I was thinking of how important a parents’ job is to teach little children about Jesus but also about taking care of things and picking up after yourself. On a recent visit to an elevated ‘lounge’ at my local grocery store many people had left litter behind or dirty tables. It reminded me of a sign that used to be hanging in the break room American Red Cross I think at Wright Patterson AFB which said “your mother doesn’t work here please clean up after yourself.”
Especially when those with you know you are a Christ follower how much more important to set an example. You can even pick up stuff others left behind kind of what adopt a highway does even though you didn’t throw litter out you serve your community by helping tidy up the roadside.
Wherever you go don’t be a secret service Christian but shine the love and light of Jesus’. Don’t do things to get noticed but to be an example for Christ.
PRAYER: Father God thank you for this Earth and my home. Help me be a good caretaker or what you entrust me with. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
