Offense Is So Prevalent Today

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV Bible Gateway

These five verses pack a huge punch and are sort of telling what is going on in culture right now. When in fact instead of being mad at people it is Satan who is the provoker and who is to blame.

If you have never had anyone take offense at you then consider yourself blessed. It is caused by misunderstandings, human nature, a contentious spirit, or deep hurt inside someone.

Sometimes the offended person stews over what it is and has a hard time dying to self and moving on giving forgiveness to the one who hurt them. If you are offended you are allowing a root of bitterness to grow inside of you. Stop now and root it out before it infects other parts of your life.

PRAYER: Lord I thank you for your mercy and grace which you freely extend to all no matter how messed up a person is. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Live Unoffended....Who Me?

A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offense.Proverbs 19:11

Are you able to let go of hurt, wrong doing against you, unfairness, and all things that fall into these categories? Offense is a weapon used by Satan to divide even Christian friends and family. It is a poison.

Being offended leads to nothing good. Holding grudges, becoming bitter, getting even, nothing redeeming that is for certain.

You may never make peace with the one who caused you hurt but keep praying, loving, and let the Holy Spirit take it from there. What you need is grace and peace. And just give the situation to the Lord and live in peace.

PRAYER:Lord Jesus I need your strength to not allow myself to be entangled in bitterness and offense. I do not want to give the enemy a foothold so give me strength to love and not hate. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
