"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these
 brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25:40

I was watching a live Congressional prayer service on Daystar network last week
 when Pennsylvania representative Tim Murphy eluded to people who were lost,
 last, least and lonely. We can all look not far from our comfort zone and see
 people who fit this description. Perhaps a homeless person outside of a 
food bank waiting for the door to open. Maybe a hitchhiker. It could even be one
 of our neighbors. The ones who society does not really care about or maybe
 people are afraid to approach. Older people in nursing homes. Maybe an elderly
 relative? 

Each of us I am sure has been down and out on occasion but to truly
 be needy, lost, imprisoned, lonely, destitute is quite another thing. Maybe some
 reading this have fit into one of those categories. It hurts emotionally and you
want it to end. Maybe these people feel there is no way out. But the good
 news is God does care and His people are out there on duty around
 the clock. Are you one of the people who could meet a need in one of
 the four categories in my title? 

Today your assignment is to try to bring joy to a hurting person. Ask God
 to show you someone to be kind to and show the love of Jesus to. 

PRAYER: Help me father to not be so concerned about my own needs
 that I become numb to the needs of others. In Jesus' name. Amen.
