Take Your Positions Soldiers!

We are at war my friends. Not a war necessarily between people but against the demonic realm trying to destroy our freedom, our Christian nation, and our heritage. All of us are soldiers in this battle being waged. Washington DC has had so much in person Holy Spirit filled intercession for over a month now going on all over Capitol Hill. It is exciting.Sadly some churches are just that and I mean churches. A comfy place to sing and hang out on Sunday but lack the tools for fighting warfare against the devil. Many have even bought into the devils lies that justify some types of sin. It breaks my heart because the devil has them right where he wants them. Weak and complacent and assuming they follow God because they live in America but in favor of many types of obvious sin. Just pray my friend don’t fight with people.Get on your knees before God because the enemy has many people tricked to believe lies. Friend you know who wins in the end. This is about keeping America a nation founded on God. Be sure to vote.PRAYER: Oh Lord open the eyes of those blinded by the enemy who has taken them captive causing division on social media and riots and turmoil in this great land. Help me always stand for truth and to be a guide to someone maybe who has lost their way or their moral compass is broken. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Not Of This World
My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. John 17:15-17
How does a follower of Jesus live in this present day world without being tripped up? Do you hide yourself away and never go out into the world? The answer is no. “True holiness runs from nothing” was a quote I heard from pastor Creflo Dollar.
Holiness is being set apart for God. The present world has embraced some unholy lifestyles and those who speak up are called mean spirited. God loves sinners and all have sinned it says in Romans 3:23
You are to be ‘in the world’ but not ‘of the world’ so keep that in mind. Deep down inside of everyone I have heard there is a God shaped hole or basically a sense of right and wrong. Stand strong no matter what culture says is right. Don’t be argumentative but let the Holy Spirit bring conviction.PRAYER: Father it is easy if a person immersed themselves in this world more than in God’s word. You hear things enough and maybe start thinking they are true. Help me stand strong against the rising tide of secular humanism and wrong thinking. I pray for those I know being swept under to be thrown a lifeline. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Self Conscious?
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.Galatians 2:20
To be self conscious is to worry too much about what others think or to place ones self on a pedestal of sorts being almost in love with self.
Scripture tells you to die to self(1 Corinthians 15:31). It is hard today with the selfie culture, snap chat, and other ways to elevate yourself. Even sometimes worrying too much about what others think could place you in danger of even narcissism.
What we should do is lift Jesus higher and seek to emulate him and represent Him and not be thinking of ourselves so much. Romans 12:3 Says For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. Now go lift Jesus higher!
PRAYER: This is the day you have made Lord and you alone are great and mighty and can do all things. Forgive me if I ever elevated myself too much without giving you the glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Foothold?
“In your anger do not sin”:Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Ephesians 4:26-27
Are you resisting the devil in your daily life or has he already gained a foothold in your life? The definition of a foothold is “a place where a person's foot can be lodged to support them securely, especially while climbing.” I am not a rock climber but my younger son and his wife are and I tried bouldering once and it is so important to have a place to secure your foot before you attempt to climb higher. Once done you can proceed.Satan can gain a foothold in your life in numerous ways. Feeding your mind with lies and untruths from sources trying to trick you. Being angry and bitter can also create opportunity to latch on. Deception is rampant when you start to believe sources other than God’s word. When your senses aren’t exercised unto godliness.You have to be on guard constantly because the enemy can latch onto you before you realize it till you can’t even tell good from evil or truth from a lie. My friend make it a point to nourish your spirit man daily with a hefty dose of scripture. If instead you feed it morning news, television shows, and the like you can’t discern because opposing views come into your head. The devil does not like truth and will do whatever it takes to grab you so beware.PRAYER: Father I know how important it is to first of all read the Bible regularly but also to have like minded friends who love Jesus more than anything. Help me stay grounded in the word so I can recognize lies. I pray for those I know who are blinded by secular untruths that they may be set free. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The mind is a wonderful thing but has to have discipline to think on the right things. Otherwise you worry, fret, manipulate and say or do things you wish you would not have.Waiting and patience are themes throughout scripture and consequences of not being still indeed backfired. Listening to God is so important.What are you attempting to wait for? Don’t allow your emotions to make you do something you regret later or jump to conclusions. Talk to God when you feel the impulse to do something you might regret. Good things do come to those who wait.PRAYER:Father each day I need to remember to commit the day to you and be still afterwards and not try to do things without you. Give me the ability to be still. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Does Your Dogma (aka Faith) Speak 'Loudly'?
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.Psalm143:8What a nice compliment for a believer if someone were to say your faith spoke ‘loudly’ as was the recent statement by Senator Dianne Feinstein of California during ongoing hearing for confirmation of the newest Supreme Court justice Amy Coney Barrett.In other words she did not lead a double life as a secret service Christian and her Christian Faith impacts all areas of her life. For a liberal senator this might strike fear into her heart but it speaks volumes for the integrity and unwavering character of Judge Amy.I would only hope all of us who claim to follow Christ truly live for Him 24-7 and not just say and do what others want to hear. Believers know that Jesus is always with them and their character and actions should reflect that of the Lord. Being noticed as living for the Lord is the highest compliment anyone could receive.PRAYER: Give me strength Lord when I am in situations where I could easily deny you to stand strong and unashamed. I pray for courage to always do the Christian thing in all areas of my life.In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Disgruntled?

