He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them "Mankind" when they were created. Genesis 5:2When I arrived at my doctor appointment for a follow up visit a few days ago I was the only female in the office. There were four men in the waiting room and everyone that came in was also male. I decided to silently pray for these men that they would be the men of God that He wanted them to be. I prayed that their families were thriving and intact. I prayed that they would be the spiritual head of their home or ask Jesus to be Lord of their life.In our world today, men are often the butt of jokes in commercials or television shows. Sometimes they are made to look like bumbling idiots. This is wrong because God designed the man to be the strong one,the provider, the head of the house and so it goes. Many liberated women do not like this scenario but it is the way God intended it from the Garden of Eden. I did not make it up. This does not mean men are better or are to lord over women like they do in the Muslim culture, but that they are designed by God to do certain things. Many of the problems of our world we see on nightly news are a result of the breakdown of the family or the absence of a father figure in the home. Dads, you are important. Your kids need you regardless of their age. They need your imprint in their lives. Your are important.PRAYER: Lord Jesus you designed a perfect creation. It is only mankind that has messed it up. You want man to be head of the house. We know this does not mean they are better but this is plan for a good life. Help me not resent this and bring honor and respect to those men in my life and for men praying this prayer help them to be the men you called them to be. In Jesus' name. Amen.

FOR THE BEAUTY OF THIS EARTH
My husband and I just are returning from a week long trip to
Fairbanks, Alaska. We had dreamed of this trip for five years now and feel very blessed to be able to go.
Talk about magnificent scenery! Alaska has it!
Think about the state you live in. There is something beautiful in
every state. Not every state is like Maine, Florida, Washington, Hawaii,
Arizona, California, Oregon, Utah or Alaska, but all states are God's beautiful
handiwork.
I have some foreign readers as well and they too are
blessed with lovely countries. All creation is God's. Rivers, streams, minerals in the Earth, vegetation, mountains, birds, fish, animals, sunrises, sunsets, rain, snow, a cool breeze. He did it all. We are not to worship nature and the things He created but we are to give Him thanks. He gave us all this to enjoy and take care of.
You can see and feel God's majesty in the power of a storm or by the
crashing waves of the ocean. You can see his handiwork in a tiny
newborn baby. It says in Psalm 138:13 that "he knit us together in our
mother's womb."
When the April 27,2013 tornado outbreak hit our area I was on my back
porch looking up at the ominous dark clouds moving quickly overhead.
My reaction was not one of fear but I lifted my hands up in prayer and
song telling God how glorious He was. I prayed that the funnels
touching down around us would miss us. They did. God is mighty indeed.
Praise him in the good and the not so good.
Psalm 19:1 says 'The heavens declare the glory of God; and the
firmament shows his handiwork".
If you are having a bad day why not stop what you are doing and make a
list of all the marvelous creations and wonders of God. I doubt you
will stay grumpy much longer. Take time to look around and sing His
praises.
PRAYER: Lord you alone are worthy of our highest praise. You have done
so much for us. First, just thank you that I was born in the first
place. Birth is such a miracle! Thank you for all of your creation. It
is marvelous indeed. In Jesus' name. Amen.

