God Of Their Own Understanding

And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back Will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 2 Thessalonians  2:6-7

Do you feel a conviction  to help change the world? You are a representative to the culture for the Lord if you are walking with Him daily. Demonic spirits are in this world and tricking many into a different belief system but you as a believer are called to serve God, love, and help others find the way to the truth.

When you speak out against wrong  you are helping restrain evil by engaging in the modern culture. You may be harassed, stared at, made fun of, mocked, jeered, and not understood even by close friends but you are not to be a wall flower when you see evil permeating the culture. Your senses have to be trained in godliness and this is done by study of the word. 

In this present day culture many are following the god of their own understanding and not the God of the Bible. Many listen to people rather than the voice of truth. My friend simply keep praying and keep yourself from slipping. One day all the sin will be taken care of at the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t lose heart.

PRAYER: Lord God at times it feels that mankind is the enemy but I know this world is in major warfare against spiritual darkness and it looms like a giant trying to capture and smother people. I pray for protection from this darkness for my family and friends who are far from you that you would be their light and bring them back to the knowledge of the truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Some Things Just Aren’t Right

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

God’s way versus cultures way. Christians being called ugly names because they have a standard set by Gods’ word on things such as one man one woman marriage but the world screams at us, bigots! People arguing points on Facebook and getting angry when someone disagrees. If you know of any people like this don’t engage them simply pray for them. 

Satan has America in the crosshairs confusing so many and pitting groups and family and friends  against one other. Many tend to believe a newspaper more than God’s word and let its headlines guide them. Don't go there please. Simply disagreeing these days somehow puts the label ‘hater’ on you. 

It is time for revival in this great land. It is time for an awakening of major proportion. Don’t run with the worlds ways and if you know those who do just keep lifting them up in prayer. God has this! 

PRAYER: My heart aches for those people born in this century who never really knew of the righteousness that used to exist. I pray for bravery as we stand up against a hostile culture. Help those I know take the blinders off and be set free. In Jesus’ name. Amen. 

Sheep Among Many, Many Wolves

 "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves." Matthew 10:16

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you feel you are the only committed believer? For a college student it could be on the college campuses of many state, private,  or Ivy League schools. To try to 'fit in' a person may do things or believe things they know deep down are not right and not in line with scripture but they are sucked in anyway.  Even when not trying to 'fit in', the teaching at so many institutions of higher learning is trying to get our sons and daughters to conform to a worldview never taught at home. There may be parents reading this who know just what I am talking about. 

The verse above says it all. Sheep among wolves. Imagine a poor innocent little sheep stuck out in the field when all of a sudden a wolf or pack of wolves appears. Only the shepherd can save this little lamb. Only our savior and shepherd, Jesus Christ, can save us. You do not need to despair but need to be on your knees in prayer. And pray for places you know where it seems that outspoken believers may be in the minority. 

It is easy to stay in Holy huddles, as I heard one person call it once, where you never have to be uncomfortable or encounter situations where you might have to speak up in love. You could be the only one and really get scared. It could be at the office, school, sports team, or even in your family. Be bold for Christ but not obnoxious. Jesus is love and we are to be loving. He came to seek and save those who were lost and that is exactly what our job is too. 

PRAYER: My job is not to just feel like a happy Christian all the time but it is to get out there and witness, but as I do help me not be sucked into strange philosophies not of your teaching Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Times Change But Not God

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32

Does today's world perplex you? Perhaps if you are under 45 it does not, but for those of us who have been around a bit longer, we have seen great immoral slides in these great United States of America. Elections, as we know, do have consequences. There may be many people, even Christians,  who do not see Election Days as important, but they are indeed. The enemy, Satan, has deceived many into believing lies and being desensitized to sin. Things that would have been appalling just a few years ago are now condoned and even legalized by the government, which originally was founded on God's word as a guide. We have drifted far from that.

What do we need to do to regain our moral compass? First, believe God's word and study it faithfully. Do not make God a hobby you do for one hour then forget about being a Christian till the following Sunday rolls around. Next, become entrenched and dedicated to getting closer to God. If you don't want to, then maybe your heart was never right in the first place.Third, pray for the truth to be revealed to those who are believing lies.  Finally, ask God to restore this marvelous country and bring revival in the heart of man.

It is time to rise up and restore this nation to the principles found in God's word. "Each one reach one" was a saying I heard a few years ago. Everyone does his or her part to share God's love and speak the truth in love. Together we can turn back evil and defeat the enemy.

PRAYER: It breaks my heart to see people I know and love get caught up in Satan's lies and the secular worldview instead of a Christian worldview. Protect me Lord from being deceived by the enemy as I know he roams around trying to capture people. Guide me into seeking the truth. In Jesus' name. Amen. 

Happiness Versus Holiness

He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. Hebrews 11:25

Have you ever heard the verse above before? Sin is enticing yet in the times we live in many forget sometimes what is wrong and thus sinful and what is right or in other words Holy  and pleasing to God. Our goal in life should not be to just be happy but to be happy as well as Holy. There are those who make fun of the acronym WWJD or 'what would Jesus do' but in fact maybe that is a good thing to ask ourselves sometimes. 

Today many things are justified as okay and more people are concerned about being politically correct more than 'God correct'. This is a dangerous and sad state of affairs. When trying to make your own interpretation of what you think God meant by marriage for instance. Another one would be marriage vows taken so lightly even by Christians. Deciding that is it okay to do away with life in the womb. Just so many areas where we have no business determining right and wrong. Now everyone has sinned and no sin is the big one. Also we are not to judge but indeed stay on your knees and ask God to help you discern good from evil.

Whatever you have done you can go to God and He can and will forgive you and can set you free to live a life of righteousness. You can be happy and be Holy too!

PRAYER: Lord I know you love the sinner and we are all sinners. Help those people caught up in so many lies that cannot see the real truth in your word. Open blind eyes to live a life of Holiness. In Jesus' name. Amen.
