Get Em Up!

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

When police apprehend a person they have been chasing they usually say something like “hands up where I can see them” or “get em up” meaning time to assume position of surrender.

You may or may not go to a ‘hand raising’ church. I am happy to say I do.
Raising your hands in praise to the Almighty when you sing praise and worship songs where it is only between you and God, period. So get em up! Just like a person surrenders to the police and puts hands in the air your act of surrender is giving your all to Jesus.

Are you all in for the King of Kings or just barely there on Sundays? You can get excited for football season or a rock concert and other things why not get  excited about Jesus?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I love to sing your praises. I pray for those people who may not have a surrendered life to come to truly know you as their savior. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Surrender

Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. Romans 6:13

When watching war movies such as the 2015 release of the true story 'Unbroken', as prisoners are captured they put their hands in the air in the form of surrender. When a person lifts their hands to Jesus in praise or worship he or she signifies that they too are surrendering to His Lordship and guidance. How many have sung the song 'I Surrender All' then walk out of church and take back their life and don't follow God the rest of their week? Something to ponder.

Are there areas of your life that you have not totally surrendered to God? Work, play, raising family, your words and thoughts, social activities, social media, making friendships. You can probably think of a few more to add to this list. In the Bing online dictionary the word surrender means "To cease resistance to an enemy or opponent and submit to their authority."

Today is the day to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Not just when you feel like it but 24/7. Satan will try to derail your efforts and obedience to Christ but you are not unaware of his schemes to stop him
.
PRAYER: I give you my ambitions,my dreams, my hopes, and my prayers Lord. Your ways are higher than my ways. I trust you Lord for the perfect plan for my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Your Choice...Worrier or Warrior!

Cast all your anxiety on Him for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Your situation may never change. Your children may never stop doing dangerous things. You are going to die someday. Everyone will. You can enjoy flying without gripping the arm rests. You may get sick, people do.

Please know when you worry you make yourself into an ineffective prayer warrior. Pray, trust, believe, then let it go. Your fretting and anguish will not bring you closer to God or change anything. Many worriers out there need to understand  when you worry you make Satan very thrilled. Don't keep saying "I'm just a worrier" and go through life stressed and anxious. Learn to practice letting go of a situation knowing that by you worrying as it says in scripture in Matthew 6:27, "you can not add an hour to life."

Wake up each day and look at yourself in the mirror and say "I am not going to allow Satan to make me ineffective for you. I trust you God and will NOT worry" then walk away and let it go. If you have been a constant worrier as your daily routine this may take a while to get this new habit.
I have a son who flies planes for a living and another son and daughter in law who enjoy rock climbing.  I do not wake up and fret all day. I am excited for them that they are doing what they enjoy.

Start your day and truly let God have your situation. Turn on some praise music and think of the song 'I Surrender All' then do just that.

PRAYER: You are always with me. You care for my needs and walk with me each day. I need your strength to trust you and stop trying to constantly be on edge. Help me Lord. In Jesus' name.Amen.