GOD IS SO AWESOME!
In the recent thunderstorms we have had here in the area in which I live, it is hard to not marvel at the glory of God shown in nature. We are not to worship nature but we can look at the beauty of the things around us and know this all did not happen by some scientific thing or tremendous bang. How can anyone not think God is the creator is beyond me.
Mountains, streams, whitewater, singing birds, eagles swooping down, seeds that produce food to nourish and sustain life. It is incredible. On a starry night gaze up into the night sky and see the twinkling. If you are flying in a plane just ponder the greatness and the vastness of creation as you gaze upon the clouds. God is indeed great. We are part of that great creation. Just the way he spoke all of this into existence. It is marvelous!
If something is weighing you down today why not stop for a moment and get outside and look up into the sky and think of the glory of God. We are so little compared to most things in His creation yet He cares for us and loves us so very much. It is nice to get away to a park if you can. By all means be safe but get to a place where noise is not a factor. Stop for a moment and just lift your hands in praise to God. He indeed is great and mighty!
Psalm 19:1(NIV) says 'the heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands.' John 1:1(NIV) says 'In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God.' Continue reading in the book of John. It will indeed lift your spirits if you are having a bad day.
PRAYER: Today Lord I once again say thanks for all the great things in your creation. You have provided this beautiful land for us to enjoy and care for. Thank you for meeting our needs and helping us each and every day. I love you Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN
Forty three years ago today man walked on the moon for the first time ever. Quite a feat and accomplishment indeed with many intelligent and creative minds behind the scenes helping make it happen. Man indeed can accomplish anything he sets his mind to with God's help. God has given us abilities and talents and it is up to us to use them.
These men who landed on the surface of the moon in 1969 surely could see God's handiwork all around them. It would be rather difficult to walk on the surface of the moon gazing back miles away at the little ball where they live known as Earth. It would be awe inspiring and breath taking indeed. So this day was "one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind" as Astronaut Neil Armstrong said when stepping on the surface of the moon.
Our earth and solar system are indeed the handiwork of God our creator. How anyone would think otherwise is beyond my imagining but Satan can delude minds. Those who still think we just 'popped' into existence well I have one thing to say. It is something I saw on a bumper sticker which read "Big Bang Theory: God spoke and bang it happened!"
Just look around you. Go outside at night and gaze into the starry sky which seems to go on forever. Hike out in the forest and just see the beauty of God's creation. Every part of the earth is so beautiful and wonderful in its' own unique way, God had a plan and He did good and when he created the earth remember He said "It is good" referring to His creation.
Psalm 24:1 says " The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." 1 Corinthians 10:26 says "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it." Genesis 1:9 says "And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so." In Psalm 89:11 it says "The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it." God did make it all.
Do you take the beauty of creation for granted? Get out and about and turn off the TV and go explore God's creation. Take time while outside to give Him thanks and praise for all He has done for you.
PRAYER: Father God I thank you for the earth and your entire creation. The astronauts were blessed to get to see it from thousands of miles away. A tiny speck in the big universe but you have created it all. Help us Lord to always have thankful hearts for what you have done for us and forgive us if we take things you have blessed us with for granted. In Jesus Name. Amen.

STAY AMAZED
Have you ever pondered the different inventions that make life wonderful? The telephone for instance and how nice and how awesome and remarkable it is that a voice can travel over airwaves. Or a color picture on television? We thought Polaroid cameras were neat in my high school days when in one minute we could see an instant picture but how about todays digital photos? How cool is all this? A refrigerator that keeps food cold and a freezer that stores ice cream is another marvel. How about flying on a jet that gets you from Los Angeles to New York City in 5 hours? Even email is such a wonder. This list is endless.
Do you take those marvels invented by mankind for granted? I hope not. God inspired many talented people to create things we could not even imagine hundreds of years ago. God gives the mind to create and discover. It is truly amazing! But what is more amazing?
Inventions are pretty terrific but what about the whole of God's creation? This past week on Saturday night we experienced what was called 'the super moon' and people were in awe of its huge size. God is pretty great isn't he? He is the creator of lots of amazing things. Many scientists try to discount God saying how dinosaurs were here roaming the earth billions of years ago and that we came about as a result of 'The Big Bang Theory'. I saw a humorous bumper sticker in my church parking lot recently which read "The Big Bang Theory: God Spoke and Bang It Happened". Now that puts it in a nutshell I would say.
If you are ever in the Cincinnati area I urge you to tour the Creation Museum just across the river in Northern Kentucky. This museum literally brings the Bible and Gods' creation to life before your very eyes. Check out www.creationmuseum.org for information. God is the maker of all things. The earth and the fullness thereof it says in Psalm 24:1. It is wonderful to see mountains, seashore, waterfalls, beautiful flowers, chirping birds, newborn babies, exotic animals and even our cute little pets at home. God sure did a terrific job with all of it, but then why wouldn't He as He is God.
Genesis 1:1 says " In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." He did and He said "It is good!" and he was right. Stop today to be amazed at the little things around you.
PRAYER: Lord you are good and your creation is amazing. Help me never tke for granted the simple joys of life that are all around us. In Jesus name. Amen!
