Have you been hurt by someone? Did someone say something to you to hurt you and does not even realize it? Sometimes we just want them to know and want to rub it in their faces and get even but that is truly not what God wants from us. Sometimes we have to make a decision to keep our mouth shut even when we feel justified in talking back and getting our "rights". It is hard to be silent when a loved one has wronged you .You have to ask God to give you the strength to bite your tongue and not fight back.
Ephesians 4:31-32 says " Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Our human nature wants to get last word, lash back, win the argument. But if we continue to demand that we be right the hole gets dug even deeper and there is no victory for anyone, only pain. Furthermore James 1:19 says " My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.(James 1:20) A soft answer turns away wrath is says in Proverbs 15:1.
So what is it going to be? Hold your tongue and give up your "rights" or continue the tirade and debates. Give it to God. He can work it out .
PRAYER: Lord Jesus if anyone reading this has been wronged I pray you give them the strength to give it over to you allowing you to work healing in this situation as only you can.In Jesus Name. Amen.
