The Tock Is Clicking

For he says, in the time of my favor I heard you and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of Gods'  favor, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2

Made you look with that title huh? A little play on words to remind us our 'clock is ticking' each and every day. We never know when we will breathe our last breath. If we could choose the way we want to die it may be just sleeping in bed, at age 95, as long as we're still in good health and not on feeding tubes. We do not  get to choose the way we die. And we do not know when. We need to be ready at all times as the Lord could come back anytime it says in the Bible.

Just because you are a church member, baptized, or a certain denomination does not guarantee you admission into the heavenly kingdom. Make sure you know beyond a shadow of a doubt you have asked Jesus to be your Lord and savior. Now is the time of salvation. Don't be left behind.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus we know and we feel the last days are near because of prophecies being fulfilled but yet no one knows the day or the hour. I want to be sure when it is time. In Jesus' name. Amen.

DON'T BE A FOOL!

Crazy world we are living in today. What is wrong is being called right and what is right is being called wrong. Speaking up against something in the Bible makes you "hateful". Since when did disagreeing with something imply that we hated a person? The enemy is alive and well on planet Earth my friends, doing some of his best work yet this time trying to distract Christians and have people called evil if they won't tolerate something they know is wrong. Even ministers of the gospel, rabbi's and priests may not publicly have the courage to say what is in God's word is true.
For those unaware this is occurring and think I am crazy, let me tell you, it is happening and many times endorsed by our own government. Very sad day indeed.
In an excerpt from Psalm 14:1(NIV) it says 'the fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Many movements are underway to try to get rid of "religion" or anything that has a cross or Bible verse on it. Philippians 3:18-19(ESV) says 'For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things." Does that remotely sound like today? It is going to get to a point if a Christian speaks up against evil or something that is wrong in God's eyes they may be arrested for being "hateful and intolerant'.
We know the "end of the story" so it is not necessary to sit around fearful and in a panic. We do need to be studying and equipping ourselves with knowledge of God's word. What if one day it got so bad Bibles were banned? It has happened in other places so why are we any different? Our Constitution is great only when it is obeyed and followed. Do you have enough of God's word stored up in your heart to help you through hard times that may come?
Psalm 119:11(NIV) says 'I have hidden your word in my heart that I may not sin against you.' If you are a parent, even of a newborn, you need to start now getting scripture into their tiny hearts. Every day read a Bible verse. 2 Timothy 3:15(NIV) says 'And how from infancy you have known the Holy scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.' Young moms and dads out there or grandmas and grandpas, let your children hear the word of God daily. Their life with God is more important than nursery rhymes or Sesame Street.
So do you want to be a fool or have great wisdom? I think the answer is evident. Start today and get serious about getting into the word of God.
PRAYER: Lord I thank you this day for all you have given me. Thank you for the privilege of worship and studying God's word. I pray for those who may be residing in countries where Christian radio, television, and expression is cause for arrest or even death. Lord Jesus use me as a light in the dark world around me and keep me from ever being a fool. In Jesus' name. Amen.

SIN IS SIN

Lately in our nation more sin has been legitimized and Christianity has
been shoved back. We who believe strongly in moral Biblical issues are called hateful and bigots. No one hates anyone but we are speaking out against objectionable things which are sins in the Bible. A rapid onset of worldliness and desensitization which has been going on for years now has the highest court in the land calling Christians awful things. It will get worse so batten down the hatches. Our Founding Fathers would be so sad and disappointed in how our courts and leaders have become. No more do they appear to be using God's word as their moral compass. We have the Bible which is not to be rewritten just to please someone who wants to make what they are doing lawful. I am sad to say we are slowly becoming a lawless society when leaders do what they want and not what people want. Do not worry readers, I am not getting political on you but we who l know, read, and study God's word know it is TRUTH. It is not changed just because we feel it is outdated.
Don't quit standing up for truth and righteous. Galatians 6:9(NIV) says 'Let us not be weary in doing good for in the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.' 1 Peter 4:12-14(NIV) says 'Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.'
Hebrews 11:25(NIV) says 'He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.' There indeed is earthly pleasure in some sins but deep inside of each person there is a conviction or a conscious of knowing what is right and wrong. Recently those who spoke up in support of the Biblical definition of marriage were ridiculed simply for believing what the Bible says. This is going to happen more and more as we get closer to Jesus' return.
Thomas Jefferson once said 'When the people fear the government there is tyranny and when the government fears the people there is liberty.' Many fine Americans have tried to speak out and do it without any hatred yet are silenced. Especially when it comes to the area of morals. We all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory it says in Romans 3:23 but we do not just go make laws so we have no consequences for our sins. There is a consequence to all disobedience toward God that is or repented.
Today as a believer our challenge is to stay deeply rooted in God's word and to keep loving, not hating. God is the ultimate authority and has the last say so take heart.
PRAYER: Today Lord I choose you over being lawless. I commit to pray for not only my life but for those I know who are believing lies from the pit of hell. I pray Lord for our country. I pray that as we approach the 4th of July freedom will continue to ring. In Jesus' name.Amen.

ARE YOU READY?

Are you truly ready to meet Jesus and do you know you would be in heaven if you were to die tomorrow? There are many people who think we are living in the last times because of the onslaught of immorality even approved by our own 'once God fearing' government and other signs too. All these people can predict the end of the world and even pin it down to a date but it says in scripture in Matthew 24:36 that "no man knows the day nor the hour". "One man will be in a field plowing and the other be taken" it says in Luke 17:36.

The movie series 'Left Behind' is a must see for Christians. Rent it or buy it but see it!! All these scenes from the Rapture and the last days before the anti Christ comes back, known in the movie as Carpathia, are depicted.

Ephesians 5:5-6 says "For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient."  Matthew 24:37 says "But just as the days of Noah, so will the coming of The Son of Man be." As you recall Noah was preparing for a flood as people were making fun of Him. But the flood came and life was destroyed. So be ready. Heed the warnings in scripture.

Acts 4:14-21 says "Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: ‘In the last days, God says,I will pour out my Spirit on all people.Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women,I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

I heard an awesome sermon preached on this a couple weeks ago and it made you think. You can be in your shelter with all your freeze dried food and be fearing catastrophic events. First of all we are 'not to fear' but to trust that if you do what God wants to you to do and follow Him then you will be okay. You do not have to be fretting and wringing your hands in despair.

Have you asked Jesus into your heart? I did not say "Are you a church member" or "are you baptized" but have you asked Jesus to be Lord of your life today? A denomination will not save you. Your grandmother being a certain church member so therefore you are  in the same church will not save you. Just because you attend church will not guarantee you admission to heaven. Say "Father I ask you to forgive me of my sins. I want to live for you and serve you. Come into my heart and take control."

PRAYER: Lord I want to live for you and serve you. I know that I need you to be Lord of my life. I know a denomination does not save me. I know church ritual does not save me. I ask you to come into my heart and be Lord of my life. I surrender to you Lord now. In Jesus Name. Amen.