Christians can have both bad and good days but when it seems you are having more ‘moments’ of agitation than blessing then maybe it is time to do a spiritual checkup.Are you making time with the Lord each morning? Are you really trusting God with your prayers? Are you walking in the spirit more than the flesh? Are you putting away distractions? Are you staying peaceful when you feel like screaming?When you spend too much time ‘in the world’ it becomes easy to let the world affect you or I should say ‘infect’ you. Little problems with technology, job, your time table not being met can really get you up in arms. If you have had one of those moments or days lately stop and talk to God. Tell Him you need His help. Tell Him you will stop trying to be in charge and allow the Holy Spirit to intervene. Then go enjoy a walk, a cup of tea, or simply read your Bible.PRAYER: Father God I need you every single moment. Forgive me when I allow the enemy to ruffle my feathers over things that are not that major. Help me be salt and light.In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Are You Rejoicing?
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.Romans 12:15Recently a fellow writer whose writing I receive was sharing with her readers how in her attempt to spread comfort and empathy about a struggle she was going through a reader verbally attacked her for her lack of compassion. I too have experienced this when there is a huge misunderstanding in what you are trying to convey.The enemy is alive and well. He the little weasel does not like Christians or Christian writers who attempt to share God’s love with others. All of us have struggles and it is not your job to compare who has it worse. Usually this occurs when your eyes get off the savior and onto self.Jesus endured the worse struggle by his beating, torture, and death on the cross. He did this because he loves us. Imagine someone telling Jesus, my pain is worse. Friend remember to weep with those who weep and don’t be self centered on your own pain.PRAYER: I am thankful for things I have gone through that make me stronger. Forgive me if I have ever acted like I deserve more grace than another. Give me a compassionate heart. In Jesus’ name.Amen.

Guess Who I Know?

John 17:3 NIV Bible Gateway#BiblegatewaybloggerA few years ago one of my hobbies was collecting autographed celebrity photos. Most of those people I never actually met but wrote to an agents office to see if I could get one. Never paid anything aside from the cost of a stamp.t’s funny how we humans get excited about famous people. Not everyone does but it depends on how you were raised if you were mesmerized by fame even a local news personality. One time I was approached at a local restaurant in Huntsville, Alabama to inquire as to if I were the candle maker at nearby tourist attraction Constitution Village. Made me chuckle. We are all just people and each of us puts on our pants the same way some may just be more expensive pants.
More important than all these well known people who have people clamoring to get photos is the King of kings. Do you know Him? Would you run to get on the front row if He were speaking at a prayer rally in Washington DC? Sort of humorous to think of that but ‘mere men’ who just happen to be well known are still just people. And Jesus is humble so he would not like the idea of everyone wanting a piece of Him unless it was to bow at his feet for worship. So friend decide who it is you want to worship and idolize.PRAYER: I am grateful for people I have caught a glimpse of that society deems as celebrities but even more than that is my relationship with you Lord. May I never idolize anything more than you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When Words Hurt You
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29
False accusations, rumors, lies, judgements. If you have ever been on the other end of someone’s hatred and disdain towards you it down right hurts.
The mouth is a terrible weapon at times. In conjunction with often times emotions and not thinking words are blurted out that can wound deeply and even destroy relationships. That is why it is so critical to tame your tongue and maybe when in doubt of whether to say or text something to maybe wait.
Maybe you have wounded someone or you were the person on the receiving end. Whatever the case, make it your aim to live a godly peace filled life, being kind to those you don’t agree with or get along with. Don’t be the one with the ugly words spewing forth but take your mind and tongue to be in line with scripture by studying the word daily.
PRAYER: I am grateful for friends and family and for the ability to speak. I do not want to say anything that shames, guilts, or wounds anyone. Forgive me and help me forgive those who have been unkind to me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Birth Of America
He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.Job 26:7When I was a child I learned a rhyme that said “In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue” and we children heard the true history of those who came and conquered many obstacles to found the great land we know as The United States.Revisionists history has come along and tried to destroy Columbus and his principled life. He was a great person and at great risk and mockery set out to discover a new land. Columbus landed in the ‘New World’ an island near Florida on 12 October 1492. Columbus looked to the Almighty for his strength.It was through God’s providence that our nation came into being set apart to become a Christian nation. Many have come long and attempted to destroy this by rewriting history and cursing the notion of a Christian western world. Sadly we even had a president who tried to put America down to other nations. In the 1892 Supreme Court decision Church of the Holy Trinity v. U. S., the Court unanimously affirmed that America was indeed a Christian nation. Part of this was attributed to Columbus. So rest easy this Columbus Day and be thankful for every bit of God’s providence that shaped this land.PRAYER:The enemy has tried so desperately to destroy America and what we stand for even to the point of confusing Americans about their history and making many believe lies. Father we need honesty and we need Christian teachers and leaders who love this land and what it stands for not trying to reshape us into communism.As Election Day nears help eyes be opened to the enemies tricks.In Jesus’ name. Loving God's Word And His People
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.John 1:1Do you love the Bible? I mean really love it to the point if there was a fire in your house you would make sure it got out safely?There is a huge spiritual battle going on now of good and evil and loads of deception where many can’t discern what is right and wrong. If you make it a point to get nourished on the Bible daily and keep hungering for it you should be alert to the enemies tactics.Keep the television off and the politics off. Stop taking to Facebook. When you feel that urge go get your Bible instead, pray, and read some Psalms. As for loving His people, that would be everyone, because He is the creator. Sure many snub him, do not acknowledge him and only have ‘church membership’ as the response to if" are you a believer". Pray for those around you who are unloveable for the Holy Spirit to touch them.
PRAYER: Jesus I need you. Forgive me when I have thought or said ugly thoughts about anyone. Help me as I choose to press in to know you better. Help me recognize deception and run from it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Different But Still One Commonality

