Dweller Or A Drop-In?

 

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1

Do you dwell in the house of the Lord or simply drop in? To dwell is to remain to drop in is more of a hurried casual thing almost an afterthought of sorts. 

Do you enjoy time with the Lord on Sunday or are you looking at your watch and can’t wait till it’s over? Perhaps your relationship with the Holy One is not where it should be. 

Does the Holy Spirit bring conviction upon you that your time with the Lord is lacking and not committed at all? Do you want God to be your dwelling place?

PRAYER: I seek your face Lord and choose to run from wickedness and evil. I realize Satan will come along and lie and deceive and even try to turn the truth of God into a lie to justify sin. I pray for those I know who are stuck and don’t know how to dwell to find Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Failure Is The Door To Victory And Healing

The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. Psalm 138:8

I heard of a person who said they couldn’t serve in teaching capacity in the church as they had failed as a parent. That is such a lie from the enemy. 

God used 12 unlikely men as his disciples. They definitely had their issues. When you go through something you get stronger and God uses what has been part of your life to shape you to be effective in the kingdom. 

If people could be honest and unashamed there are many hurting Christian parents who feel like they failed because a child went astray. It is a trick and lie of Satan to keep you emotionally crippled and defeated and also to keep you from being used by kingdom of God for his purposes. 
Go forth in faith and boldness with God as your rear guard and stop living defeated over something you had no control over. 

PRAYER: I need you Lord and forgive me if I have ever given flimsy excuses or pitied myself and have been ineffective and excused myself from a leadership role in the body of Christ. God’s story is far from over and I lay any inadequacies at the foot of the cross. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Are You Engaged?

Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.Philippians 4:5

No I don’t mean are you engaged to be married to that special person in your life but are you engaged with people around you. I thought of that on Sunday upon the close of our weekly worship service. 

Are you waiting for people to talk to you or do you go up to them? Often times a person alone comes into a church and no one talks to them. You can get in your Holy huddle missing those  around you who need a smile so introduce yourself. 

Many churches often have a time to greet those seated near you with a high five or fist bump or now that Covid is going away a handshake.It only takes a moment to say hello and it could mean the difference in if the person decides to return.If you don’t have a church home there are many fine, friendly, Bible teaching, life giving churches in every state in our beautiful country. And don’t hesitate to invite a friend or neighbor or even a stranger in line at a store. 

PRAYER: I am grateful for your love for me Lord and help me show that love to those I come into contact with daily. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Hitting Rock Bottom

The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. Proverbs 24:16

What does it take for some to completely 100% embrace grace, forgiveness, redemption, and healing? The devil is at work overtime lying and deceiving people, some who were getting set free. The enemy sticks his foot out and trips them. 

This is warfare full out assault. When a person turns their backs on friends and family who were speaking truth and trying to help it is demonic warfare. A simple visit to a wrong friend posing as a right friend is all Satan needs to make a person who was falling continue to fall. 

Good news is the story is far from over. Whatever the issue is God hears the prayers of moms, friends, dads, prayer groups, and sometimes when God has a plan to really use the person to help thousands get set free from whatever is dragging them down the enemy works even harder to cause arguments and belittling of family and friends who were on the broken persons side. If this is describing a situation in your life or someone you know, keep fighting and knowing Satan will not be victorious and your loved one will be hearing the truth again. 

PRAYER: My heart aches when I hear of stories or even if it is my story of people who are misled and therefore mislead others sometimes claiming to have great Bible knowledge. Satan is attacking and I claim the blood of Jesus over all family members or any friends being deceived. Set them free. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Just Keep Praying

 

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Are you carrying a heavy burden sometimes too painful to want to share with others or perhaps the enemy has convinced you to keep it a secret. Don’t do that friend, you need prayer support!

Never ever give up on the issue or person you are crying out for. Maybe things seemed to be improving and it flip flopped. Satan loves to drag people back into the muck and convince them that is the place to grow and have friends.

 The truth is, the word of God is alive and if you follow it and continue in war against the enemy, you will have victory and see your friend or family members rescued once and for all. Press in and stay the course and don’t listen to the lies of the enemy. 

PRAYER: Father I know the battle for souls is constant so I choose to not listen to taunts of Satan and the lies telling me nothing will ever change. I am pressing forward with your help to squelch the lies of the enemy. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Prying Into Another’s Business Can Wreak Havoc

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.1 Peter 4:15-16

Have you ever been caught up in a conversation which ends really as a gossip chain because every person is speculating and no one really knows all the facts. I confess I have and it leaves me uneasy, ashamed, and sad at myself for not be slow to act and slow to speak. 

As the Navy says “Loose Lips Sink Ships” and it can even happen in church or prayer chains. Don’t speculate. Don’t allow the enemy to create division in the body. Keep your nose in your own business. 

If you are with others and they start speculating and getting gossipy don’t enter into the conversation. Maybe even take the action of saying “Gotta go now” and get away from the temptation of this horrible habit when no one really knows. Make sure to keep prayers confidential if someone asked you to as well. Just saying, 

PRAYER: Father I left my hands to you in praise and adoration. Thank you for being there for me in prayer. Keep me from judging or gossip and help me to love others as you would. In Jesus’ name. Amen .

The Message Failed To Send

 

“The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them. The LORD preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy. Psalm 145:18-20

 

Most of you who use cell phones or computers have probably faced text messages and emails not going through with the error message ‘The message failed to send’ and in some cases it saves you from spur of the moment embarrassment.

Did you know that when you talk to God in prayer it goes  through the wonderful cyberspace of open communication with the Almighty.  Now anyone can pray it does not take some training on a new language or changing your voice or saying Thee or Thou. Simply talk to him. 

Ask God if there is anything in your life that displeases him. Also pray for friends or family that are far from God whether they know it or not. Get real with Him.  Now go share your heart with God. 

PRAYER: Father I need you. There was a time that I thought I could do things on my own or my own way. Forgive me. Help those I know who have religion but not a personal relationship with you. Guard my heart and mind so I don’t fall into sin. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
