Attacks On Every Front

“Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” (Eph. 6:11-12)

Who could have written a script including all the chaos that is going on in our world especially America right now. Ugliness on every front. Social media users need to steer clear of anything too sensitive which includes about everything in this easily offended society. 

The enemy wants our country so he has created so much evil around us. Easily offended people who lash back with name calling who have been easily swayed by wrong information. There is no sense trying to convince anyone. The Holy Spirit is the one who convicts. But the outright hatred is making whoever created this chaos quite happy. 

My friend you must have love for the Lord period. False narratives have been in the news so much people start believing them which is usually the plan of one trying to undermine a democratic society. Today if you hear His voice harden not your heart friend. Don’t name call, judge, hate, Unfriend, but why not spend about as much time praying for your enemies as you do trying to make enemies? Think about that. Basically read the book of John. Stop watching news reports. Pray for those who have called you ugly names. Let God handle it. He is in control of the world, period! 

PRAYER: My heart goes out to those people who have been hurt or had a family member killed and the narrative to create hate for law enforcement has to stop. I pray for those hard hearts to be changed and for Jesus to come into hearts that need hate transformed to love. In Jesus’ name.Amen. 

Are You Armed And Ready?

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

When soldiers go into battle they are prepared with the proper equipment to fight and to protect them. Similarly police officers have to don the proper protective gear in order to be prepared for stray bullets and other projectiles.

 As a believer each day you may or may not even pick up your Bible. Maybe you are too busy checking your Facebook status or catching up on the morning news. Do you realize spending time in the Bible is your spiritual armor for your day? If I took a poll right now and asked how many read your Bible today how would you respond? Some Christians don't even take a few minutes for what should be the most important part of their day. Shame on us.

Today is you are guilty of not making time to get armed and ready why not do something to change your schedule and really get ready for the Spiritual warfare that is out there on a daily basis. Start by reading Proverbs 21 and Psalm 21. Enjoy your day.

 PRAYER: I confess there are times Facebook has been way more compelling and interesting than the Bible which should take precedence in my life. Give me self control to re order my priorities and make time for you daily. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Are You Standing?

Are you cowering under fear when you hear the world news? Terror attacks. Police killings. Military cutbacks. God did not give us a spirit of fear it says in 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." Some translations say He gives us a 'sound mind'. I don't know about you but peace and a soundness of mind sounds pretty good to me. How do you achieve that in the midst of the evil around us? 

The verse I highlighted above in Ephesians is part of the verses dealing with spiritual warfare. We put on the armor of God which is God's word and we go out and we stand. We do not hide, or sit, or squat. We stand and do it with strength and confidence. Our enemies have no power over the power of God living inside of us. Do not let world chaos make you fear. Read the word. Know that the King of kings is bigger and more powerful than our enemies and He wins in the end.

Next time you feel bothered just talk out loud and tell the devil and his little minions to leave you alone and tell him he has no power over you and God is bigger than him. 

PRAYER: United States has always been a place of relative peace and safety but these past few years many attacks against U.S. have  occurred on our own soil. Lord you are greater than any attacks against this Christian nation. When I start to fear help me to read my Bible more and to pray. In Jesus' name. Amen.
