BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED

My next door neighbor at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio back in the early 90's used to say to me "Becky ,bloom where you are planted." Sometimes we can tend to want to complain about our "lot in life" not realizing God has a plan and a purpose and can use all things. (See Romans 8:28). You can sit and complain and not 'grow' or you can say to yourself "this is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it. "(Psalm 118:24). It is good advice for anyone to say to them "do not sit there and pity yourself but get up and get going and decide to make a difference in the life of other people." Pity parties are pitiful!  "Plant yourself" somewhere where you can make a difference in the lives of others. Do not always be throwing yourself a 'pity party' as no one really wants to come to it. You will be the only guest. Maybe you have been called here "for such a time as this." (See Esther 4:14). God has a plan and a purpose (See Jeremiah 29:11-13) and he wants you to "bloom" in his kingdom and bear fruit for Him. (See Galatians 5:22-23).
In Ephesians 4:1 it says "I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called." Do your roots go down deep in Jesus or are you like a dried up weed that will blow away with the first big gust of wind? God wants our roots to go deep and draw nourishment from the Bible. WIthout strong roots we will blow over at the slightest problems or trials. So sink those roots down deep in Christ and bloom for Him.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus we thank you for those situations in our life that help make us stronger in you. We know we need strong roots so we can withstand the trials of life. Help us Lord to stand strong and bloom whereever in life we are placed or planted. In Jesus Name, Amen!
