Forgiveness Is Vital

Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.Proverbs 17:9

Are you beaten down, hurt, feel no one listens or cares. Are you holding a grudge over something that happened years ago.

My friends grudges, anger, bitterness originate with the Prince of darkness who right now is ruling our world. I wonder how long God will allow darkness before He steps in.

You are only free when you let go of hate and anger. Don’t set yourself up for a stroke. Chill and give things to God.

PRAYER: Thanks Lord for walking with me when it seems the world is caving or family and friends turn on me. Help me smile and pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What Are You Angry, Hurt, Confused About?

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.Ephesians 4:32 NIV Bible gateway
You may be a believer but struggling with hurt from someone close to you or someone you thought you could trust. You build up resentment and just want to wash your hands of whole thing.
As a follower of God you have to forgive. Ask God how He wants you to react and move on. Extending grace is more important than trying to prove your point.
Where are you at today? Is there something in your life you need to let go of and move on. What point needs to be proved? Maybe better to restore a relationship?
PRAYER: Lord I know you love me and care for me and desire that I put any ill will behind my back and move on. Help me do that even if I don’t win the battle. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Anger Battle

He who is slow to anger is better than a warrior, and he who controls his temper is greater than one who captures a city. Proverbs 16:31

Do you ever find yourself getting really really mad? Anger is a human emotion but not one that is a ‘fruit of the Spirit”. When you are angry it can lead to discord, fights, people getting hurt, misunderstanding, broken relationships, divorce, broken homes, getting fired and so forth.

The opposite of anger is self control and peace. Try to identify what makes you upset. Perhaps just sit and confess to God that you need help and to help you get this emotion under control.

People and situations can make us angry. Tailgaters, line jumpers, those who betray us, wounds from a family members saying hurtful words. Many things can lead to discord and strife. The goal is to give it to the Lord and ask Him to transform your feelings for those who make you mad into supernatural love. It can happen. Through this healing and deliverance can occur.

PRAYER: I thank you for the gift of emotions and I know anger will get me nowhere good so help me relax and stay peaceful regardless. Give me the ability to forgive those who have caused my anger. Deliver those from darkness who seek to be in perpetual state of anger such as many in the media and politics today. Set them free and revive their hearts. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I Am About To Scream!!

Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.Proverbs 14:29

Have you ever been so angry and you feel guilty about it because you are a believer? Anger never solves anything and can tend to mushroom into many other undesirable situations.
Even Jesus was angry(Matthew 21:12-13) but never sinned. Anger is not sin but can lead to sin when it escalates. If someone or something has made you ‘righteously indignant’ as I like to call it, get away. Breathe. Get your Bible out. Read some Proverbs.

If a person is the one who caused you to be angry you might have to let it go, move on, and forgive even if they never saw anything they did as an offense. Tough thing to do but necessary. Letting it go. Another verse in scripture speaks of a soft answer turning away wrath(Proverbs 15:1).

Go sit somewhere and just relax and pray and thank God for the blessings He has heaped upon you.

PRAYER: Father forgive me when I have been angry and could not calm down. Help me any time something happens to create this help me get away and pray. Help me be able to unconditionally forgive those who have hurt me or hurt our relationship. Help me be calm with issues that create things that could cause me to pop a cork. Help me give stuff to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Do Your Part

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.Proverbs 15:1

Relationships of all kinds take work. I enjoy going to weddings and listening to the vows spoken mostly heart felt and sincere. How many people in marriages end up letting the flesh control them years after those Christian vows were spoken? If so shame on us for letting Satan in and kicking God out.

Many who hurt others whether in a marriage or a friend relationship often are stubborn and don't realize it. If you have suffered hurt from ugly words don't fight back but simply pray for the person. There may be something deeper going on. Love is patient, love is kind, love doesn't keep a record of wrongs.

If you are the recipient of someone else's anger or unforgiving spirit just keep praying for a breakthrough. God hears you. Above all don't lash out with your own angry words. Stand firm, be strong, and love unconditionally.

PRAYER: Father I thank you for helping me stay patient on life through many situations that come my way. When it involves people I thank you for the extra measure you have provided me to stay calm. In Jesus' name. Amen.
