And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”Luke 12:15
Recently I wrote about my woes of accidentally deleting all the files/folders on my I phone. Many were vital but others just sentimental. When I say vital I don’t mean life or death just really could have made use of them.
In light of the big picture of losing your ‘stuff’ a few files on my phone won’t make the world stop turning and maybe give me a better appreciation of life and what is important in general. Those individuals and families who have recently suffered catastrophic property and personal losses are not concerned about their phone but have many other things they can’t retrieve. California and North Carolina families are hurting.
In the times of your loss and problems in life stop and think of people who have it way worse. As my younger son calls it ‘first world problems’ since in reality they are not going to make life stop and the world will keep spinning. Stop today and give thanks.
PRAYER: Lord help me stay focused on you and what is really important in life. In Jesus’ name.Amen.
