Bragging, Boasting, Gloating? Shhhh!

 

Do not gloat when your enemy falls;
    when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove

Are you tempted to brag and boast over something maybe telling others your good deeds like when you fasted or when you gave money to the poor? Perhaps it is gloating over the recent election? Whatever the case God wants His followers to be humble. 

I know it is easy to post non stop on social media letting others see a story book of your vacations and such. I am guilty of this and really why is it necessary to do this. Sometimes I yearn for the days of no Facebook or cell phones. 

In my opinion I feel social media is the downfall of our society. I am not advocating for taking away free speech but so many emotions can be stirred up when you dive into the world of endless opinions. Try to give social media a complete rest. Grab your Bible instead. 

PRAYER: Lord you are beautiful your face is all I seek. I have messed up many times and you are there to forgive me. Help me show that same forgiveness to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
