Broken But In For Repairs

Persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Corinthians 4:9

Cars break and we take them to the dealer for repair unless we know how to do it ourselves. Break your leg and it is time for a visit to the doctor for a repair. Clothes are torn and need to be sewn. Tires get a flat and have to be patched. When a dish is broken we often glue it back together. When I was a child my little teddy bear named  "Bucky Bear', which I still have on a chair in my living room, fell in a child's swimming pool a few times. I recall my mom taking the stuffing out and hanging it on the clothesline to dry then re-stuffing it with perhaps old hosiery. It had many operations to put it back together.

"Life is fragile handle with prayer" is a familiar phrase. Broken spirits, broken hearts, broken relationships, broken promises all can add up to a very broken person.  Often times it is hard to visualize every being whole again when you hurt. God is the great repairer of brokenness. God is the great healer and deliverer of brokenness in life. Often overwhelmed perhaps there is no hope. That feeling is from the enemy whose purpose is to destroy hope and make us feel helpless. Don't allow that to happen. Rise up my friend.

Time to go to God's repair shop and cry out to Him to help you through.

PRAYER: Lord oh Lord you are so great and mighty. You have the power to do it all. I need only cry out to you and you can heal wounds of brokenness and set me free. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Help Me Lord!

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.Psalm 34:18
Some hurts feel like they will never go away. Death of a loved one, rejection by a friend, being fired, divorce, regrets,  betrayal, estrangement from a family member, failure at a task. Whatever it is you are dealing with God does care. The rejection by a friend is an issue I have had to deal with and it is very hurtful and confusing. I know people cut off from a family member who refuses to let then into their life. I can not even begin to imagine the pain of losing a child but have had friends who have walked that awful path.
At times many blame God on their hurts. Guess what? That is the enemies mind game making you feel God could have stepped in, after all he is God. All I know is God can work through situations and bring you hope for tomorrow. If you have shut Him out of your life why not ask Him to forgive you. God is not responsible for the bad junk in your life. Get on your knees and cry out to Him. Ask Him to help you mend your broken heart. He will.
PRAYER: Another day is here and another day to experience comfort only you can give. Thank you for hearing my cries and being there at all times. In Jesus' name. Amen.

BROKEN, SHATTERED, FRACTURED

Does my title describe how you feel at times? Do you ever feel there is no way out or some prayer is falling on deaf ears? First of all God is not deaf but his ways are not our ways it says in Isaiah 55:8-9.

Instead of brokeness why not shoot for the goal of wholeness, being mended, healed, set free, and forgiven.

Just recently I heard from a friend that a neighbor of hers had cancer and was blaming God. Why do people automatically blame God and get mad at Him? Why not be mad at the destroyer, liar, deceiver, thief known as Satan? It is so easy to think God can just wave a magic wand and all things will be happy. Trials and struggles believe it or not do make you stronger.

God can indeed use our brokenness to get us closer to Him. Remember that Jesus Christ suffered the ultimate form of brokenness on the cross when he was crucified. Isaiah 53:5(NKJV) says 'But He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.'

When you are going through trials of any kind it is hurtful and no fun. Seem times you just feel you can not go on and things are never going to change. Those thoughts come from the enemy who likes to destroy our good thought life and positive attitude. In 1 Peter 1:7(KJV) we are told 'That the trial of your faith being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, though be tried by fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.' James 1:2-4(NIV) says 'Consider it pure joy my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its' work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.'

God is the great mender, healer, and deliverer. Cry out to Him today.he will see you through.

PRAYER: Thank you Lord that you will with me through the hard times of life. I realize that many of these trials are meant to conform me more to your image. Give me strength to hang on and not give up. In Jesus' name.Amen.

BEATEN UP BY YOUR FELLOWMAN??

Do you feel like Job in the Bible who seems to have everything go wrong? Has one thing after the other continued to press down on you til you think you can not take it anymore? Have you lost your job? Have friends turned their backs on you? Have you been betrayed by family? Have people told lies about you at work? Have you been wrongly accused of something and are having a hard time proving your innocence? Has there been a death that has left a gaping hole in your heart you feel will never be healed? Are bills piling up but you do not know how you will manage to pay them?

Not everyone has a rosy life. Some people bring on struggles themselves but others have things happen they did nothing to cause.1 Peter 1:7 says "These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."  Psalm 66:10 says "For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver." Sometimes we are put in the refiners fire,so to speak, to test us and grow us and shape us into more of a God like character . We know it says in James 1:2-3 it says "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." That is what we are striving for. No one likes suffering. But somethings that happen that seem bad ultimately turn out for our good.

Psalm 145:14 gives encouragement to those who feel like they have lost hope. It says "The LORD upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. Psalm 37:24 says "though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand." Psalm 57:6 says "They spread a net for my feet--I was bowed down in distress. They dug a pit in my path--but they have fallen into it themselves."  Psalm 108:13 tells us "With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies." Psalm 147:3 says "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

What is bothering you today? God is for you so who can be against you?(See Romans 8:31). That is all that matters. Hang on. God has a plan!

PRAYER: Lord God help me to trust you and you alone for all that I need in life. When others come against me and hurt me or ridicule me I know you are all that matters.Help me to learn to forgive those who have wronged me. It is love that covers a multitude of sins and love that will win out.I want to focus on your love Lord so I am not sunk into a pity pit or a cavern of despair. Lord I thank you for delivering me. In Jesus Name. Amen.

BROKEN PEOPLE

All of us, if we are honest, have some dysfunction and issues in our lives. No one is perfect. God uses all things to redeem, restore, and rebuild lives.

Psalm 40:2 says "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand."  Many people have to sink pretty low till they cry out to God, "save me oh Lord!"

Hurts occur, such as the pain of rejection for instance, be it from a spouse, friend, or a boss, to site  three examples. Sometimes, until a true painful need occurs, we just ignore God. Psalm 27:5 says " For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock." God can fix a broken heart, broken life or a wounded spirit.

When you have a 'broken' friend they need your unconditional love, mercy and grace in order to start the healing process.  Broken people need a shoulder to cry on and a friend willing to listen.

Psalm 51:17 says "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." Psalm 34:18 says "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 147:3 says " He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

There is always hope. Jesus is with you on your journey. The 'Footprints' poem is very familiar to most. As you may recall  there were two sets of footprints on the beach then only one. The person got a little miffed and said "Hey God,where did you go?" or something like that. Jesus said, " I was carrying you at those times there was only one set of prints."

Are you hurting today? Let God carry you through.

PRAYER: Father I know you can mend my broken heart. I rejoice as each day brings new hope and new joy. Father God I will resist the attempts of the enemy to drag me down in his pit and look to you and fix my eyes on you Lord. Thank you for lifting me up. In Jesus name. Amen.
