What might you ask is a CINO? Well it is something I just thought up while taking my walk this morning. In the world of politics today there is what you call a RINO which stands for 'Republican in Name Only'. This is a Republican leader who has the name of a Republican but votes totally different. In other words you can never count on them to help their party and can not trust them for their vote. They go back and forth.
So I thought about the Christian life. How many of us may just go to church but nothing more? Punch that ticket for a mere 60 minutes or less one day a week and that's that. No desire for further growth, no desire to get closer to God in daily Bible reading, no daily walk with the Lord. If you were to be arrested for being a Christian would there be enough evidence to convict you?
There is a saying there are "no grandchildren in heaven" or "God has no granchildren". What that means is each of us on our own have to ask Christ into our hearts to be Lord of our life. You do not automatically become a Christian because your mama was or your grandmama was or because you grew up and were baptized in such and such a church. You have to make a decision on your own to live for the Lord and ask him into your heart. Going into church will not make you into a Christian any more than going into a garage makes you into a car."
Phillipians 3:10-11 says " “…that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead." 1 Timothy 2:4 says "who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth".
PRAYER: Father if anyone today does not know you as their Lord and saviour help guide them to the book of John where your love shines through greatly. Father thank you that we live in a country where we are free to read the Bible and free to attend a Bible believing church. Help us not to take that for granted. Many in other countries do not have that privilege or right. Guide those Lord who may not know you today to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In Jesus name. Amen.!