God created each human with different traits, gifts, and personalities.It is up the each person to make a decision whether they will follow Christ or not. He doesn’t force himself into our lives.
Followers may be different but have one thing in common and that is they love Jesus and want to live to Him and serve Him. It should be the glue that holds us together regardless of denominational ties.Each person is here for a reason and can be used in the kingdom of God. Many are still wandering either from the love they once had for the Lord or have never truly encountered Him.Where is your heart today?Are you growing closer to Him or further away?PRAYER: Help me Lord never act haughty like I have all the answers but help me have a heart of love and compassion to help bring people to you. Great Is The Lord!,
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. (Psalm 145:3, ESV)Pause for a moment taking a break from the divisions in our world and focus on the glory of the Almighty God! His name is wonderful, his name is powerful, his name is the name above all names.His kingdom is forever! He is higher and greater than all the petty bickering of mere men who have drifted away and spent more time being enamored by the creation than the creator. Our foolish worship of things, people, events, and even ‘worshiping worship‘ instead of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.Jesus is King, creator, Almighty, name above ALL names, peacemaker, mediator, friend, savior, way maker, light in the darkness, truth, redeemer, sovereign, mighty to save, first and the last, alpha and the omega, the bread of life, and so much more. How Great is God and how unfathomable His love for us even when we don’t deserve it. Focus on Him and not the problems in this world. Worship him, lift up your hands in praise and get on your knees and truly pour out your heart to him. The things of Earth WILL grow strangely dim in the Light of His Glory and Grace!PRAYER: Oh I thank you for the parents who taught me about Jesus and took me to church and for those who were used by God to lead me to the cross of Jesus and I pray for those you put in my path to plant ‘seeds’ to help others come to a saving knowledge of you. Unity Or Chaos

A troubling spirit of dissent, anger, evil, and chaos has permeated America. It is not from God. Believers in Christ should not be cheering on these lost hurting souls creating havoc and killing in our cities streets.America needs a revival. The devil does not like this country and what it stands for. We who love freedom and love truth have been fighting to keep ourselves from the anti God Spirit of communism.Sometimes God uses unlikely people to do his work and the enemy does not like that and anger and hate erupts like out of control volcanoes. Today stop what you are doing and pray for the division caused by politics, and factions trying to persuade people using a false narrative. Pray for revival in the ranks of the news media. Can you imagine how nice that would be? Now go spread love and don’t argue with others.PRAYER: Lord help this great nation stay set apart for you. Bring prayer back to the public square and the schoolhouses across our land. Spark revival in the hearts of those who hate. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Re-Set Your Mind
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.Philippians 4:8The mind is a tricky thing and if not occupied by good things can soon take a nose dive into all sorts of garbage that can get you messed up saying and doing stupid things.
Mind control is not meaning hypnotism or something far off like that but is simply getting your mind focused intentionally on the right thing. If you are obsessing over something it will continue unless you reset your mind to think another way and get busy and move forward out of the OCD ditch.Take a walk, call a friend, write a letter, start a hobby, clean your house, organize, volunteer, if not working get a job. Find a way to make someone else’s life better. But before all this open your Bible and read some Psalms and clear your mind of worldly distracting thoughts.PRAYER: At times it is easy to be in self pity and when I am that is wrong because I am concerned only about me, myself, and I. I choose to get up, get going, and live a life pleasing to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
