Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milk...Clean It Up

In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness. Titus 2:7

Everyone reading no doubt has probably spilled milk, water, soda pop, coffee you name it it has tipped over and made a mess. Have you ever been in a public place and witnessed this? If so you could actually jump in and help the embarrassed person clean it up and perhaps be a good witness to people watching as well. Not so you get glory but to show a random act of kindness and brighten another’s day.

Look around for ways you can help a down trodden person. Look at bad moments as opportunities to work for the kingdom of God. “Not to us but to your name goes the glory” it says in Psalm 115 verse one. You don’t need a medal or thank you note just do it for God.

Be a servant not just in public places but in the quiet places of your home to your spouse and your children or to an extended family member. Do things that are not expected. Now go clean up that milk!

PRAYER: Oh Lord I always want to have the attitude it may not be my job to help but I want to. Litter, spilled drinks, and other situations. I want you to get the glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Timothy Hugs

Be kind one to another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
I was in a local dry cleaners recently when a very friendly small male child came running and hopped up into my arms. This totally made my day. His name was Timothy if I remember correctly. This small boy was unlike adults who sometimes can't even smile when you pass and say hello or smile at them which also recently occurred in a local super market.

If we could only all be like children. So innocent. No quirks or hangups yet. No societal rules telling them they should not be friendly to strangers. This showed to me the love in this child's heart probably instilled by parents and how he had a joyful spirit. Oh if only all of us had that kind of attitude towards strangers. I am not saying to run up and hug a stranger but to be kind, smile, and help out when needed.

Why not go out in childlike faith today and show God's love and kindness to those in your path.

PRAYER: Lord I want to not grow up to be an old fuddy duddy who is grouchy, complaining, unhappy, unsatisfied but to be like a child and be happy and joyful to those around me. In Jesus' name.Amen.

Good Goes Around

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.Ephesians 4:32

When I used to work for Delta Air Lines their motto was 'Good Goes Around'. Good truly does go around. When you are nice to someone it has a way of trickling down and helping others be nice. Also when someone
is kind to you the reaction is a big huge smile.

One day I was in Target and a lady behind me gave the clerk a single penny to help me with my bill.Yes it was just a penny but it was thought that counts. Maybe you have done this for someone as well. Perhaps it was even a quarter, a dollar or their entire bill! It just makes me feel good to go behind
the call of city.

Today do something unexpected for someone. You could be in a coffee shop and decide to pay for the person behind you. Treat a friend to lunch even if it is not their birthday. Give an unexpected gift. Write a letter to your mom or dad if they are still alive. Today let this be a good day where you spread goodness to others.

PRAYER: Help me Lord to think of others and find ways to show kindness throughout my day. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Peace With People

Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Are you irritated in certain situations such as bad traffic, waiting in line, dealing with co workers or a boss, a slow waitress? If so then you know you need to probably work on developing a peaceful spirit and not one constantly agitated. People who are not peaceful can tend to easily explode and could make a scene. If you are a believer in Christ and want to attempt to live for Him and emulate Him around the clock then ask The Holy Spirit to indwell you and fill you with perfect peace.

When a person is less than peaceful they go through life always angry or upset. Things do not go their way and they 'pop a cork' so to speak. This then could escalate into a angry words, a physical confrontation and from there, who knows what. It is necessary to get a grip on being a peaceful person and being peaceful with others.

It is your choice. Peace or restlessness and worry. Only you can decide.

PRAYER: There have been times in my past Lord I acted less than peaceful. I choose to be peaceful and not allow the craziness of life to turn me into an upset person. Give me your strength. In Jesus' name. Amen.
