From This Day Forward

This is a common phrase that is recited in Christian’s wedding vows. You and your soon to be betrothed pledge to love, honor and cherish from this day forward as long as you both shall live.

It is the month of love celebrating the Hallmark holiday as I call it, Valentines Day. I know people married on this day which is tomorrow. But do people take seriously this joining together and leaving and cleaving?

I feel that many are so emotional that to really take vows seriously at the time is just something many think they will do. Then why do so many marriages crumble leaving in their wake broken hearts and broken families. My purpose is to not guilt you but make you think about committing to happily ever after and work through issues to get stronger together. Don’t pass judgment on those who did divorce because you don’t know whole story and God restores and brings beauty out of ashes.

PRAYER: Lord I thank you for marriage. Help me respect my spouse and be faithful to him in all I do. For those who are single help them know God can use them right where they are. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
