is like glue that holds families together. Also the dad is called to be the spiritual leader.
Notice in society in general broken homes where when father figure is not around things get pretty messed up. A gentleman in the black community started a movement called Black Father’s Lives MATTER meaning in black communities where father is absent all sorts of bad stuff happens.
God never intended man to be alone so he created woman as his helpmate. Our secular world in advertising and tv shows has subtly tried to make men look like idiots and weak. If Satan can destroy family structure and minimize the man half his battle won. Satan works through ‘pride’ month destroying families as well. Pride comes before a fall.
Today, if your dad is living celebrate and honor him. If he hurt you try to forgive. If you’re a dad who hurt others seek redemption. God is the God of restoration.
PRAYER: Lord I am grateful for my dad. I know of many people whose dad was absent or hurt them and it kind of shaped their life. Help anyone dealing with father wounds learn to give it to you. Help those fathers I know be strong in the Lord and shape their children to know you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
