How Much Light Is In Your Day?

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105

You are probably thinking I am asking about how long is daylight before the sun sets at the end of the day but what I am referring to is how much of Jesus’ light is in your day? 

Only by having light can you dispel darkness and the darkness in our world now is thick and foreboding. Evil makes itself like an Angel of light and many are sucked into beliefs that are no where in God’s word. Yet the culture wins out. Why? Because without a steady diet of ‘light’ found only in God’s word you can easily be tripped up. The devil loves complacency in believers. 

What are you going to do today? Will you choose to dwell mostly in a dark world full of deception and lies or will you take a good dose of God’s sunshine each day and continually feed on it by listening to worship music in your car and at home? Your choice. Go beyond one hour on Sunday or the devil will get you. 

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I love your word yet there have been many times I don’t choose to start my day with you. Forgive me because I allowed the enemy to distract me. I choose you first and will not allow darkness to win. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

On The Darkest Nights You Can See The Stars

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. James 1:2-3

Life can have some dark moments sometimes,  those you do not think you will ever be released from. You hurt and bad. You try to give things to God but keep taking them back. What is a person to do?

Just remember on the darkest of nights if you stand out in the countryside on a cloudless night you will see millions of stars in the sky. Shining and flickering and making you see the immenseness of God’s creation. At this moment you can see how great God is and how little we are in comparison. He is not big enough not to care for all of His creations.

You can escape the darkness in your life and run to the light. This is not the end. Just keep getting up each day, have prayer and read the Bible even if you don’t feel like it. Try Psalms. Pray,  which simply put is a conversation with God, no thee’s or thou’s necessary. He hears without those. Believe it or not some day sunshine will come back into your darkest moments. Hang on!

PRAYER:This is the day you have made Lord and I rejoice and thank you for it. I know you care about every hurt or pain I go through. Strengthen me so that someday I will be able to help another get lifted up and see the light again. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Right Versus Wrong

"Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it,' Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left." Isaiah 30:21

Each person has that little voice inside of them, a conscience, that makes you instinctively know right from wrong. Some call it a God shaped hole. As bad as a person can get they know certain things are wrong and certain things are right. Society can pass laws that say "stealing is okay" but deep inside we KNOW it is not.

According to Ephesians 2:2 Satan works in the heart and mind of those doing wrong. Many are misled or deceived into believing lies because of him. He is tricky. A schemer. He manipulates the truth of God into a lie. The Bible is truth but Satan is trying to distort it. You can't change the truth of God into a lie. 

If you know people close to you caught up dabbling in the darkness of Satan's lies, continue to pray for them. Also pray you will not be captivated and led down the wrong path. 

PRAYER: Help me to always recognize the lies of the enemy. I pray for any people I know being deceived by him right now to be set free out of darkness. In Jesus' name. Amen.
