"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:” Amos 8:11
When it is time to eat either breakfast, lunch, or supper most of us are ready and sometimes eat more than our bodies need. But when it comes to feasting on the Word of God are you hungry? The Beatitudes, found in Matthew chapter 5, states in verse 6, "blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled."Can you honestly say you and hungry for hearing and reading God's word or has Satan made your love for it cold? The only way to grow to be more Christlike is to 'hide' God's word in your heart as it says in Psalm 119:11 "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."
PRAYER: I am so thankful to live in a country where I am free to own Bibles, go to church, listen to Christian radio and watch Christian television. I intend to make sure I don't neglect your word and will pray for family members who have become lethargic and complacent spiritually. In Jesus' name. Amen.
