Oh No I Qualified For An Olympic Event!

Have you ever heard of the sport called ‘jumping to conclusions’ of which I have won many medals in, ha ha?

Just wait, be patient,  get all the facts. Did not rush to judgment. I have been foolish many times acting and speaking or texting before knowing ‘the rest of the story’ and maybe you can identify? 

It is so very easy to overreact and be in a heap of trouble. 

Anyway today your assignment and mine is to sit calmly, gather all facts, don’t be hasty to utter something you regret later. Let’s do it ok? Oh yes, and pray. 

PRAYER: Lord I know you love me just how I am and I thank you for giving me a brain and help me to use it but to slow down and not overreact to things. Give me stillness Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Jail Time And Jesus

 

"So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."Hebrews 13:6

There have been many cases of jailed and imprisoned individuals finding Jesus and committing their life to him in prison. Right now our country is deep in lawlessness and I am not certain how party loyalists can defend a man wanting us to be a third world country. I am not scared as pray is what I will do. God is in charge. 

So much misinformation has gone throughout the world ever since 2016 to try to destroy a man who would be President and was loved by the people. Now my devotion is not about politics but it is about taking off blinders that Satan has put on so many people who hate for no reason and also caused great division in families and between friends. News media has done a great coverup and some day this will make a superb movie but it is not so peachy when leaders don’t respect the Constitution and seemingly are trying to destroy our nation with people believing lies. 

God is on the side of freedom and it says in scripture many places he hates a lying tongue and liars end up in the lake of fire. No one is perfect but people who truly love freedom and a strong defense and protecting our borders need to pray and not give up. Don’t desire evil against these criminals but instead desire that they come to Christ and repent of their sins. And pray for America to stay free in all ways. 

PRAYER: Lord you are my helper at all times. Sometimes you allow certain things to happen to wake people up. I ask that those blinded by the lies of Satan be set free and realize what a party they were loyal to stands for. I pray for peace to permeate our great land. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

One Nation Under God

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”.Psalm 33:12

The Bible is filled with prayers. Prayer is pretty simple, it is just talking to God. No fancy words needed, no seminary degree, no special title but just a conversation with God. 

America has been a nation that has been blessed but ever since our Founding Fathers started us on the road to freedom, mankind has rebelled and tried to be like God, think about the Garden of Eden way before anything. 

Today we have access to much Bible teaching unlike say people in the 1800’s. But yet man somehow was convinced by Satan that he could do things his way and there would be no penalty. Think again. How long will God bless a nation that put a law into place legalizing the killing of babies and now call it healthcare. This national day of prayer it is obvious Satan has infiltrated our leadership and we desperately need revival. I have been a prayer warrior since beng in Moms in Prayer International back in 1996. I have included links for it and the National Day of Prayer. Have a blessed day and don’t forget to talk to God. 

PRAYER: Father I thank you that I get to pray and you hear me. I know your heart is broken of the rebellion of your creation. Demonic spirits have taken control in some cases and need cast out. I pray for healing for this land and revival. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Stop Pointing The Finger

 

“Judge not, that you be not judged.” Matthew 7:1 

You have probably done it pretty sure most everyone has and that is passing judgment on someone due to a lifestyle choice, clothes they wear or don’t wear, drug use, tattoos or piercings and add to the list. None of us is perfect and the big news flash is God Loves everyone.

It is easy to look at the speck in your brothers eye when there is a log in your own is found  in Matthew 7:2-5 read it as well. Sometimes it is best to talk to God about things before you open your mouth and cause trouble.

So you get the urge to be someone’s conscience remember that is the Holy Spirits job so be still and pray. 

PRAYER: Lord I am sorry and a little embarrassed when I have opened my mouth to try to ‘fix’ something when I know that is not in my job description. Help me remember to pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

There You Go Again Throwing A Pity Party!

“Yet you were not willing to go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; and you grumbled in your tents and said, ‘Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to destroy us. Where can we go up? Our brethren have made our hearts melt, saying, “The people are bigger and taller than we; the cities are large and fortified to heaven. It is so easy to start feeling sorry for yourself and the key word in this is self. When your mind is not occupied on ‘things above’ it becomes extremely easy to slip into that mode and sometimes you need a caring friend to snap you out of it. 

As Joyce Meyer often says “Pity parties are pitiful” and indeed they are. You can justify them all you want but the only attendee would be yourself. If you catch yourself starting to blurt out some self centered statement stop then and instead give praise to God for all the things you have to be grateful for. 

Indeed things can make you sad but the key is to not focus on them or compare yourself to another person. Each person is on a unique journey, no two alike. Stay focused on the glory and goodness of God and you will have little time to feel sorry for yourself. 

PRAYER: Oh Lord you are wonderful. You give me emotions but it is up to me to use them in a proper way. I know feeling sorry for myself is not the answer. Satan is the author of Junk like that and in Jesus’ name I cast him out. In Jesus’ name. Amen..

Look Up From Your Phone

Since the start of social media around 2004, Americans have become zombies and slaves to misinformation, hate, self centered lives, unfriending and much more. I feel sorry for Generation Z who knows nothing of what life was like before this. Todays parents have a challenge to set limits for sure. 

Even to do my devotions I have to be on my device. Inordinate amounts of wasted time are racked up by thousands of people some even maybe hiding to use their device because deep down they know it isn’t good for their relationship with God or others. Sounds like an alcoholic with a bottle of booze. 

The problem is discipline and knowing when is it time to turn them off and go take a break instead of constantly peering into everyone’s life. God is still wanting quantity time with you and many well meaning believers, myself included, have often forgotten God is waiting to have time with you. Maybe a paper Bible, a note pad and pen, and just you. A quiet place uninterrupted yet safe. Learn to control the time you are looking at the tiny screen and have less neck pain too. Now go and talk to Jesus. 

PRAYER: Father I am thankful for technology but also think back to the mid 1800’s after watching Redeeming Love and seeing how life went on with hard work and no modern conveniences. Not sure if todays moderns would last long. Help us appreciate where I am and where I came from. Also help me to remember to love you then love others, regardless. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Our Great Guide

 

For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even till death. Psalm 48:14

Everything you do in life at one time or another required a guide. First as an infant with your parents as guides then later on taking lessons you have guides and then in school teachers guide you. 

I have had a snow ski guide a couple of times who when I followed instructions things went pretty smooth, if not I end up on runs way over my ability. Then there a river guides or wilderness guides.

You do realize God is our ultimate number one Guide? A guide is defined as one who shows the way by leading, directing, or advising. God leads and you are simply to listen and follow, heed his instructions found in God’s word. 

If you are a parent your prayer is for God to guide your children into all truth and that they don’t stray into the wrong path of life. Probably in your own life some relative was praying for you somewhere along your path. Are you following your Guide and listening to Him? 

PRAYER: I thank you for your word that I simply need to be disciplined to pick up and let it guide me in life. Help me drown out the noise of the enemy who doesn’t want me to hunger for the word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
