Have you had an over ambitious week where you signed up for so many emails that they clog your inbox and you can’t find the important ones meaning a note from a friend or something from a business which requires your attention? 

Satan likes to keep you busy with non important things then you don’t have time for quality time with God and your family and friends. That little box we all carry around can get to be a real nuisance. 

So what to do to correct this. First start unsubscribing from stuff even Christian things because you can’t give quality time to every ministry that you know of it is not possible. Pray and maybe step away from electronics all together. You still have to have a way to retrieve important things that people send. Start today and get your inbox decluttered. 

PRAYER: Father help me prioritize things I get over email and give me time to clean up stuff and get the flow of good info coming and thus freeing up my brain cells. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

What Are You Believing God For?

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”Matthew 7:7

What are you believing God for my friend? A turn around in a relationship. A family member to come to the Lord? A person you know to be healed. It could be a host of things. 

Your heart may be broken and you don’t see how it can ever be healed but my friend God is a God of miracles if you will stand fast and believe. 

What are you praying and believing God for today? 

PRAYER:Lord keep me still as I wait and prepare hearts of those I have been praying for. In Jesus’ name. Amen

It’s All About Jesus-Resurrection Sunday

"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said." Matthew 28:6

 

Welcome to ‘Lilly’ Sunday the day many go to church out of obligation for it being a high Holy day for Christians worldwide. I don’t mean to say that in a mocking or flippant way but too often people come because deep down they know they should be there to celebrate the resurrection. 

It is hard to find anything remotely about Jesus’ resurrection in main stream stores. His brutal bloody death and miracle of His coming back to life 3 days later can’t be candy coated with chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, and decorated eggs. It is what it is. The miracle of prophecy coming true. And today there are many Easter traditions that aren’t wrong but I am not sure how they originated. Go with the flow. 

Get excited today about the miracle of the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. Ponder what it means. 

PRAYER: Today Lord I am grateful for the gift of eternal life when we believe in faith. I pray for those people who have trouble wrapping their mind around this biggest event ever. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Just Show Love

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth”. 1 Corinthians 13:4-6

Who hurt you? Who are you upset with? Who are you a little jealous of? Read today’s scripture again and apply it to the situation you are currently dealing with. 

Wow the keeping a record of wrongs is a biggie huh? How many times are we angry or upset over some issue and hold it over a persons head for years? Let it go. Don’t harbor that resentment! 

Put your name where the word ‘love’ is and read the verse again. Now go have a peaceful day. 

PRAYER: I thank you for giving me another day to do good on Earth. No matter what a person has done to me I choose love and forgiveness. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Are You Rebelling Against God ?

Do you follow culture or God? Simple question. Are more of your brain cells consuming the world’s ideas or Gods? So deep down that little voice inside of you urges you to do what God wants but you brush it off or rebel wanting to do your own thing. Peer pressure rears its’ ugly head and tries to destroy the innocence of children and youth. 

Someone else rebelled in the Bible remember Adam and Eve just for starters. They had strict orders what to do in the Garden but the serpent came to them and told them if they ate from the forbidden fruit tree they would be wiser than God. Hey that sounded pretty good who would know? 

Todays’ culture narrative is in full blown rebellion against God. So many people are just fine without a savior or so they think. He can redeem and restore and forgive anyone. Just go to Him in prayer. 

PRAYER: Father I lift my eyes to you as my help comes from you. Help those people in this world recognize good versus evil or God versus the culture and take a stand for Biblical truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Obsessing Over Death

"If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far." Philippians 1:22-23

 

True confessions folks but lately I find myself thinking too much about dying because so many seemingly healthy individuals in my age group, the infamous baby boomers, have sadly died. Sadly? Really did I just write that? But I  have been asking God to let me go before Dave or go together and dumb junk like that. Geez. Pray for me. What’s to be scared of? Nothing if you know the Lord.

 

What’s up with that Becky I thought you knew exactly where you were going and looking forward to it. Does this mean I am too attached to this life on earth? It could be or simply could be even though I know I will be in Heaven forever for eternity is very mind boggling. If mind boggling for me a believer just imagine non believers. 

I have lost many close friends to death and the grief for their surviving parent's, siblings and spouses is real and deep. People refer to it as crossing over but I would say for a believer to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.(2 Corinthians 5:8). Instant, poof, no more tears, no more pain. So friend do you know for certain where you will be when you take your last breath? 

PRAYER: Father I thank you for the promise of eternal life and I pray for people who may not know you as savior to make that decision soon because no one knows when they will die or when you will return. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

No Fooling

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7)

Jesus is Lord that is no joke. This day is the day people get pranks pulled on them. I am sure you have been the recipient of one in your life. And in my family I am a Halloween baby and one nephew is born on April Fool’s Day. That is no joke! 

Do you believe sometimes you feel foolish? I know without thinking you can do foolish things or say foolish things you are sorry for later. 

Do you believe Jesus is Lord? Do you believe you need to spend time with Him daily praying and meditating on His word? If you have little children do you know that if you don’t tell them about Jesus the world will teach them about other ‘gods’ so don’t be a fool. 

PRAYER: Father I need you in my life each and every minute of every day. Show me how to not be a fool. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
