Trick Or Treat

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.”1 Peter 5:8

 

Not only is this the day Halloween is celebrated but it is also my birthday. I am not a huge fan of Halloween even though yeah I get it children love dressing up and getting candy but it is the demonic dark aspect of this day I hate to pay tribute to. 

What a religious nut are you? No I love Jesus and I hate seeing evil paraded as fun and yes there are those that say “for crying out loud Becky get a grip it is all for fun” and I am reminded of how the power of darkness has gripped our world trying to call dark light and light dark. 

Black magic, fortune tellers, ouija boards, witches, and little red devil outfits to make toddlers look cute. The Holy Spirit has to bring conviction upon your heart before you decide enough is enough. Each and every day wake up praising God for teaching you truth through the word and get up and be a light for the kingdom. 

PRAYER: Father thank you for each day you have given us and even in the midst of Halloween activities let me not be holier than thou but instead pray for conviction to come upon others. Keep our children safe as they trick or treat. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
